Hi Ladies, So, I went today for my first fitting which I have had to reschedule twice due to recovering from my surgery. It's the first time I have even seen my dress since I bought it -- so I was super nervous and add to that the fact that stomach is still really swollen from surgery; well, I have been a basketcase about these alterations. Needless to say, the seamstress at RK Bridal was fabulous... The only thing I didn't notice in person that I see now is that the bustline needs to come up to right under my bust. Its too low.. looks like I'm falling out! Thoughts? Front (lighting is strange and blurs a bit... but it gives an idea along with my odd facial expression with my chin down so I have 20 chins - don't know why I always do that!) Back On the hanger.. (so you can see the pattern that was blurred out for some reason)

Hi Everyone, I am super excited. I have been working with Pegasusmaiden on Etsy to have her design my custom hair flower and she just sent me a pictures. I wanted to incorporate all of my wedding colors in my hair flower (blue, brown and white). The picture was not taken in the best light; but there are touches of blue peeking out! The BM ones will be very similar but smaller with the main color being blue; same amount of brown (to go with the brown BM dresses) and touches of white (I don't have pics of those yet)-- Let me know what you all think!!! PS- I have my first dress fitting tomorrow and I am so nervous!!!! Eek...

Your timeframe looks great. We sent out pre-travel brochures in May 2008; our wedding is in August 2009; invites were sent out in February 2009 and STD's went out October 2008. I don't have the brochure on this computer ... but I borrowed the format from different BDW gals suggestions and samples. It's on FI's computer I will try to upload it later if you want to see it. We included everything from destination information, timelines, packing lists, reminders, etc...

I am so sorry that you had a bad experience at RK Bridal... I went to literally over 50-60 bridal stores.. almost every store in the NY/NJ metro area ranging from super high end to Davids Bridal. I had my best experience at RK Bridal. My consultant was amazing; didn't try to push the most expensive dresses on me... found every dress that I brought a picture of (at least 10) and also brought other dresses that she thought would flatter me. She was brutally honest with me about what looked good and what didn't... which I guess may offend some people, but I am brutally honest myself so I really appreciated the "your butt looks huge in that" or the "that does NOT look good on you girl" comments. LOL. They were not pushy at all for me to buy something and I ended up getting my gorgeous gown from them with the help of my consultant (wish I could remember her name, lol). I think that your experience depends upon who you have to work with you and your personality... but just wanted to add my two cents because I had an amazing experience with them.

I am also bringing my own fabulous photographer; who I met on here. I fell in love with his work and he agreed to do my photo's for 4 days for the cost of his travel and room at the resort. It's definitely a personal preference .. but just be careful with the resort photog's. I have read (I can't remember if it was on here or the Dreams forums) about brides getting scammed by them when buying their pics when they wanted more than the package they bought - so were forced to pay very high prices for more pics.

Both are gorgeous!!! Personally, I am partial to Watters dresses; as mine is a Watters. The fit on them is fantastic for my body shape and they were the only dresses that looked better on than they did in pics for my situation.

Thank you everyone!!!! You are all so good for my ego... I had a hard time with doing these pics because I had gained a lot of weight because of my illness but I feel so much better after having some positive feedback that he won't look at them and think about the extra pounds. Jacilynda, Thanks so much doll!! I am trying to take it easy... just the timing of this has been tough. Can you believe our dates are coming up so soon It's crazy!

Hi Ladies, I haven't been on here forever it seems .. so much to catch up on!!! I underwent fairly major surgery two weeks ago and have been sick for a while before that - so recovery has been slow and steady. So, less than two months before my wedding now; I am finally getting back to wedding planning in short spurts when I am not exhausted. So, without further adieu... Yippy Yamille!!! How fun ... I am so happy that you had a great shower and great gifts.. you are too adorable trying to break that bow. I was so super careful that everyone as laughing at me.

Very pretty... all together your look is a bit more formal. I would absolutely go with a linen suit for the men -- perhaps a tie for the groom as your dress is fairly elaborate.
