  1. Hello! Our wedding at the Coyaba in Jamaica was amazing...but now it's time to help my friends plan their wedding Costa Rica is a special place to them & they are looking for a venue for 120 - 150 people and would like to rent out the entire resort, i.e. none of the massive places. Does anyone know of any very nice resorts that have 50 - 60 rooms that would accommodate a slightly upscale event for a long weekend? Thnaks!!
  2. oops! I'm MRS. Quiche now...haha. It still seems weird to say "Mrs"!
  3. Hi Everyone! It has been a loooong time since I posted, but I just received an email update about the thread. We were married at Coyaba on May 2nd, and honestly, I couldn't have been happier. To say it was "perfect" doesn't seem genuine...but really, it was PERFECT. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Here is a link to some of our pictures on our photographers blog. Let me know if you have any questions! If you read Weddingbee, I'm Miss Quiche & will be starting my recaps soon! Ladies, you will not be disappointed!! xoxo, Kristin
  4. I'll post pictures later. If you have any questions, ask away!!
  5. Hi everyone! Our wedding was 2 weeks ago at Coyaba and it was INCREDIBLE!!!! So happy for all of you Kristin
  6. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS and welcome back! I am so glad that Coyaba was everything that you wanted for your wedding. Now seeing your pictures, I can't wait to go back! I have a couple of questions, if you wouldn't mind helping me out! Because of the rain, you said the wedding lawn was soaked, but then you had the reception on the East Lawn? Are those 2 different places? And when you mentioned the Gazebo Tent, is that the one on that separate deck (before you get to the walkway to the wedding lawn)? Also, how much did you pay for your bouquet? I am still not sure what to do about flowers. They all seem quite expensive. Any help with your add-on pricing (lights, coconut bar, etc.) would be great! & I am with you on the all-inclusive plan. We decided that after our reaserch trip down there...our bar and restaurant bill each day was as much as our room. It is expensive! Thanks for sharing!

  8. Does anyone know if the tags from Oriental Trading are rigid or flexible? I have been searching like CRAZY for clear, hard plastic luggage tags that you can insert something in to show on both sides...and am coming up empty handed (unless you order 250 of them!). If anyone is interested in going in on a quantity of them, let me know. I've found them for around 55 cents each. Thanks!!
  9. Forgot to add - the 3rd one is where you will stand with the minister, with the sea as the backdrop - it is gorgeous!
  10. It's the only lawn that they showed us...so I assume so! All - What did you decide to do about bouquets? & if you have BM's, did you get them bouquets and how much? Still not sure what to do about flowers! 2 weeks...wow! Can't wait to see your pictures
  11. Dana- Included in the wedding package is your marriage license, which will be signed during the ceremony and valid. You do not need to get re-married in the US when you get back. I am pretty sure Coyaba will FedEx 2 copies of your license to you once it is ready. Okay ladies, sorry for taking so long to post. I was lazy and had to look up how to do it So, I hope this works & here they are! The lawn is where the ceremony takes place (unless you've requested to do it on the beach). The view looking out over the water is amazing, no?? Also included one of the pool area, beach and of one of the buildings. The grounds are just amazing...you will all love it! I can't wait to go back (for more reasons than one!). Kristin
  12. Hi everyone! Well, we just got back from a 4 day research trip to Jamaica & once we saw the Coyaba, we decided it was the perfect place for our wedding in May! Ladies, this resort is BEAUTIFUL. Everyone that works there is fabulous and so accomodating. I can't say enough about it...if you haven't been there yet, you will NOT be disappointed! We are leaning towards the AI plan for our guests because the food and drinks are expensive. Plus, we don't want them to have to worry about how much they're spending, etc. & not try something because of the price. They will all know ahead of time. Also, this is not your typical AI chain hotel - no bland buffets, etc. The food is great! To offset the cost for our guests, we are picking up everyone's AI tab for one day - the Saturday of the wedding. We are hoping that this will really help out some people! I have a lot of pictures & as soon as I figure out how to post them, I will do it! We are SOOO excited!!
  13. QUOTE: "I'm also nixing the flower centerpieces. I'm going to use fresh pineapples and candles to keep costs down." _____________________________ That is a great idea! I hadn't even thought of that. I know that I want some sort of centerpiece, but really don't want to spend the money on flowers...I mean, the environment itself is decoration enough, right However, heading to the grocery store and picking up some pineapple and other tropical fruit with some candles is a great idea. Thanks!
  14. Hi- If you have any in Ocho Rios, I'd love to have the info and pics as well - thanks! mentionbien1 "at" hotmail dot com. Thanks!!
  15. I asked this same question a week ago & didn't hear anything...so I am still hoping for the same information!!
