The day has finally come and I am all packed and ready to go. I somehow got everything I am taking into one enormous suitcase. We will be there until the 29th but as soon as I get back I will post pics and a review! Thanks to everyone on this forum who has helped me along the way!! I'm so glad you guys are planning on going though! When do you depart from Cabo??

In your contract is says that your contract will be null and void in the case of an act of god, government restrictions, war, etc. So if the Swine Fly does start up again and causes a major issue which I don't think will happen you should be covered by the legal terms. It seems like everything is dying down and the CDC is even relaxing their policies such as the travel warnings and the school closures. I did speak to Viviana though about the situation and she was very sympathetic to what is going on and has really tried to work with us. I'm actually very happy with how they have handled the situation so far and they haven't even actually had a case of swine flu there. We have had more cases in San Jose, Ca where I currently live. We have also been given the OK by the doctors in my moms office as well as the doctors who teach at the medical school my fiance goes too. So try to stay positive!! I'm sure it will all work out. Oh, I am sooo sorry!! I have been following your posts on here because I am getting married at the Sheraton as well but not until June 20th. We don't know if we should wait or come up with a back up plan now because of all this. We keep hoping that all the media attention will die down though. Are Viviana or Marco at the Sheraton allowing you a refund or anything? I have emailed them about a possibility of having to cancel because of all this and I haven't got a response yet so any info would be appreciated. I think anywhere you get married though will be perfect in the end. My thoughts are with you as you figure out what to do. ~Shawna

I am so sorry to hear about those of you who have had your weddings canceled!! I hope you guys are able to figure out a plan B. You think they would try to find another option so that you could still have your wedding on or around the same day. I am praying that all of you still have the dream wedding you dreamed about Has anyone heard of any of the resorts in Cabo taking any special precautions or changing anything at all?

Thanks Erika! I knew I was reading somewhere about UPS being a bad carrier for someone. Hopefully someone on here has a good experience with shipping. I am going to ask the coordinator at the Sheraton and see if he has any suggestions. I have looked into renting votive's and it will cost approx $2.50 a piece. I found 144 votive's for $70 oI figured that alone would save me a lot of money and I could also give them to my guests as part of my wedding favors when the reception was over. I will let you all know if I find out any better info! Thanks for all the fast responses

Has anyone shipped their wedding accessories to Cabo? If so, what carrier did you use and did you have any issues? I would like to ship votives and some other decorative items down to the resort directly for them to store until I get there. I think it will be easier than trying to fit it all in my luggage with everything else I will be taking. Any ideas on how to do this would be great. Thanks in advance!!

Hey there! I am getting married at the Sheraton on June 20th of this year. I'm sorry to hear you have been having trouble with communication. I have had the complete opposite experience. Viviana has been nothing but helpful and normally responds within the same day. Once my contract was signed I was handed over to their group coordinator Marco who has also been super helpful and responsive. In fact I have read so many horror stories on this site about coordinators not responding that I wrote them both a thank you email the other week. If you have any questions at all please let me know. It is an absolutely beautiful resort and I have found many people in the past year that have got married there and were very happy they picked this resort. I do think that it tends to be more expensive for food and drinks than some of the other resorts but everything else seems to be average priced. Good luck with your planning!! ~Shawna

Wow, I have never heard this before. I am getting married on the beach as well and would not want vendors around. I am going to email my contact there and see if this is the case or not. I would assume since its a private resort that they would not be allowed to do this. Has anyone else heard about this or experienced this at their wedding? Please let us know. Thanks!!

Congrats on your engagement! I am also having my wedding at the Sheraton on June 20th, 09 but we chose to have the ceremony on the beach and the reception at the Palapa Fiesta. I love the romantic look it exuded in all of the pictures I have seen. There is definitely enough room for a dance floor if you want one. Most people use the inside of the actual Palapa though and that's what we are doing. Viviana has been extremely helpful and normally less than a 24 hour response to most emails. I am not using a wedding coordinator because I have booked everything myself and don't really feel the need to spend all that extra money now. It seems that from what I have read on this site that if your organized and know what you want then you really don't need one. I hope this all helped. I know its all a little overwhelming at first. Hi there! Sorry for the late reply. I have been so busy at work that I havent been doing much planning. Vivianna has been really great at working with me and answering all my questions though. Shes very fast in her communication and even called me a couple of times just to makes ure everything was right. I hope you have the same experience with her as I did. Someone I knew just got married here and said the food was great and they chose on of the buffet options and said there was too much food!! If you have any more specific questions please let me know.
