Having a destination wedding you have to expect that people can't afford to go - that's just par for the course. The wedding is for You and your FI, the others are guests. You are not getting married to make others happy (it's nice to be able to) but even traditional weddings you have to please others....Do this because it's what you both want to do Be happy with your decision!!! It's true those that can come will come!! Our guests only received 4 months notice on our destination wedding. Good luck and welcome to the BDW forum

Thanks for all your info. I did get in touch with Jascynthia (thanks to my TA), she did clarify that the $300 was for a private venue at the Blue Lagoon. As for dinner being included - it's included in all packages just at one of the al a cart restaurants. Jascynthia is checking with the restaurants to see which one can accommodate our group of 25. I feel better now that I have spoken with her - I hope she will last a while....I've dealt with 3 different WC's. OMG, I'm getting extremely nervous now....I had originally confirmed the date with Charmaine who is no longer there. I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to get in touch with Mina. The package we picked was the Tropical and we are under the assumption that it includes dinner service for 8 ppl (including bride & groom) and an additional $30 per person thereafter. I was not aware that we would have to rent a restaurant - it doesn't mention this anywhere.... I wonder if there is a difference at the Lady Hamilton as opposed to the Grand Palladium Jamaica even thou they are one in the same? My TA who knows Sonja from the Lady Hamilton is going to contact the resort today and find out why my messages are not responded to. I need some definate answers! Once my TA talks to the resort I will let you all know what transpired.... I think as Grand Palladium brides we must stick together so that know one gets taken. I too am bringing my ipod and docking station as I want specific music played when I walk down the isle and during dinner....after dinner we will be hitting the casino to C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E I'll keep u posted....good luck "brides". Welcome! Another Grand Palladium Bride....Congrats.

As most of our guests flying out of TO will need to stay near the airport the night before we too are looking at hotels. Usually you will get a group rate with 10 rooms. Try the Econolodge Inn at the Airport I think their rate is 114.00 per room plus your guests can park their cars for the week. I spoke to Ceaser at Groups. Mention a destination wedding!! What a great idea...my h2b would absolutely love it (he's a fishing nut - actually we both are).....

For sure, I was stressing out last week but everything has come together so nicely. I still have stuff to do but it's such a relief being booked at the hotel and the date is saved!!!

You are a blessing Petals.....what would we do without you! It is great to know someone that has been to the resort. My Travel agent knows the 'manager' of the resort and is taking care of all the plans for me but it is nice to know what the process is so that I can make sure she is doing her part. Keep the information flowin.....

Hello Ladies & Gents, I've been away from the forum for a bit as I was at a conference in Ottawa. Been very busy making "wedding plans". We are all booked at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton and have 25 confirmed guests - so excited. Oh and I got my dress......it's awesome fell in love with it and it fit like a glove - guess it was ment for me!!!!

We have picked a place "Grand Palladium Jamiaca"! We will be departing Toronto (Canada), January 31st, 2009 and getting married on February 3rd, 2009 - SOOOOO EXCITED! So far we have 14 people confirmed and haven't even sent out invitations.
