Post Groom and GM attire
DWandMJ replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Jess- Depending if you're planning on him wearing a suit or something more casual, I would hit up Macys (or its likeness). Last time I was there, they had a section designated specifically for trousers with a wide range of colors. We're in a similar boat (our colors are Lt. Green, Pewter, and Silver) and I am planning on putting FI in a pair of medium to charcoal gray trousers with a white on white striped french cuff shirt (tucked in without a tie or jacket). -

I would get it done now, just in case something should arise, but its not going to take six months like it was in 2005/2006. The gal at our county clerk office stated that if you get married and change your name, you can file a name change free of charge. Review of Moon Palace Wedding on 11/1/08

Congratulations! Reading your venue makes me soooo excited to go! Quick questions: Did you bring the freeze dried petals down with you? If so, any trouble at customs? -
In the event that any of you ladies (or gents) are having an AHR and plan to incorporate white christmas lights in anyway (wrapping trees, etc...) now is definately the time to buy! I just got home from walmart where they had strands of 100 clear lights for 30 cents/box.

In order for us to get the new time, we moved the ceremony back a day and the Miami WC just revised the contract and we signed the new one.

Katt, I had a similar concern about not having enough light for a 6pm ceremony time, so I actually had our ceremony time changed to 5 o'clock. We're getting married at the beginning of April and the sun sets right around the 6pm mark (hopefully ideally timed for sunset photos). Talk to your WC to see what options you have.

It was a groom's attire for one the weddings Cecilia Dumas shot for. It was posted on her website. -

I'm on a mission! And not having much luck succeeding If any of you fabulous ladies may be able to point me in the right direction, I would be eternally grateful (as if I'm not already!). I'm searching for this shirt: (Full photo credit to C. Dumas) It's a white on white stripe long sleeve collared shirt that will be tucked into charcoal or navy pants. Please help if you can! Much Love, -
Question for the girls that have already been married at the MP and used the horse-drawn carriage.... How did you coordinate your music with the timing of the carriage arrival? Did you have a separate song for the groom and bridal party? A separate one for the carriage entrance? We're currently using Hans Zimmer "You're so cool" (3:39 minutes long) for the carriage arrival. Do you think that is long enough?

I sent you an email. Would you be willing to sell about six of the green?

1. To veil or not to veil? I will be doing a veil, but I think we'll attach some clear weights to help keep it down while we're outside of the gazebo. One definate advantage to the chapel gazebo is that it has plexiglass windows up to block the wind. I don't believe the other two gazebos do. 2. Have you seen the beach at MP b4? no 3. Bug bites… If you're doing any kind of OOT bag, you can include some bug spray, or the wipes, or I think they even have a sunblock/repellant combination. No harm in having it if you don't need it. 4. Photogs…. We have David Pena reserved through the resort. Of the samples seen, his work has a pretty artistic feel. I like the saturation of color he uses. 5. What package are you doing? We're doing the free symbolic package and including the photographer, the horse drawn carriage, my bouquet, hair & make-up, and we're adding a variety of pillar candles on the altar (our ceremony is at 5 pm/ the sun sets at 6). Other than that we'll take advantage of what the free package has to offer. We, too, are on a tight budget so we're skipping a traditional reception at the resort and using the dinner reservation and then going dancing at the discoteque afterward. We're skipping the cake because we'll do one at the AHR, plus from what I understand the cake isn't that good. As far as decorations goes, we'll bring a white aisle runner, freeze dried flower petals (can't use silk and they charge $40/bag for fresh ones), and raffia fans wrapped with ribbon and a flower. Simple, but pretty with a romantic glow. Moon photographers.ppt

We are going to have a casual AHR actually at our home. We are getting married at the end of Nov. so plan to make it Christmas themed (this cuts back on décor since I already have all the stuff to decorate for Christmas). We are going to have it catered but will only be providing appetizers and non alcoholic beverages (I know it’s bad to not have alcohol but we just can’t swing it). By only providing passed appetizers it will keep us from having to set up enough tables and chairs to for everyone. We will have our usual tables and a few extra chairs set out along with living room furniture so those who need to sit should be able to. I plan to wear my dress and have my FI wear his wedding day outfit as well. We will have a picture DVD playing on our T.V. during the party so guest can see all that went on during the trip. A videographer is included in our wedding package so we will also play our wedding video for those who missed it. Just something at home, comfy, and casual! I’m thinking about doing evites for the AHR and calling older family members that are not computer savvy to presonaly invite them to AHR. This is still in the works I have some time so I am not locked on that aspect. Something else I am unsure of is…………………… Should I invite guest that attending the DW along with those who did not the wedding to the AHR, or is it ok to just invite those who did not attend the DW to the AHR. If I invited both I am guessing that we will have around 100 guest (that’s a lot and will get pricey) if I just invite guest that did not attend the wedding we will have around 50 or so. What are you doing? Depending on how great of a deal you can get on the catering, that may be costly too. Have you thought about having a home cooked meal instead. The price per head is soo much cheaper than even doing passed appetizers. We too are on a tight budget and I'm hoping to keep it the cost of the AHR under $2000 while it still be quasi semi-formal.

The TV one looks like a bit of a scam, actually. They have some package deals. The one that comes with a stripper pole and a bunch of stuff is the $250 one. I purchased the package that included 6 dvds for $60. You can also buy the discs individually. I'll check comcast (thanks for the recommendation) and let you guys know if its worth trying.

I'm wandering if anyone has tried this workout plan, more specifically the videos? I've seen it advertised a few times, and it perked my curiosity...

To wax, or not to wax, that is the question!
DWandMJ replied to christenew's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
How long does the Brazilian typically last? I've been seriously considering getting it done for the wedding... Should I still be hair free a week after having it done? I think I can hang with the pain. I actually asked my sister to do it for me a few years back prior to heading to hawaii for vacation. I bought the wax, the melting pot, and muslin strips... yeah, thats a job better left to the professionals. She got a few strips ripped from my flesh (leaving some pretty knarly bruising and ultimately defeating the purpose) then she decided to try to the rear crack. She spread the cheeks, spread a thin layer of wax, and as she turned to grab a muslin strip, lost her grip, and ::clap:: my butt cheeks were glued together. We called it quits after that. -
Does anyone know where I can find stems (actually preferrably just the blooms) of real touch lilies (or even just decent looking silk flowers), other than at Michaels, Joanns, or Walmart? I'm specifically in search of about 15 blooms of white w/ green asiatic lilies. Please help!?!?!?
