  1. I'm having my bridesmaids walk to Cannon in D set to acoustic guitar (sounds a little more tropical). The song is about 3 minutes, so I'm going to let that play then start my song (Ave Maria-acoustic guitar).
  2. Congrats on your wedding, you looked so beautiful & happy! Can't wait to hear all about your big day.
  3. I'm getting married at the RIU Mo Bay & considering having my FI cousin perform our ceremony. The WC said that this would be fine, but a Jamaican officiant has to present during the ceremony and for the signing of the certificate. They are willing to work with us to incorporate this into our ceremony. Hope that helps!
  4. I'm thinking of having a cocktail hour before our reception dinner with a champagne toast and hors dourves. Has any past Riu brides tried the food listed? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it for my guests. Thanks!
  5. Is anyone bringing their own decor with them for their reception? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to lug all the stuff with me, or just put it in the hands of the WC.
  6. oh ok, great...my colors are pretty basic (red wine & aqua blue), so I'm pretty sure she'll have at least one of the two. Thanks again!
  7. Hey there amee, I'm actually thinking of doing the same for the reception site. I read somewhere on here that if you do order flowers or chair covers/sashes for the ceremony, they transfer everything to the reception site free of charge. I was thinking of adding some decor of my own to the reception, but I don't know how difficult it's going to be to a.) transport it to Jamaica and b.) have someone set it up for me the way that i want. If you find out any more info about home decor places, be sure to let me know.
  8. Thanks Justustwo for posting your pics. I think that I'm going to go with the chair cover & sashes....it really adds a certain something to the wedding site. Does she have a variety of colors to choose from for the sashes?
  9. Great idea! I think that this will be very helpful. I haven't been very successful in using the search option to find info that I want. Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the info everybody! I'm a Riu MoBay bride, but I'm sure it pretty much works the same. Does anyone have any pics of the set-up with the chair covers? I'd just like to get an idea of how it will look.
  11. Wow Lilpaisley, your date is just around the corner! I know you must be soooo excited...I'm excited and I'm not going until 4-11-09
  12. We are right there with you! My MOH and Matron OH both cancelled and the number of guests dwindle everyday. Just think about it this way-- you will have more time to spend with your new hubby and get closer to the guests that do come instead of being pulled in 8 milliion directions and having your wedding day become a big blur. I think your spirits will lift once you are there.
  13. Great pics & thank you so much for your review! I'm super excited now....only 90 days to go:)
  14. Thanks Indigo for posting such great info and keeping us all informed. You've given us tips about things that I wouldn't even think to be concerned about. Thanks for all of your help. I think your reception set up was nice. That was a concern of mine because I wasn't sure how it was going to work out for our guests, but it looks great! I'm glad to hear you had such a great time.
  15. Thanks Indigo for posting so much information for us! You are filling us in on things that I wouldn't even dream of being concerned about. Your reception pics look very nice, I was wondering how that was all going to work out for our guests. I'm glad to hear you had such a great time!
  16. Congratulations Indigo! I'm so happy your wedding was wonderful and I can't wait to read all about it. Thanks for thinking of us RMB brides while you were there
  17. Hey MontegoBay09-can you send me that excursion list that your TA provided? Thanks!
  18. hey there Indigo! Congratulations on your big day and i wish you the best ...I'm also sorry for your loss, I'm sure your sister will be there with you all in spirit. I wanted to let you know that I contacted the resort back in July through my TA and I received an email stating that it was ok for me to use an outside photographer, I would just have to purchase a day pass if they are not staying at the resort. I know this probably a little late for you, but i wanted to pass that info along for other MoBay brides who were thinking about using an outside photographer at the Riu.
  19. PM me anytime! I haven't started the paperwork yet, because my TA said that we had time. But it's good to start thinking about it now though. I just mailed the save-the-dates and everyone is getting excited. Hope your planning is going well and keep me updated! Any info I receive, I'll be sure to pass along to you (and all of the other Riu Mobay brides).
  20. Thanks guys for the info! it helps a lot. Hey Montegobay09!! Congratulations! I'm sure we'll run into each other Our wedding is sched for 4p and I know you don't arrive until the evening, but you are more than welcome to sneak a peak at any of our setups if you want to get an idea of how things will look for your big day. Planning is going ok so far (thanks for asking). I haven't really been in contact with the resort yet because I'm not sure of what questions I have for Kenieka. How is your planning coming along? I'm getting so excited, aren't you?
  21. Hi All! I'm a Riu MoBay bride & I'm planning on having a friend of mine sing & play her guitar for our wedding ceremony music. I'm concerned about the sound quality and whether or not she will be heard. Does anyone know if they provide mics/amps/speaker, etc? I'd appreciate any help with this. Thanks all
  22. Thanks so much for sharing the pics! Awesome, I'm really excited
