    i am using wpa associates which is an affiliate of sungold. for 10 hours i am paying $2200. it will be split over 2 days for a ttd shoot. i think sungold is a little more expensive. i would have still gone with them though, but they were already booked on my date, more than a year in advance.

    June bride here. I'm getting married June 13 at Riu Ocho Rios. What have I done: have the dress and I love it sent out invites in February have about 35 people booked ordered moh dress booked resort, dinner, and reception booked photographer got flowers from angel's accents ceremony wording wedding bands what I still need to do: finish getting things for OOT bags get FI's clothing buy clothes for the 2 weeks I will be in Jamaica get fans for favors buy sand ceremony vases get gifts for parents of the bride and groom get e-ring re-dipped

    i feel that parents that do not want you to have a dw pull out all the stops to get you to have the wedding they want you to have. this is your dad, he loves you, and he will be there. like you said, your wedding is a year away and i am sure his new job will let him have the time off. if having a dw is what you really want, do it. he will come around.

    i was originally getting the highest package, i can't remember the name. but after being on this board i realized it was more cost effective to get the free package and upgrading from there. also the number of people i was planning on attending get a lot smaller. i am a ror bride, but i think the policy is the same.

    i had the same experience. i think that is basically how most resorts operate. i don't think as many brides plan as far out as you and i did. just go ahead a book your wedding slot. do that asap so you can get the time you want and then when the rooms are available book your room. the prices did not change significantly from the previous year. don't let that little thing stress you out.

    it is two business days prior to wedding and does not include weekends. if you are getting married on a friday you have to be there tuesday so your two full days would be wed and thurs. this does not apply to your guests only the couple.

    that happened to me too. flight time went from 9am to 7am. not that big of a difference so it did not bother me much. i had to book air jamaica cuz they were having a sale that i could not pass up. and they are the only nonstop flight from my area and it was worth it to me. i just hope they dont cancel the flight all together or i might be screwed. i just keep checking to see what they are doing.

    i just checked riu prices and they have gone down so many of my guests will be getting a little refund (cuz of the ta we went through), but i am staying at ror from 6/10-6/15 and it cost us about $850p/p. at the time we booked air jamaica was having a sale out of baltimore, md so the tickets were $264p/p. if you look right now they are $500 so that made a big difference. other airlines in the dc area are about $400-$450 right now. i say when you see a deal you can't pass book it then, cuz who knows what will happen.

    i actually never thought of that geology rocks, but i wanted to put them in the oot bags and i definitely don't have enough for that. does anyone know if magnets from vistaprint are strong enough? thanks.

    i love your ttd pics. i never thought of going to the market, but i looooove it. i definitely think i will have to do them now. now i just have to decide if i will use my dress or another.

    Does anyone have a price list for Lee's Tours excursions and transportation to and from the airport? Or do you remember how much your items cost?

    i know how you feel. i gave everyone 18 months to plan and here i am a little less than 4 months away and people are not doing anything. i would rather them say they are not coming than do this. it gets to the point where it is rude. for 2 weeks air jamaica prices were very low, i tried to get everyone to book then. of course some didn't and somehow it is my fault. now the price is almost $500 and i don't care anymore. i don't want to hear about it. i have been to 11 weddings in 2.5 years and i never did this to one of the couples. i want to go elope and forget these people.

    i think it depends on where you are going. i am not sure for canada, but i have been told that you cannot bring live flowers from jamaica. that was part of my reason for getting artificial ones.

    we gave everyone 18 months to plan and people are complaining now that it is 4 months out. i can't help you and i don't want to hear it. fi and i have been to 11 weddings all over the place and we never complained about the price. on top of that the destinations were nowhere as nice as jamaica. besides the economy, we have 6 couples that cannot attend b/c they are pregnant. yes 6. i told fi the other day we should have had a short engagement and gotten married 6 months after we got engaged...the economy was better and no one was popping out babies. i can sympathize.

    We are having our wedding at ROR and honeymooning at CSA. I don't think it is necessary to get a suite at ROR. What room did you get and were you happy with it?

    i am getting married at ROR and honeymooning at CSA. what do i have to do? we are doing a honeymoon registry so i want to include as many options as possible. the resort included things like dunn's river, the dolphin experience, a kingston day tour, and the luminous lagoon. i can add others. any suggestions?

    she told me that as long as the person was your guest they could not stop them from photographing your wedding. i am not sure if they are changing their policy for 2009, but i think that they should. i would rather pay the $200 and not have the hassle.

    that is great. an air jamaica flight from baltimore to montego bay is that price for 1 person. i wish i could get that price. congrats.

    pics are very important to me. i did not like the reviews i was receiving about michael and the photoshop, so i am hiring an outside photographer. as long as you have the person as a guest they cannot stop them from being at the wedding. i did see pics from michael on a ttd session and i was impressed. the quality was a lot better than what he had previously emailed me. if you like what you get the price does not matter, but if you don't like it you can never get that day back.
