  1. MD bride here. i have my dress already, but have fun at ROTB.
  2. i am putting pashminas in the OOT bags for the women. now i need something specifically for the men. something that does not cost too much money and something that they will actually use and enjoy. any suggestions??
  3. your pics are great. i am definitely going to have to do my TTD at Dunns River now. this was already asked, but did you have any issues bringing your own photographer? and was the food in your pics from the Mammee Bay included reception, because that looked good.
  4. if you are placing the order may 11, when would they be shipped. i get married in june and want to maker sure i would have them by the time i leave. if they are going to be delivered before i want to get in on this. i would need 22. so please let me know. thanks.
  5. thanks i really want to use them. guess i better get on with the reservations.
  6. sounds great. you are doing almost the same thing as me so i can't wait to see your pics.
  7. i am wearing one. it is very small though. cost me $50. the dress does look better with it. and since i am wearing the slip i don't have to wear the spanx anymore and i am glad about that. the spanx was for my thighs not my stomach and you wont be able to see that anymore with the slip.
  8. does anyone have the Mammee Bay menu that is included in the package?
  9. i'm going to have blue shoes for the reception. wear your color and be proud.
  10. I got an email back from Sheila's Bakery. The prices are, 3 tier vanilla cakes $350.00US, 3 tier Jamaican fruit cakes $450.00US, 3 tier chocolate cakes $400.00US. The shells will be made from icing sugar. The cake will be delivered and set up for the same cost. I asked for pics of cakes so we will see if I get those.
  11. congrats. thanks for the reviews, info, and pics.
  12. i was going to get my centerpieces from tai flora because i do not want to have to carry too much around after the wedding. do i need to make those arrangements with tai flora separately or can i do it through chandlyn? also if any of you used them, are the items yours after the wedding or are you "renting" them? i do not want them after b/c again i do not want to lug them around.
  13. welcome back. i can't wait to hear how everything went. details.
  14. i have shoulder length hair so they might be an issue, but i'm gonna try it and see how it comes out. if not i will go with my standby of yaki straight and just curl it for a different look.
  15. these are more styles i like. i think i am a braids girl as opposed weaves.
  16. i have had issues with this too. i know someone used sheila's bakery, but they did not have contact info. i contacted ROR and this is the response i got. You may email Sheila at [email protected] i have not done so yet. my ta is trying to get me some cake vendor information from the florist contact she has, but i am still waiting.
  17. lodixon...i see you live in waldorf, i live in pg county. where are you going to get your weave done? i only have a month to figure out what i am gonna do.
  18. all i am looking for is something versatile and low maintenance that will last 2 weeks. i don't want my hair stuck in a bun or a ponytail. i really think braids are my only option b/c i have never done a weave and i don't want my wedding/ honeymoon to be my first experience with one.
  19. ok monique. you are getting married before me, so what are you going to do with your hair. i wish i would have really thought about this earlier. i had just determined that i was going to get braids, but now i see all these options and i just don't know anymore. i usually won't get kinky twists because i don't really like using synthetic hair, but that is an option too.
  20. more questions about tree braids. how will the hair hold up after it gets wet? what will happen when you have to wash it? i have heard of people with weaves saying it took hours to detangle their hair after washing. i definitely do not want to spend hours of my time doing that. danyelle. this is one of my hairstyle options. here are some other styles i have found i really love this one, but it would be my own hair and i don't think it will remain looking good for two weeks of getting wet, washing, humidity, etc. i can't really tell what is going on with her hair here, but i like it. i think my hair may be too long to achieve this look.
  21. another question. i have been looking at pics. are tree braids like crochet braids?
  22. i was trying to research tree braids. do you have to have short hair for it to look like your hair is out and straight? i guess what i am asking is does your own hair get braided all the way to the end of your hair?
  23. thanks for this thread. i have shoulder length (a little longer) natural hair. i want to be able to get my hair wet and not have to worry about it. i think i am going with braids. it was not my first option, but it is the only thing that i can think of that will last 2 weeks. plus i can curl it, wear it straight, get it wet, everything. for the wedding i think i will wear a bun. i was gonna try the wild and curly cuz i love that, but my hair has never been in jamaica heat and my wedding is not the time to try it out. also my fi has said repeatedly that he does not want me having hair frustration during our honeymoon, so braids it is. i an still looking for styles since my hair is longer and its even longer when i blow it out to get the braids.
