  1. Gem - I agree with the girls, if you can, stop reading them because they won't help at all. I was obsessed for months with the Trip Advisor reviews and drove myself nuts! Just to test the theory I read HORRIBLE reviews about a bridal store but they were close by and I had already been to 8 different stores and I didn't want to start having to take a flight to go dress shopping, I had the most wonderful experience at this salon, bought my dress there, met the designer and the owner came out to tell me and my bridal party how entertaining we were and to come back any time. You can't listen to peoples reviews all the time, you just never know. Katie - can you believe it? Private dinners basically making us pay double! This is why I bit the bullet and am having a private reception/dinner on Zocollo Terrace so I can have a dance floor and sound system and all that. The meals aren't that expensive if that helps at all... especially since you're having 18 people it wouldn't be too bad and that includes a full open unlimited bar. Just an option. I asked my WC to let me have my 40 person dinner the next morning @ 10am as a thank you/farewell brunch. They agreed to do that for me so I'm kinda making use of it all I suppose. Just a thought! We need to talk to some past Sky Deck brides!
  2. I am blown away by your pictures, what an amazing wedding~! You looked gorgeous!
  3. You and your husband are so adorable together!! These pictures are great, you look so happy and calm of mind
  4. I agree with the girls, I'm a 6 day a week exerciser and nothing broke my plateau like a severe change in my working out. I was running all the time, dieting and nothing changed for a good year. I finally got so fed up that I bought P90X and enlisted my FI to do it with me - I've NEVER gotten results like this and so fast. People can't even believe it, I had abs visible within month one (I've never seen my abs before this!!!) I heard Chalean Extreme is really great for blasting fat and since I finish my 90 days of P90X next week I'm going to buy Insanity by Beachbody, it's extreme exercising and burns up to a 1,000 cals be day!!! Cutting out carbs a week before your wedding will help you slim down as well, don't cut out all of them, just have one 200 calorie serving per day of something whole wheat, grain etc. Good luck, you've still got time, you can totally do it!
  5. Sam - You arrive on my wedding day! Maybe we could carve out a moment for a tequila shot BDW style
  6. I know this is sorta off topic but Katie do you know any details about the Sky Deck? Are guests allowed to hang out there while we do our photos? I don't want to do a separate cocktail hour due to $$$. I just can't figure out what to do with everyone in between ceremony (pictures) then reception? Suggestions?
  7. I am using Chris Schmitt Photography - Chris Schmitt Photographers-Destination Wedding Photography A friend of mine who got married last year used him and loved him and showed me her albums and everything. I got a decent deal, he's traveling for free and doing an engagement shoot, trash the dress and an extra free hour on my wedding day
  8. Caligirl - Yes you can be a two dress bride! The first thing I wanted to do after I bought my dress was get another one for my trash the dress shoot... my first one is too pretty to ever destroy
  9. I agree with dress 1! You're a beautiful girl and really pull all of them off but dress one was different, sexy yet classy. LOL, when I was looking at the pictures, I was like, OMG! That's Mary Lynns! (I bought my dress there) and then looking at the second and third I was like OH, Rose Petals! I went to 8 bridals stores in LA
  10. Congrats and welcome Marie!! I got engaged two days after Valentine's Day and am having my wedding at Azul Sensatori next May! Come join our thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...cons/icon1.gif A few of us just posted our wedding dresses up there Good luck!
  11. Gorgeous! You are such a natural beauty! I love Santa Barbara so much, that was my original choice for my wedding. Congrats

Katie. I was only able to take photos of my dress AFTER I bought it =/
  13. Meghan, that's perfect! I actually on my wedding website have a food poll when the person RSVP's it asks what food choice they'd like meat, seafood, vegetarian or allergic/special needs. That way I have the exact number of what I need so I'm glad that I can mix
  14. Allisa!!! I didn't get to see the bottom of your dress before, I love it! That dress looks incredible on you, seriously like it was made for you and I love the black ribbon. It seems to suit you. How exciting!
  15. Wow you girls are so colorful! I'm not a bright colors girl so this this was tough for me as I originally was only going to do black and ivory "elegance in the sand!" haha! Sorry I don't have an inspiration board because I print out everything and rip stuff out of magazines so I actually have a fabulous book I've put together that I bring with me and show vendors. My colors and black, ivory and natural greens if that makes sense, here are some pix to give you an idea: bridesmaids bouquet table inspiration: Save the Date boarding passes (bad lighting)
  16. I agree with pork, sounds more wedding like I'm going with menu two and going to try and mix and match, I'm gonna need luck with that
  17. From the email I was talking about that I sent Tuesday, I got 6 people booked and two more booking tomorrow! Success! I'm gonna keep it up Gentle annoyance is the way to go
  18. Allisa your dress is beautiful! I love the birdcage veil too, I'm totally doing the same thing. My dress has a CRAZY train too which I didn't even want but fell in love with the dress, the bustle looks ridiculously awesome too. I don't know how I am going to manage being 1 month away from my wedding, I'm already freaked out! I can't wait to hear all about and see pics of course
  19. Christie that's a great story! I mean, the happenings were terrible but what a great man, totally pulled you out of a time when nothing was going right and did exactly what he needed to to make you incredibly happy It's truly a unique story that's for sure!
  20. Congrats and welcome Shirley! You will find all the other brides here are SO helpful!
  21. Katie - I was just in this EXACT same position... the dress I posted on here that I bought I emailed to my mom and my bridesmaids and all the bridesmaids loved it, my mom said it wasn't appropriate for a beach wedding, even though I'll be on the sky deck. That's what prompted my frantic thread asking if it was an appropriate dress or not. I told her to save her judgements for Sunday when I tried it on for her and all my bridesmaids. When I came out, they all gasped and I turned around and saw her nodding and looked at me and I said, "this is my dress isn't it?" They all said, yes, OMG, that is SO your dress. Moral of the story... go with your heart, it's hard to see a dress on a stranger and convince others it's your dress sometimes, when they see it in person it's different. Good luck!
  22. We are driving to Vegas about a month or so after the wedding with my MOH & her husband and our Best Man and his girlfriend and we're doing a little white chapel legal ceremony maybe by Elvis? I want FI to wear a cheesy suit and we'll take ridiculous pictures, I'm so stoked about the Vegas wedding it's ridiculous!
