Congrats and welcome! You'll find so many creative and amazing ideas for your wedding here
  2. Congrats and welcome! This forum is SO helpful!
  3. Juliez - I don't know how to do it but you should be able to find a way to make it longer. Which dress did you order, put up a pic if you can
  4. OMG, #6 is stunning! I did a little gasp actually, seriously I did Let us know what you choose!
  5. I myself was set on having a September wedding but after a lot of debating decided it was too big of a risk and went with May, I'd rather have guest spend more money to avoid a hurricane. Good luck!

  7. I'm going to try and put in things I always forget or things I'm really glad I brought like Emergen-C packets, lip balm, gum, key card tip money holder I think is a really good idea too. There are so many threads on here that have hundreds of suggestions like the Master OOT bag list under it's section.
  8. Katie - my photog is doing a free TTD for me! So drop my name and I'll tell him to give you a good deal too, he's already expecting to hear from you as I told him you were interested to make sure he was coming early enough to shoot your wedding. Good luck!
  9. I'm having a custom made birdcage veil from a girl on Etsy - VintageBox1947 VintageBox1947 on Etsy - Boutique for Exotic Hair Accessories
  10. MrsVaughn2B -3 or 4 days in the Jr. Swim up Suite I am in the swim up swim next to my guests for 4 nights and then move to the Honeymoon suite on my wedding day for 3 nights and for the two of us I am paying $2,000 which includes tax and transfers.
  11. Like many other girls here I had never even heard of it until BDW! I keep imagining myself running around barefoot throwing sand at my FH or swimming and splashing and dunking him, sexy right? I think it's just about having fun, doing what you please, not worrying about what happens to your dress and celebrating the first day of your marriage =)
  12. I'm getting my TTD from here I think, been going back and forth on it for awhile now
  13. OMG that gave me chills, that is such a wonderful engagement! With all your friends and family there! Congrats & welcome to the forum!
  14. Wow what a huge help this has been! I've been humming songs at work all day and nodding All I have is the ceremony music picked out: Wedding party - Feeling Good - Michael Buble (mom doesn't like this idea, what do you think?) Bride - Something - The Beatles Recessional - I've got to break free - Queen Reception introduction - Black and Gold - Sam Sparro I'm going pretty non-traditional here it seems!
  15. Oh wow Ash!! That's a big difference =/ Katie - My photog is still available for you! No travel fees, no $500 fee to Karisma You are reaping all the benefits, just thought I'd let you know
  16. Just wait until month 3 where you have 3 carbs a day and feel like you're cheating, it's great
  17. Does anyone mind sharing the room rates they got from their TA compared to the rates on the Karisma website? I'm almost afraid to ask but if you don't mind I'd love to compare and make sure I don't have to freak out on my travel agent. =)

I figured not everyone would come, I will have closer to 50ish as well but I know some that probably won't be up by 10am the next morning and some that are leaving that Sunday. So I figured I'd be safe
  19. I didn't read the other posts, so sorry if this is redundant! I actually got engaged 3 months after my best friend of 25 years. Unspoken rules are that you are priority and you get the first choices. I definitely think you should sit down with her and say that you know you'd definitely appreciate a time of it being all about her and you'd like to be able to focus on one wedding at a time as you will each be helping each other I assume. My engagement was in February 2008 and I'm not getting married until May 2010. It's because my BF decided to get married June 2009 and I wanted us to be able to be there for one another, focus on the other ones wedding and not combine it. It worked perfectly and it was definitely the best and easiest route. I didn't mention my wedding until after her wedding and now it's all about me and I'm glad I get to have the spot light for once. After I went dress shopping and purchased my dress I was so greatful I didn't have to share that moment with someone else. Good luck, just talk to her about it

When we booked the recession had not yet hit and what we thought was a reasonable price for the resort at the time has become too much for our guests to handle right now. We got the feeling that people were saying they would go but really couldn't afford to and would be strapping themselves to do so. We did not want to put that burden on anyone. The thing that sucks is that we are probably going to loose or $3000.00 dollar deposit!! This forum has been really helpful and all of you ladies are so friendly. I wish you all the best on your day! I'm so sorry to hear that! It's definitely been a struggle for me as well, so I know where you are coming from. Good luck, you'll have a fabulous wedding no matter where you get married since you're marrying the love of your life
  22. Katie - Well it's good to hear that our guests won't be kicked off the skydeck while we take photos! We'll just have to make it quick if possible and just maybe have an annoucement that guests may mingle and to be at the named reception spot by a certain time, or have a program that's states as such so people aren't confused. Also, they do get a welcome cocktail as they are seated which should hold people for at least an hour. Also if we have music going for them it should be fine. I'm not paying for a cocktail hour and horderves at ANOTHER location. I'm having my private dinner @ Zocollo Terrace because it's large, enclosed with a bar, room to dance and you can pull the shades if it gets cold, windy or rainy. I believe the minimum is 40 guests though. For my 40 person meal at Spoon, I already booked it. I figured I might as well since I know I wanted a Sunday farewell brunch for my guests and I got a confirmation from Kiara, my WC.
  23. I hate Core Synergistics so much... superman banana always results me rolling into furniture and my FI I'm on week 12 of P90X (last week) and I'm still sore, it's amazing how that hasn't gone away yet!
  24. How exciting! Do you know how to use Photo Bucket? Sign up for a free account and you can upload the pictures and then put the URL in the post, easiest way!
