  8. Thank you!! Oh that's good to know, I'm not too familiar with the area surrounding my resort so I'll look into finding once closer. Thanks again, Amy <---- my name as well
  9. You also can decide what's most important to you and what's least important. Some people (like myself) find the pictures the most important and worth spending money on. Flowers to me are less important as I'm getting married in a tropical area so I pick and choose what I spend money on and in other areas I cut out or find good deals for. DIYing can (sometimes) save a lot of money and most of the time the purpose of a destination wedding is to save money and not have to invite everyone you know. I'd pick a number that is the maximum you want to spend on your wedding and work within that. So for example if your wedding budget is $12,000 spending $5,000 on photography or a dress won't work. You can then adjust your budget once you get in all the big necessary items like location/reception/food cost and adjust as you go along. Good luck

Everything is going to work out perfectly, I just know it

  12. It definitely is a compliment that she loves all your ideas enough to use them in her own wedding... On the other hand she should have ASKED you if you minded is she used your ideas for her inspiration as well. ESPECIALLY taking your venue... that's just not right and having her wedding before yours. Afterwards, fine, you had it first and everyone will know that. You should just encourage her own taste and some things she's not taken from you so she can get a sense of individuality. Remind her that her wedding should reflect her own personality despite how similar you may be. Gently let her know that your weddings yet close should still be unique to each style and taste.
  13. Ok, TOTALLY love these! They are unique and non-traditional which I'm all about. I agree, the seashell doesn't quite fit but either way they are fantastic. Good job!

  15. Wow!!! They look great, how very crafty of you! Good job, thanks for sharing
  16. Oh no!!! Good luck, I'm sending you my positive thoughts and I hope it avoids Cabo altogether!
  17. How can you turn down free?! I felt the same way, what's the point? Right until my photographer told me he'd throw mine in for free as well... then I said, what the heck! I did mine yesterday in Downtown LA, 104 degree heat inside Union Station, no AC. So it was uncomfortable but I had SO much fun I'm shocked at how amazing the experience is. It's photos of us young and in our 20's I'm going to love showing my kids and grandkids one day and it was free. I say if you can convince him to just have fun with it then definitely go for it!
  18. I personally like dress #1 as well, it's beautiful and I love the top of it. It's hard to decide but try it on again and see how you feel. I was unsure of my dress at first too because it's so different and not beachy but the second time I put it on I was absolutely positive about it.
  19. Thank you inspiredfrye! Fortunately she's never been like that before and isn't like that now so I'm thinking the lack of finances for the wedding itself caused that. To me, I'd bite the bullet and pay a little extra to so people that I appreciate them rather than put in some serious labor. She kinda came around and gave me a long verbal thank you a few weeks after the wedding when things were back to normal and we worked things out so at least it has a happy ending. I myself did learn an important valuable lesson and full intend on showing her the right way to treat a wedding party
