I am getting married at Sensatori on May 10, 2010 and am PUMPED!! I have a few questions though that I'm hoping you wonderful ladies can help me out with. I'm not sure if this is something we discuss on here but here goes: A handful of our guests may have a tough time affording this gourmet-inclusive so naturally I want to get them the best rate. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to get the best rates for our guests and am wondering what kinds of rates have you guys been able to get for your guests (circa May 2010)?? Have you gotten better rates dealing with the resort directly or an outside TA? Is there a price-guarantee in effect (i.e. if the prices go down, will they go down also for guests who have already booked?). Any help or advice that you could provide would be phenomenal... THANK YOU!!! Mocashman, welcome to the thread and congrats on booking!! I will be there on Monday that you are getting married, my wedding is May 8th 2010 =) How exciting! Ash is right, you should check both, I am using destinationweddings.com and they seem to have a similar rate to Karisma, sometimes lower. Let me know if you have any questions since we will be there at the same time, we should say hi and grab a drink! =)

Congrats!!! Did you opt to buy a car? I am leasing a car and have no clue what to do when my lease is up in 2 1/2 years... LOL, I've got some time though

Post your bouquet and inspiration pics here

So here is what I was GOING to use with dress #1 (good thing I decided to wait to order the flowers until we got a little closer to the wedding, or I would have had to pay for 2 sets of flowers because I changed my mind on the dress!): OLD Dress From David's Bridal: OLD BOUQUET (from Plumerias Wedding Flower Boutique): NEW SOTTERO & MIDGLEY DRESS OF MY DREAMS!!! NEW BOUQUET (also from Plumerias Wedding Flower Boutique) The ribbon arouind the Handle will be Ivory, and I'm not going to use the butterfly: And since I've decided NOT to have bridesmaids, both of the Mothers will be carrying this bouquet (also with Ivory ribbon around the handle instead of the blue pictured here): And last but not least, my FI as well as both fathers will be wearing this awesome bout, again, with Ivory ribbon instead of pink: I couldn't be more thrilled, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with Roberta of Plumerias Wedding Flower Boutique! She incredibly talented, quick to respond to questions/emails, and her prices are 100% reasonable! GORGEOUS Christie!!! You inspired me to look into her I haven't heard back from Shavon and just spoke to someone else yesterday that I believe was pretty overpriced so I hope Roberta works out well for me. I can't wait to see your wedding pictures, your new dress and flowers are to DIE FOR! XO Amy -
Congrats and welcome futuremrslutz!! We're all Azul Sensatori brides here but I believe there is actually an Azul Beach thread as well if you search for it. I know one of us beckerba has moved from Azul Sensatori to Azul Beach so she may know more about it than most of us =) Like Nicole said the packages don't come with a lot, just some basics. Cocktail hour is a separate cost, same with the private receptions. If you do a private event at a restaurant it comes with an open bar. If you have dinner on the beach I believe the meal plan you choose comes with an open bar. PM me if you want the 45 page PDF on meals and cocktail options with pricing. Amy

nsbride2010 - I don't think anyone will notice either way but do a couple of test runs to get the feel of how much pressure to apply, it's not a lot of pressure needed, I ruined few of my precious boarding passes not realizing it before I got the drift It definitely adds a fun touch, try it out and see what you think!

I just got their email for a bunch of free stuff including postcards! I'll email it to anyone who wants it! Also, I just ordered my post cards on Saturday, I googled "VistaPrint promo code" and found a website filled with codes. Since I was logged into my account I would click the promo link and it would automatically tally the discount. I went from $130, to $100 to $80!! For $80 I got double sided image postcards, 3 different kinds (300 of them) and 250 business cards high gloss for my keycard holder. I'm so stoked to receive them!

Former sorority sister STOLE MY DATE!!
KittenHeart replied to brandynd's topic in Just venting or funnies
Wow that's just evil... she knew what she was doing and is justifying her actions unreasonably. She's affecting herself too which is dumb! She doesn't know who is going to go to who's wedding, what if no one showed at hers? Good luck, I think bumping it up is the graceful thing to do instead of going Bride Wars about it! I hope it works out the best for you! -
They look wonderful!! I was just nodding my head reading about how you wanted to give up and it was such a big job but totally worth it. I did the same thing and the corner punch made me want to lose my mind! Perforating was a b*tch too! If you did it too hard it would be floppy. I had originally planned to do passport invites as well but after that, I have promptly hired someone with more sanity than me to complete them

Has anyone used Shavon's Wedding Silks?
KittenHeart replied to Jacilynda's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Ok this makes me feel much better... I think. I requested a quote from Shavon, she got back to me about two weeks later. We discussed options, she sent me pictures and then I wrote her back with my final decision over a month ago... she hasn't gotten back to me since. I even wrote her and asked if I offended her LOL! Nothing... This makes me weary of doing business with someone that is so bad at responding to emails =/ -
I got verbal agreements before I sent my STD's then sent out STD's with RSVP info and every few months I email everyone nudging them to book or RSVP. I just order 3 different postcards from VistaPrint I designed. One with the RSVP by date, self addressed and stamped in an envelope so they can mark if they are coming and toss back in the mail or go to our website and let us know. For those who have RSVP'd I've created a book by postcard and lastly a thank you to those who have booked reminding them they need a passport and to look for the official invite coming soon. Getting people to RSVP/Book is like pulling teeth, keeps me up at night but I'm just gonna roll with it and not try and get too worked up over it. Good luck!

No but it's beautiful!! Good luck, you could try emailing it to bridal stores, they may want you to come in before they tell you though. -
Cigars as favors?
KittenHeart replied to TCIbride's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I was thinking the same thing, cigars I think are a great manly gift! Something to do at the moment that bonds them together. I plan on buying them at the resort when we get there, a lot of them sell boxes of real cubans! -
How sweet!! You definitely deserve it, I'm glad your feeling better
-
I'm sorry to hear that! I'm sure we've all had a similar situation with naysayers or downers or family that gives you hell (my own mother as well doesn't like to fly so thinks she doesn't need to come) lame excuse... Just know there are sacrifices with having a destination wedding but the point is that YOU are getting married and celebrating a long happy life with your FH. Surround yourself with positive people and people that want to help. Maybe get some people involved and so they feel more a part of the whole process. I learned lately that some of my bridal party REALLY wants to be involved but I want to do everything myself so I cut them out... which I shouldn't. As long as I show them plans and ask their opinion they're happy Good luck!
