Hey Nicole! 3 weeks until your wedding, so exciting!!! Please... don't be jealous, I spend what feels like most of my thoughts on new and different tactics to get people to respond. Also... I'm in sales, corporate software sales, and before that I was in marketing for 3 years and the combo of the two have me using all my skills and tactics relentlessly. I put FAR too much effort in getting people to respond... soooo I'm a dork is what it boils down to =) Don't be jealous of that! I know this might be weird, but there are SO many makeup tutuorials on YouTube it's amazing, for my bridal shower I wanted a vintage/pinup sorta hair style so I watched a few of those and just duplicated it, pretty simple. That's a free option at least!

Thanks girls!!! I wanted to be an event planner for awhile and did stuff with a friend but start up money is difficult. Lindz if I wasn't planning my own wedding, I'd do yours on the house as my practice wedding I'm happy to help you all as much as possible, makes my own efforts feel more worth while, LOL!

After having been engaged and planning for 18 months now, I can tell you this.... Anyone that freaks out about money, tells me they can't go, or gives me any crap about this I simlply respond. "Thanks for letting me know, I totally understand." You would be SHOCKED to find out that those same people have relaxed... and come back to me going... "oh you know, I still have time, I'll work it out" I'm not letting anyone get to me, I'm doing this my way, they can hop on board or not, just don't let it get to you. The drama created by others for YOUR wedding is ridiculous, don't even give it the time of day (don't fuel their fire with arguement) and the fire will die. Good luck and keep your chin up! Things will work themselves out.

Haha thanks Andrea!! It's my one natural talent... organization, how boring but it's coming in use now I'm a problem solver too so I'm always trying different solutions. VistaPrint worked perfectly for the postcards too. Three months!! OMG, that's so crazy, I'm down to 6 and it makes me seriously nervous. How exciting about your dress too!

I was talking about FI last night about how the world is so electronically based it's amazing... SO I sent out my 3 different postcards I had made up to follow up my STD's I sent out May 1st this year... so October 1st I sent them all out. For people that hadn't RSVP'd I created a postcard asking them to RSVP by 12/31/2009... which I know is early but I'm REALLY trying to get people to PLAAAAN ahead of time. I created the postcard self address to me and FI, stamped it and have areas to check yes, I plan on attending or no, we are unable to make it. To cover all my bases, I included my wedding website at the bottom of course. So responses started coming in, people RSVPing that that will or won't make it, so these postcards totally worked and I'm happy about that... BUT the funny thing is, MOST people went to my website which is much more work than putting a check mark on a line and tossing it in the mail... I thought I'd let you all know that I have gotten the BIGGEST response from people when I email them... or direct them to my website. Email STD's might be a better idea if you're considering it. I am a memento fan so I like to keep stuff and one of the reasons why I did the STD... besides its up on my friends fridges which makes me super happy to see when I go over their house. The other postcards were booking nudges (which they will put up on their fridge and be a constant reminder to get to booking). I'm encouraging but not demanding people book by the end of this year too. How awesome would that be?! Third postcard is a thanks for booking don't forget your passport. Hope all you ladies are doing well! I'm onto my placecards now and considering hiring a DJ after thinking about having to download 5 hours of music...

Bridesmaids were a nightmare!!!
KittenHeart replied to endlesslove's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Wow, that's kinda shocking that they would travel all the way out there to treat you like this in your own home! Did anything else happen to cause their behavior? Friends, let alone bridesmaids don't fly out to stay at someone's house and ruin a friendship... Good luck, I hope you get this all sorted out! -
Mom just informed me they wont go to mexico

No parents or siblings coming to mine either... you'd be suprised at how often this is the case for DW. Sad isn't it? -
What's something you saw at a wedding that made you swear...
KittenHeart replied to yamille's topic in Random Thoughts
OMG Christie... what is she thinking?! Why would she do that? The only thing that comes to mind that would motivate something so odd in my mind is money, saving it that is. LOL, I'm sorry word of mouth invites? Does she want everyone she's ever met to show up and JUST for the ceremony? This is comical, I hope you can convince her to do the logical thing. I know you know this put she could buy card stock for $10 and print free DIY downloadable invites herself if she's trying to save money, if it's time she wants to save that's another story entirely Good luck honey, I couldn't imagine having to deal with all this while trying to plan your amazing and logical wedding! -
Yeah I'm feeling better, it's just dragging... I'm on week 3 of not 100%! I hate it, especially since I never get sick, I think this is the first time this year! I'm not sure if you're doing a wedding website but I HIGHLY recommend it! I got asked the same question one million times and I just always have people refer back to my website so they get used to checking there because it's all simply laid out for them. Oh yeah, I think I showed you mine! Anyways, people will ask you tons of questions and all the same questions, it just get's annoying after awhile

Hey Lindz - No I've never heard of that before! I just googled it and it's not anywhere near me in Los Angeles, oddly enough. Oh well, I'm just waiting to fully recover from this illness and my NY trip to start, I'll let you know when I do. Probably 2 weeks. I am a big DIY/Customization person so I made mine myself. The pictures aren't great but here's my thread to my STD's: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...overdue-46948/ I sent them out so they would arrive exactly 1 year from our wedding date.

For a TTD it's not too practical as it's on the expensive side. I'd try it for my wedding dress that's for sure
