I decided to be weird and do the total opposite of beach themed Vintage inspired tree's and birds

Katie - I have to find the humor in things... this is nowhere in the ballpark the same as your bridesmaid situation but one of my guests just gave me the same speech. We were supposed to meet for coffee and had to cancel twice so she's cancelling her trip to Mexico for my wedding because we just "aren't close friends." Gotta love people! It's funny because she's right, we're not close and I'm actually really happy she cancelled. Just thought it was interesting that happened to both of us on our 5 month mark! Hope you're doing well!

Thanks Nicole!! Katie - Good luck hun, this is a lot to deal with for sure. I'm not sure what you're going to decide on but I'd speak to her in person next if possible and just pull the string a bit... find out what her intentions were in that text. It did sound like she was ending a friendship which is pretty cowardly to do via text. We're all here for you babe! XOXO

Nicole - haha SORRY!! Lindz & Katie are referring to my Facebook status yesterday.... my father passed away 10 years ago yesterday and I decided instead of trying to pretend it was just any other day and it never happened, which usually results in a horrible day ending in tears... strange I know but I decided to do the opposite. Focus on the good times and announce it to the FB world to just confront the fact it happened and I don't have to be sad about it. I used Facebook as my therapy yesterday, haha, I know, lame but it totally worked.

I too have been planning on doing this! Now if I could only decide what I want it to look like I could start on it At the moment I'm making flower/feather fascinators for my bridesmaids. For that I bought magnolias at Michaels and really pretty buttons to replace the center of the flower, sewed that together, cut out a few tulle petals for the bottom, bought two different kinds of feathers to glue underneath the flower so they'll look like leaves and those other feathers that on have a little piece of feather at the end of little strand of feather (this doesn't make sense does it!) and I got firm strong felt from Michael's as well. Then I bought aligator clips to glue to the felt, I made one test one that doesn't look too bad, it's smart to get too many as the first one isn't what I want so I'm tweaking it a bit. Good luck ladies! I should post a picture when I'm done, I still need to figure out where to get the proper netting for my veil

A text? Come on... to be honest I'd try and be the bigger person first and if that doesn't work, then find someone to replace her. Let her know that just because she can't take responsibility to ensure she makes herself a part of your wedding, she won't do any damage by not attending, it's not at all about her. This is the thing, when my BF was getting married she never asked me to do anything, she just did her thing and I had to jump in there and find out what I could do or what she needed help with and I had to demand to be there with her for her wedding dress shopping or else she would have done everything alone. Now being the bride I just noticed that she is doing the same to me, I'm doing everything on my own (even tried going dress shopping alone, my bridesmaids put their foot down and wouldn't stand for it) then later I went alone and found the dress I bought. Moral of the story, she may not even understand that she needs to be active in this, she maybe jealous or just may just be going through something and want attention, who knows! One of my bridesmaids called me and left me a voicemail over the summer hysterically crying late at night saying she couldn't come to my wedding and she had the worst day at work. It may not have been the right call but I knew calling her back at that moment would have resulted in a bad, dramatic conversation. So I sent her a lovely email the next morning, telling her that if she couldn't make it due to her job situation I understood and let's get coffee and talk about the problems going on at her job. She's coming now, it turned out she had a bad day at work... so like the girls said, wedding's make people crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy. So good luck girl, I totally rambled, my bad!

The whole wedding planning year has been tough knowing I'll have no parents at my wedding but I'm kind of accepting that it is what it is and I don't need anyone there accept FI.

I'm doing my TTD the morning after the wedding, I think I'll still be glowing and so happy from the night before we might as well try and capture that

Amy - Nicole's right it's a Boudoir Shoot which is a lingerie photo shoot that you do typically in a bedroom (or boudoir) and you have a book made of your sexy photos and you give it to your FI as a wedding gift so he sees it as he's getting ready before the wedding and he's suprised and wow'd If you search it here on BDW, you'll find many threads and examples of photos. I know a few of us on here plan on doing it.

Happy Monday ladies! I was good this weekend, knocked a few things off my list and naturally, added a few more I did a wire transfer and booked my DJ I bought my TTD dress off of Duosheng I got a facial and made a wedding facial plan, my facialist was amazing and had just gotten married in October and we shared our Etsy finds and she gave me some BD shoot tips, it was a lovely hour long facial that I desparately needed! I bought candles for my dinner reception tables & feathers for fascinators I'm making for my bridal party. I also went out for a friends birthday on Friday and without my even mentioning my wedding a huge conversation of our bachelor/bachelorette parties, booking and fun we are going to have started and I was like, wow people are excited, this is so amazing! I definitely feel more calm this week Although Katie with her announcements always makes me freak out, my 5 month mark is tomorrow!!!
