We are thinking of maybe going to Cozumel for the second week...but still totally up in the air.... We stayed for 12 nights and it was the perfect amount of time! We arrived on Monday, had Tuesday & Wednesday to chill out, meet with the coordinator, test our signature drinks, scope the property, practice our first dance by moonlight up on the Skydeck (snuck up there one night), prepare all our OOT bags & fill our little bags with Jordan almonds etc. By time everyone arrived I was ancy and couldn't wait for them to arrive. Thursday were our bachelor/bachelorette parties in Cancun, Friday we had rehersal dinner and ceremony rehersal (once again in the dark which was hilarious) and then a Mojito welcome party with everyone. Saturday was the wedding, Sunday most people left and the last left on Tuesday which we then moved to another resort in Cancun until Friday. Moving to another resort for 4 days was HEAVEN and such a great decision. It was the resort I originally wanted to have my wedding at and it was definitely more pricey than AS. The food at this place was just unbelievable and it was so gorgeous. We just slept, relaxed and did a zipline/cenote excursion one day. It was the perfect trip, I wouldn't change it for the world. Then we had Saturday & Sunday to relax after going back to work on Monday.

Limes & peacock feathers centrepiece
KittenHeart replied to ~Angela~'s topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Wow Ange, I think it's really unique! I was thinking maybe less limes and floating candles but I don't want the peacock feathers to catch fire, haha I'm gonna think and see if can come up with any other options. -

(I'm trying to avoid having too much to stress about once we get down there before the wedding - knowing myself I'll want as little to obsess over as possible). If they don't go to one of the other girls that have already asked for them here, then I'll let you know They are white lights, natural colored paper lanterns. We inserted a clear plastic tab inbetween the batteries so all they had to do was pull it out and boom, light goes on. We attached it to a monofilament clear loop which hung in the center of the lantern. It's the easiest thing in the world.

Di - Mexican lasagna or casserole as my BF and I call it is my ABSOLUTE fav! I love adding corn kernals to it and a verde sauce and maybe some light sour cream. Mmmm!

Confession #1 I know we've agreed to wait and that our finances are not at a place they should be for us to be starting a family...But I wanted to cry when I got my period last week(the first one since the honeymoon.) Before the wedding it was, I wanna wait until we're married to try, and now that we are my mind knows it's not the right time but my heart reeeeally wants a baby. Confession #2 I also want to curl up into a ball and cry because we STILL don't have our professional wedding pictures. Everything didn't go hunky dory at the wedding and I was all excited to see the pictures people put up on facebook for me so I could see that they were all enjoying themselves, but I really wanted to see the professional pics to know that it was all worth it(especially since this guy was anything but professional, even if he is talented and has a good portfolio). And as of right now, it's been over a month since the wedding and I haven't heard from our photographer in 2 WEEKS! No preview or teasers or even an update e-mail. He said he had to cancel our appointment to pick up the pictures 2 weeks ago because he needed one more day and hasn't answered any of our calls or e-mails since. My mom sent him an e-mail today and gave him until Monday to contact us. Then she's going to do a paypal dispute on the deposit. That should get his attention. But it's not about the money, those are our wedding pictures!!! I'm also pissed off about it because DH's Gram turned 74 yesterday and all she asked us for as a birthday present was a small album of wedding pictures she could keep in her purse to show off to people. We both love this woman so much and it made me so mad that 5 weeks after our wedding we had nothing to give her but some blurry facebook pictures and a promise of an album soon. Phew...thanks for the vent. Sorry if I sound like a B....:/ Awww, your time for a baby will come, don't you worry!! You're being smart to get more financially stable first, I'm doing the same thing! A LOT of photographers take around 6 weeks to get you photos so just know that it's not totally abnormal. He shouldn't be ignoring your emails though, that's just rude and unprofessional!

I'm worried about how finicky or complicated it might be to do them DIY once we're down there. Advice?!? I'm gonna jump in here and comment on a question not directed to me for a second I made the "throwies" for my paper lanterns and they worked great. Pretty easy too. I have some lanterns and lights already made left over I was planning to sell. We DIY'd them before we left and came up with a pretty brilliant method of making them easy to "activate" let the light shine, so to speak. I definitely wouldn't recommend assembling them down there.

Vegas Hotels: the good & BAD!
KittenHeart replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Weddings in Las Vegas
I put my photographer up at Signature MGM when I had my Vegas legal day 2 weeks ago and he loved it! Granted no casino, no smoking so if you don't mind that I'm sure you'll love it! -
Sucky SIL, LOL! I seriously can't understand what I spent my time doing before BDW!
-
My SIL didn't come to our wedding either and ignored my invite to come to our Vegas legal wedding should could have DRIVEN to in a few hours. I mean didn't even respond to my email. She also got mad at me when I told her that I was going to DIY the hair flowers for the girls in my wedding instead of hiring her to make them acusing me of using another friend to make them instead. I made all 6 of them for $50 total where she was going to charge me that PER hair flower... riiiiippp offf. It's been over a year and she hasn't talked to me since. Petty! I even hand made something really special for my now niece she had last year and she goes "how much did THAT cost you?" I was like, I told you I MADE it. Sad, I was excited to finally have a "sister" no such luck! So just know you ladies are not alone.
