We can't even get together at Christmas...so this is a TREAT and completely worth it in the Grand Scheme of things ;-) I would rather the vacation, memories and great time, then the extra $1,000 down the line... Well said!!! What a wonderful attittude, I love it

Fabulous news, I can't wait to receive mine
  3. I too posted on your thread, love them, they look great!
  4. What a great idea! Totally practical and something I'd love to get... and the price is great!

I also read that a girl put a obvious sign with her stuff that read "NOT FOR RESALE" and they pretty much saw it and left her stuff alone. I know this all sounds scary and daunting but I'm confident things will be totally fine for any of us bringing stuff. I heard one girl brough 12 extra suitcases. You just explain you're getting married, they won't care.

THinking should I do them myself ahead of time or use theirs...if I DIY then should I ship...would that cost outweigh doing it myself... Also...what does Siggy mean?? hahahha I have no clue. No shipping at all, it's VERY iffy and we aren't allowed to ship directly to the resort. There's a few threads on here and a few nightmare stories I've read where a girl shipped all her OOT (out of town) bag stuff for her guests as their favors ahead of time and found out one week before her wedding customs seized her items. You must go down there with a hired customs official to retrieve it within a week, she found out too late they had burned her boxes due to non retrieval. I bought some extra luggage and am hauling it all down with me and giving some stuff to bridesmaids to bring as well. I really had a tough time deciding what to do since I got quoted $500 per table for my centerpieces. 3 vases each with an orchid stem and candle on top. Soooo after a lot of deliberating, I decided to get real touch stems for my centerpieces and rent just the vases from them and bring my own candles. Siggy means signature, as in your signature picture, the one at the bottom of every post.

In order to keep it somewhat contiguous, I'm having white fabric and white flowers, that way, no clashing. I also have the luxury of having cream/off white as one of my theme colors.

I ordered my flowers in September of 2009 and scheduled my delivery for mid-March. So I ordered mine way in advance. I would email her and see if she is able to do yours in a short period of time.

I was confused at first because I thought it was later this month and I figured you would have said something Well it's gorgeous, love it, now your BD is going to be even better, I know it!

Hahaha, I actually am MUCH more relaxed. I had a bunch of people book recently and things are going well so I'm not as on edge. I also decided, no matter what happens I'm not stressing it. I'm 2 months out, it will be fabulous one way or the other. I too heard that the ceremony will be in English... I'm writing it so if she feels like translating that into Spanish on a whim, I say go for it, maybe I wouldn't cry and I could get some good calm looking ceremony photos

I love working with Sharon, she is wonderful and very accomodating and helpful. My proof photos are coming in 2 weeks and I'll post my flowers. I got quoted by the resort thousands of dollars for bouquets and centerpieces and I just felt it a huge rip off.
  13. This deserves its own post but Katie I love your BD siggy pic!!! When do we get to see more?! Don't hold back on us girl! We have almost twin-like sig pix too! Well done you! (hee hee) I can't wait to see more!!!

  15. It is a great deal if the quality is good, sheesh I wish mine only cost that much... I think my photog has been my biggest expense so far!
  16. Wow!! My wedding is one week after yours and I have a LOT of my projects left to do... so at this point I give myself 7-days to finish them all and catch up to you because I'm totally jealous you're all done! I love your bouquet... I know what Etsy bouquet you're referring to and you could have told me it was the same one and I would have totally believed you, VERY talented!

We're putting so much into the Mexico ceremony (we've asked my brother to officiate in Mexico and we're writing the ceremony ourselves, for example), and we're putting nothing into our legal ceremony. So, our families have been okay with it thus far. We're treating Mexico like it is our legal ceremony; it's the one with meaning in our books. However, no one knows when we're actually going to the JP. That's our little secret Thank you! I can't wait, I'm happy I'm so close to Vegas so we can just drive there. That's awesome, April 1st is a great day to get married. My BF/MOH had her first baby on April 1st and her boyfriend at the time called to let me know her water broke that day and I refused to believe him that she was in labor because he is a serious jokster... she grabbed the phone and says, "it's true! My water broke an hour ago, I'll let you know when I'm at the hospital" I felt horrible.... but it's still funny <---- wow sorry, just totally jacked your post! I'm writing my ceremony too, do you tear up or freakin' cry while writing it? I do EVERY time and this makes me very nervous.

I have seen that some people make silk boquets to match the 'real' brides boquet and bring those. Any thoughts? -Erin Hi Erin! Welcome and congrats! I'm leaving Mexico on the 14th! I'm paying for the fabric, I'm just using white fabric so it's like $60 each I think? I am bringing SO much with me already, I need to rent half and bring half with me. My quote for flowers was so proposterous that I am having real touch flowers and NO real flowers at my wedding. I saved thousands of dollars by doing this. I hired a professional to make all the bouquests, boutinierres, corsages, cake flowers and even centerpiece flowers (they will be submerged in water anyways) and my cost is much less. The downside is having to bring extra stuff but worth the savings.

I've done a lot of "working on myself" in the last 6 months. You're probably right, the dress will fit better this way, I just wasn't anticipating hundreds of dollars more of an expense! Anyways, I've got your site up and ready to look at as soon as lunch hits for me, just based off the couple photos I peaked at, you are a STUNNING bride!!! Love that dress too, so much!

I thought a month before would be ok...What do you guys think? Should we start earlier? You typically wear some of their tanning lotion (which doesn't have SPF in it) and sunscreen isn't normally used. You start with a low time and then gradually increase it. I normally go a few times a week and increase time as I see fit (if I'm pink I do the same time until I'm used to it and no longer pink). I go in there totally naked, you are by yourself in a room with a locked door so I go naked to avoid tan lines. Your FI would go in a different room as they clean the beds after each use. If you have never done this before, I'd suggest maybe 2 months or a month and a half. I take awhile to build up a base and actually start tanning so I started last month and am getting married in May.
  23. Gorgeous!!! I too am biased because I'm using real touch flowers as well. I was even embarrassed at first to even tell any of the girls in my wedding party... I recently mentioned it to them after questions started and their reaction was, "wait, does that mean we get to keep them?!" I said, yeah of course... they were totally thrilled so, it's been one of the best choices so far that's saved me thousands of dollars.

At this point we both just have said, if they show, fine but we aren't going to let them ruin our wedding/honeymoon and we certainly aren't paying for them. It amazes me though how people are...we said from day 1, if you can't afford to go we understand but don't wait to the last minute telling us you can go then canceling. Ugh, that's so frustrating. I had about 3 "We wouldn't miss it for the WORLD! We'll definitely be there's" fall off. I don't understand why people can't plan 5-6 months in advance. I've been engaged for 2 years too and people have known that long in advance that is where we planned to get married. That's the attitude you really have to take at this point, there's no reason to let their lack of planning ruin your day, it's still going to be the best day of your life You have an AWESOME wedding date by the way, we're date twins!!
