  2. Lets see, did I do ANYTHING this week? I repacked 2 suitcases... I spent HOURS on my planning thread, it's ridiculous Spent time looking for a wedding clutch Went shopping all day Saturday, bought some Mexico clothes and shoes Received my Boudoir book! Did our 4th dance lesson, we have the whole dance now and one more lesson to get it down cold. Today I have my 2nd dress fitting and I ate pizza last night and I am the guiltiest person ever (see Diana, love my stupid dairy!) so I'm pretty convinced my dress won't fit. Even though it will... I'm just losing my mind. My hair trial is on Thursday so that's exciting!

LOL.
  5. Katie - can't wait to see your hen night pictures! Sounds like you're staying positive which is amazing, I can't seem to quite get there lately, tell me your secrets, LOL!

Let's just say this past week has been the weirdest week ever in my life. Are you ready for this? Because I sure wasn't..... We're expecting! Unsure of the date still... but it looks like October. Whoops! I hadn't been feeling like myself, I was tired, my chest was super sore, I was nauseated each morning after I ate breakfast and something just told me the check... and now we have a little whoops! We're happy and we are terrified. We planned on trying right after our wedding... I guess we're just 7 months early. They think I might already by at least 6 weeks already. We haven't told anyone expect our parents and MOH, oh and our WC. We're just waiting for the results of all my blood work, to confirm the date and make sure the babies healthy but obviously changes our plans drastically. Our WC told us to keep our November date because we have such a good price, but if we have to move it, there's no way we'll get that price after November at the AS. I just don't know if I would want to take a baby that young to Mexico. She then suggested her favorite result in Cuba for January, which is an option. If we have to move it, it will be to move it back, not up. January/ February seems more ideal. But we don't want to put it off longer than that. It's so crazy that something you are looking so forward to can be changed instantly like this. Don't get me wrong, we're super happy, we just weren't expecting this to happen.. and when I mean little whoops... I mean little whoops. The funny thing is, I've been working out like crazy, eating healthy, losing weight, inches... just let this be a lesson to everyone... LOL OMG! Congrats Crista, that is some crazy news and you're due right before your wedding, hahaha wow!!! Well yes this certainly changes things quite a bit. I know so many girls that start getting healthy and losing weight and get pregnant, it's good timing body wise for sure you're all healthy and starting good habits. Well congrats, still chat with us and keep us updated please! Let us know your decision of course Quote: Originally Posted by amybermuda Yes, I feel so good. Is this a magic grill pan seriously I want one! You should be so, so proud of yourself! WAAHOOO!!

I spent a couple days catching up and I'm glad I did. I am so happy to hear that you all are going through similar things that I am!! The beginning of break from BDW was due to Easter, although I did go try on some wedding dresses during my time off. Then, my break from the site got extended because FI and I had a HUGE fight!! To the point we had to sit back and do some soul searching to make sure this was definitely the right thing to do. So, now we're all happy again but I guess since I hadn't been focusing on getting stuff done for awhile, all my helpers fell off!!! My sister (MOH) sometimes acts like I'm bothering her. My bff (MTOH) is going thru the process of adopting another child (which incidentally may remove her from her MTOH title). My mom...who knows what her issue is? I know that I have been obsessing lately and I mean to the point of tears. I don't want to seem like a brat but I feel like I'm sooo behind in all of this planning stuff and I just don't want to be pulling my hair out the month of. We're getting married in November. I'm in a wedding in October and a co-worker is getting married in December....but I'm the only one still planning stuff!!! Ugh! I don't think it would be so bad if I wasn't in the beginning stages of it all. On top of me having a huge fight with FI and losing all of my help, my grandmother has decided she's going get a passport!? Why does that bother me you ask? Because when it was told to her that we were doing a DW, her initial reaction was, "Well I won't be able to go because don't have the money for that." Ok, we went into this knowing full well that some people wouldn't be able to afford to come. Problem is....she didn't even know how much it cost @ that point!! So, me and my mom (being the suckers we are) said that we'd help her out. Never once did she say she was going to take us up on our offer. I just get word that she's going get a passport. So....are you giving me a hint?! Too bad I think the only reason why she wants to come is because she doesn't want to be the only family member left @ home. Ok, I'm sorry for my rant, but I had to get it off my chest. Sadly, you ladies don't really know me from a can of paint, but the people who do have made me feel like a little brat lately. So, it's nothing but smiles for them lately. They ask how wedding planning is going and I just say, "It's going." So dirtymartini I kinda feel your pain. The only difference is, in the beginning of my engagement everybody was all excited and tripping over themselves to help. I don't know which is worse, starting out thinking you'll have tons of support or starting out with none and prepping yourself for the worst? Anyway, I'm gonna keep it moving and try to get organized. Next task....photographer. I can safely say we've all been here or close to it and BTW, you have plenty of time, seriously it's amazing what you can actually get done in 2 weeks! Regarding the people that want to help you... they need to just get excited again and feel like their needed... I know, I know but it's true. If you yourself and muster up a little excitement go grab coffee with one or a few of them and say, "Hey I'm really getting into planning now and need (fill in the blank) done and thought you'd be PERFECT doing this since you're so creative or good at (fill in the blank). This helps, you need to get people involved or else they feel like they are forcing you. Also, one lesson I learned... don't wait for people to tell you anything because they won't. Just ask, up front and blatantly. Tell your grandmother, are you planning to come to the wedding? I need to know by (fill in the date) so I can plan for it financially, other than that I will consider you not coming. I'm sorry if this comes across rude, it's just how it has to be, direct with no fluff and you'll get answers, I hope, haha! Also, just do one thing at a time... chose a photographer and do nothing else until that's done, then move on to the next item. Keep a list and check stuff off, you'll be moving in no time! I do a to do list for the thread every two weeks, feel free to add some stuff to do and you focus on those items for 2 weeks, it's easier to focus on a small list instead of thinking about your whole wedding all at once. Vent away my dear, this is why we're all here, we all understand exactly what you're going through and have been there. Good luck!
  8. Karen - LOVE the clutches with the inscription inside, so touching! The butterfly bags are super cute, you have great taste!
  9. Congrats!!! Have an amazing day, can't wait to hear all about it when you return
  10. Oh BTW - The door tags look great with the bottom cut off, you wouldn't even know!
  11. Yay Wendy you did such a great job!!!! I love the seahorse! How adorable is he?! I love the Dr. Seuss books as favors, what a brilliant idea and the first page is totally perfect You're going to have such an amazing wedding, I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!
  12. Lolo, Wendy & Amy - Good stuff ladies, all your positive thoughts are nice and relaxing, what would we do without you?!
  13. Sara - engagement parties don't require gifts at all! Also, engagement parties can be thrown anytime in between the engagement and the marriage I now know why other past brides are so interested in my weddings because anytime a friend gets engaged I 20 question them and they get overwhelmed
  14. Sara - those are fun! I have a pair I got as a shower gift I feel like I have to be this "bride persona" with everyone else, that I'm beautiful and happy and blah blah blah. I've started being more honest with people lately and a friend told me to just "keep pretending to be happy for a little while longer" um, why? I'm sick of this question, "OMG, you're getting married! OMG, it's so soon... are you excited??!?!?!" My answer, "NO. I'm stressed." People don't like this answer but tough, hahahaha!!!! Sara - you're right you should have acknowledgment and feel like a bride, people should be happy for you and want to help you absolutely!
  15. How fun Shannon! I love that it's scheduled I bet at one point, the schedule may all go to hell because everyone is having to much fun and not paying attention

Anyways, google it if you have not heard about it _ I am using it to detox after the bachelorette weekend I hope you feel better soon I'm gonna try it! I know I am being dumb too but I wish had just eloped at this point.
  17. Shannon - How fun!! Have an amazing bachelorette, post a pic or 2 and tell us where you went!
  18. Wendy - Man I know how it is, FI and I got into a 3-day fight regarding his Best Man. With regard to the outfit, would you be able to just pick it our for him and him pay for it? It sucks and it's a PITA but it may be better to just ensure he doesn't stand our or look odd. After contemplating this for a long time, I decided to have the boys rent suits and I went and picked them out and pre-paid for it. That doesn't mean that no drama will result but less anyways, I bit the bullet and figured it would just be easiest and hey, there's your gift, enjoy. I'm having a terrible day too, I feel a slight cold coming on, I was 45 minutes late to work this morning (I'm NEVER late, always early in fact) and it's the slowest day in the world today... I have no one helping me with wedding stuff all of a sudden when I need it most and I'm supposed to go out to my 2 BF's birthday party tonight and that's the LAST thing I wanna do... whoa, sorry for the vent. Ok as for weather, it's really never set in stone, it sounds weird but just try and keep positive thoughts and just decide it's not going to rain on your wedding day! I am sending you positive thoughts too, mustering up whatever I can, hahaha!

  20. dirtymartini - Yep, Wendy's exactly right. Her, me, Katie and Lolo all did a photoshoot in lingerie or less etc. I put a book together for my FI to give to him on wedding day, it's leather bound, inscribed and everything.
