Wendy I agree, it's funny now, I was in hysterics Friday night and about to have a total meltdown wedding day... whew so glad it worked out! Well I actually got lucky and found photos of a cake that AS had already made for someone elses wedding and gave them that photo of it! So I knew there were able to make it again

My friend got a spray tan before she left and emailed me tellilng me she looked like Snookie and to beware... totally cracked me up! I got a nice tan, I too had 5 days down there before my wedding and all would have been more smooth had I remembered to sunscreen my face the day before my wedding. Week 2 after my wedding my face peeled off and that was just gorgeous... my MOH happened to have green makeup that reduces the redness in your face! Couldn't believe it!

I had the surf and turf and it was EXCELLENT! Best food I had the whole trip, people raved about it. After Wendy's mention of her cake I opted for the fondant, just so it wouldn't melt. I thought our cake turned out well and I liked it. I brought the flowers, ribbon and cake toppers for it and it tasted good too! It was hazelnut cake with fresh strawberries in the center. They even brought someone up to our room to deliver the rest of it which I ate for breakfast the next morning

I wanted to pass along some little tidbits of advice I got from some of my married friends that really helped me with my wedding day! Some not so glamorous advice... I had a bride friend suggest taking some Tylenol PM the night before the wedding to get a good night’s rest. I am the epitome of "too excited to sleep" so I took this and got a solid 8 hours of rest and felt fresh and energized all day long on my wedding, some of the best advice I've ever gotten. Another piece of advice was to not lose track of hubby for too long during the reception. We go to parties and social events and we basically arrive together and leave together and that it, so remembering to break that habit on my wedding day was something I was so grateful for. We danced, drank and enjoyed the night together without missing out on the separate mingling every once in awhile. Also, no matter what. Do not worry about ANYONE else except you and your soon to be husband on your wedding day. My wedding day was EXTREMELY stressful leading up to the ceremony. Just sit back, get ready and don't freak out. Don't worry about anyone but yourself all night long and you'll be fine. Just so you know, this is why I freaked wedding day before the ceremony. Friday actually forgot to put sunscreen on my face... I burn especially in that heat and I got to my room to shower and get ready for the rehearsal dinner and see my face all burnt. Nose red, forehead red with a nice little white shape of sunglasses over my eyes. I had a freaking meltdown... I started doing my makeup and I had so much different cover-up on it started caking so I had to wash my face and start over which made it more red and this is on my wedding day. So my girls took me on the patio, handed me champagne and a cigarette, put a wet cloth on my face and just changed the subject. I calmed down after that and my MOH actually found some green red reducing makeup that saved the day and my face. I just can't believe I did that... oh man, I worked out but wow what a heart attack. So don't be so excited to go to the pool that you sunscreen your entire body except your face

Plus, my mom's plane ticket doesn't match her passport. Sigh. I don't really know the deal but my sister told me last night that it doesn't match. I need to talk to mom today about it. Amy, I thought you looked radiant and would have not knew that you were sunburned! I had 7 pieces of luggage and brought back 5 because I insisted on bringing back some decor like an idiot. Bringing 4 pieces if you can is VERY smart! I got a sore throat a few days before my wedding that I still have, it must be going around. Take some emergency and try and get some extra rest... I literally partied right through my illness and it's stayed so long because of all the partying I know it. Is there any way to change the name on her airline ticket? I'd have her call and see if that's possible. Thank you so much I got lucky and my makeup worked out pretty good. I think I freaked out more since I did my own makeup, if it was in a pro's hands I wouldn't have worried so much. -

Did you ever have a late night session on the beach drinking? Wondering if the resort is cool with that? I know, newlywed reviews are the best, I thought about you girls along every step just so excited to share good news, especially you girls with less than 2 WEEKS to go! There are iPod's in everyones room like Wendy mentioned, everytime I went in someone's room they were playing music on them and never heard that they didn't work. We did Adult swim up bar and Mojito lounge and they never cared, they are pretty easy going there! Quote: Originally Posted by MaggieandJay CONGRATS and welcome back! I LOVE your pics and esp le blanc-----> how was that resort? Irina & Liliana were my coordinators. They even set up tastings for both my signature drinks, loved it! The pool was nice and warm, it was also pretty hot while we were out there. You know, I didn’t check to see if the teens club was open, we always ended up crashing the adult swim up bar after hours and hanging out at Mojito’s. Which did seem to be the only nightlife. Thank you! I haven’t put up any pictures of my Le Blanc stay as of yet, that is an UNBELIEVABLE resort. Very chic and was the perfect spot to wind down. Our crowd wouldn’t have enjoyed it though, it has NO nightlife and it’s very quiet and peaceful, definitely not somewhere you could party all night. Quote: Originally Posted by amandamarieb Amy, this all sound so great! I am so happy for you! I saw the pictures and it looked like everyone had a blast. I cannot wait to hear your full review but in the meantime, I have a couple of questions. How many guests did you have? (I think I'll have around 60 and was going to have the reception in the Zavaz plaza but your recpetion looked great...wondering if that's still an option and if I have too many people. I don't think my WC listed it as an option. Bummer.) How did you like your DJ? And the Mojito bar stays open that late? Did you just tip really well and they satyed? Thanks!!! And again. CONGRATS! Thank you! I had 35 guests and to be honest, I don’t know how I would have handled more than this, LOL! Zavaz is much more open and more space. I don’t believe Zocalo al Fresco where I had mine is an option any longer and I don’t think 60 people would be comfortable there. Besides it would be much LESS hot at Zavaz since you’d have a breeze, we all were sweating to death on Zocalo but didn’t mind, we all did a pool after party @ midnight to cool off before heading to Mojitos. I did like my DJ, he did all the announcing, very well, coordinated with everything, faded our first dance song perfectly, used all my dinner music suggestions and kept everyone dancing. I got really anal on my do not play list, they send you a huge spreadsheet of songs and I went through the whole thing but they played a few songs I asked not to play. No biggie, didn’t really affect anything. They are open until 2am… but my brilliant MOH & her husband took note of what we were all drinking and ordered 14 drinks which they brought out to us on a tray and let us hang out there as long as we wanted (4:30am) we didn’t have to tip well, they are just really lax about that stuff.

That's definitely a good plan Karen! That's exactly what we did, mingled yet made sure to find each other for slow songs and some fast, a shot and some mustache poloroid pictures together A good strong margarita buzz, tv off and me by myself zoomed me through my vows. They were written in like 10 minutes no joke, 4 paragraphs I cut down to 3 right at the last second. Everyone told me that my vows were amazing and brought everyone to tears... it's amazing what a little alcohol can do to release that inner sap/romantic. You sound ready to go!! Haha well this is why I freaked wedding day before the ceremony. Friday actually forgot to put sunscreen on my face... I burn especially in that heat and I got to my room to shower and get ready for the rehersal dinner and see my face all burnt. Who took the one of you as your FB profile? It looks totally professional - and amazing!!! When does Katie get back!!! OMG... I can't believe I actually stressed over the weather at all. I was there for 12 whole days and not ONE drop of rain, not one cloudy day, it was just gorgeous beautiful skies. It was actually more like hot. High 80's for sure. The evenings only cooled down to 70's and were never COLD. I never needed a light cardigan or even a pashmina, I couldn't believe it. The weather right now is to die for, seriously you'll be so pleased! We had our reception at Zocalo al Fresco the covered open air restaurant patio and we were all sweating and hot all night because we were dancing. The whole wedding party even arranged with my photographers to do a group shot of them jumping in the pool afterwards which was hilarious. We even crashed the adult swim up bar for the after party to my wedding... since it was closed we all raided our fridges for the Tecate light they stock it with and hung out there for awhile to cool off, then partied up at the Mojito lounge until 4am. The cigar roller was great. It wasn't a surprise, FI actually insisted we get one I wish it would have been announced or something because he was so quiet and there rolling away and I didn't even know. I actually had to start dragging people over because they didn't notice he was there and people were asking me after he had already left where I got my cigar that I was smoking... the whole thing. They gave me boxes after he left so I just put them on my table and had them go grab whatever they wanted. My bridesmaid Shawna took that and 200 of the pictures that are up on my FB, she's a talented girl who uses a run of the mill camera if you can believe it. I was chatting with Katie on Saturday and she was still in Mexico supposed to leave Sunday. She thought she may have a couple day delay due to London airports being closed but didn't know. She should be back any day now. She told me she had a wonderful wedding as well and I saw a sneak of some of her photos, she looked gorgeous and is completely blissfully a Mrs.

Shannon I love it!!! Sounds like you had a blaaassssttt! It's funny my one complaint was that it was sooooo freaking hot and we were all sweating a lot. We had the exact same open air but covered patio type of thing for our reception. When talking to everyone later they said they embraced it and didn't even care! Amazing how people just have fun, I love it
