You you technically don't need a dance floor, unless you want a special one the lights up or something. Ok good, that's what I thought @ Zocolo but does anyone know if we're able to have music there? I have no idea how it's set up but it seems like it would be impossible to have a music setup for my iPod docking station... I could be wrong. Jo'Zeen answers my emails quickly but with one sentence that inspires 8 more questions... I'm not getting anywhere with her!

I think they try to, but if you take the stuff with you to your wedding meetnig, they will just ofer to put it out, and never charged me (thats how it worked for me anyway). I had planned to have my bridesmaids put it out should EDR want to charge me. So maybe have a back up option like that in case they try to charge you. As for the reception being cool. I think if you want it on the beach, go for it. Most nights it was fine there, but there was one that was pretty windy and cool (cool, not cold by any stretch, you just needed a shawl). (also, I was there in end of Nov, so might be even warmer now). I do have a suggestion if your worried. Since your in Mexico, it would be nie to have it outdoors rather then in a hall (in my opinion) Perhaps having it at the Health Bar or at Tuscanes would be a better option. Then you are still outside (nice) but off the beach (so not as windy if it happens to be a windy night). Just a thought. Hello, I'm considering the switch to EDR and I just wanted to ask you if you could some costs... if you don't mind of course! What were the standard room costs per day? How many people did you have and what was the final total? I apologize if these questions are too personal... I am so lost on knowing how much I need to save for my wedding and since I'm paying for it I really want to be sure I save enough if you know what I mean. Thank you to anyone who can help me out!

Since this is my first wedding and all... I was wondering if anyone could give me a little insist to the cost of all things. If you wouldn't mind telling me how much you paid for your Azul Sensatori wedding with how many people etc. or how much you expect to pay. I just booked my date and I'm wondering if my budget is at all close to the reality of how much it will cost. I have no one else helping me financially except me and my FI so I want to make sure I don't go broke on my wedding! Thanks so much!

Hey ladies! I am getting married Saturday, May 8th 2010 (I know, I've got awhile!) I just realized I will be there for my wedding week of Cinco De Mayo! Does anyone know if it's more crowded, expensive or poses any problems? Without even thinking I was planning on having my bachelorette party that day. Any insight or info would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

I actually delved into this a bit deeper on another thread here for people that are using and almost used Luxe. I actually backed out and didn't sign anything after I got some more information from people that had used them told me. I got a few girls personal email addresses and they explained what had gone on. From what I've heard which is all negative I decided to go elsewhere. I'm very interested in Azul Sensatori as well but have pushed my date to May 2010 - that way I have enough time to find out what they are all about before commiting to that resort. Good luck! Let me know if you want me to track down the Luxe thread for you... I'm sure I can find it again.

Any other 2010 Brides out there????
KittenHeart replied to Michelle's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I'm a May 2010 bride, no definite date or place set yet... I'm glad I found this thread because my potential TA spoke to me and was like, "well I'll call you back in March 2009 to start planning..." I was like, "oh " I have been planning to get married 2009 since February when I got engaged and my best friend changed her wedding date to June 2009 so I had to move my year I wish I knew at least where I wanted to get married! I have one idea but my TA didn't recommend it because they are brand new (almost). Good luck to everyone and happy planning! -
Welcome and good luck! That's my hopeful location as well

Thank you all for your responses and words of encouragement and suggestions! I already feel better knowing that I'm not the one person with family issues. I really don't get it... It's beyond my comprehension why any parent would miss their childs wedding especially since I've only got one. Most of you are right, the cost factor for my mom is an issue and I told her I'd pay for and plan her whole trip. Still refuses to go and actually won't talk to me about it with further pursuing on the reason why. I'm not extremely close with my extended family but wanted to have maybe my uncle walk me down the aisle. I'm embarrassed to invite my extended family and having to tell them that my only immediate family will not be attending. I'm considering having two of my best friends walk me down the aisle or walking myself. I'm with all of you... it's my day, it's my marriage, why should I bend to accomodate everyone else on my day? I was thinking about not mentioning it and sending save the dates and invitations to them like they are standard guests and see what happens. I have a feeling if they don't come I won't ever speak to them again and there goes my whole family. I thought family was supposed to be there and support you... interesting how the happiest of times can bring out people true and sometimes ugly colors. Good luck to you all as well!

I refuse to triple the cost of my wedding I have to pay for ON MY OWN just so she doesn't have to fly. Thank you guys for your words, it does help hearing that I'm not the crazy one here...

Ok so I have a very odd dilemna... My father passed away 8 years ago so he's not coming and nor do I have anyone to walk me down the aisle. I informed my mother of my destination wedding decision and she reacted happily to it saying it sounds like a good idea. Then I start getting her involved with when I want to have it and make sure she books her rooms and flights ahead of time and she drops the bomb... she's not coming. She doesn't like to fly (yet has done it a few times before) and absolutely refuses to come. She also refuses to talk about why she won't come. (Keep in mind she's not paying a red cent for this wedding no matter where it's held) My brother (so excited to come to Mexico for my wedding) all of a sudden is against the idea and thinks I'm being selfish. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat I'm literally in shock. On the other hand, my FI's family live all over the WORLD. They are absolutely thrilled to come (his second wedding!) and we have one family flying down from Australia. Does anyone have any insight? Advice? Help? Similar situations?
