  4. Congrats and welcome!! You'll find nearly every question you want answered here, it's great!
  5. Yes, do register! I agree with the other girls, people who can't come want to send gifts. What I did so it wasn't pushed on anyone (as it's not proper ettiquette to announce where you've registered in your invites) I created a page on my wedding website for my registries. I registered at Crate and Barrel for nice home stuff and I also registered for a honeymoon registry so people can buy us activities, dinners, bottles of champange for our room etc during our wedding week. and I also registered at Marriott for our Fiji honeymoon. I wanted people to have options to be involved in our wedding if they can't come or just send us standard gift. If people ask me where we are registered I tell them but other than that the information is only available online if they choose to want to know on their own. I had the same question if I should register or not but I'm glad I did because a lot of people asked.
  6. Thank you all! They won't let me take photos in the store unless I buy it So if I do, I'll definitely post pix!
  7. Meghan, thank you!!! I go to try in on this Sunday, I'll update it if I end up buying it

  10. BTW - That Fiskars Rotary trimmer with the reg blade and the perforated blade... the best investment I've ever made, I've used it many times after I created my STD's and will use it for my invites too!
  11. I love yours!!! They are really similar to mine, I haven't posted them so I get no credit but my colors are the black, white and sage in a sage sleeve with raffia and a flower with an emerald in the center oh and a magnet on the back of the boarding pass I'll have to put up pix! You did a great job!
  12. Wow I love those!!!!!! I think I might have to get me some, much more inexpensive option too
  13. I love it! You did this way the WAY classier version of my rant
  14. Thanks ladies!!! This makes me feel so much better about it The wedding itself will be a little more casual, I just wanted us to look a certain style. I'm going to see if I can get him thin dark nice slacks, a light white button down with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, I thin dark vest matching his slacks and a loose tie. We'll be dressed up but everyone else will look nice but more casual I have this vision and I'm glad it it makes sense to you all! Kate.com - good call! water spots would be bad, I also need to make sure I can sit in it comfortably
  15. Hoosierfan, as long as we've learned from our bad experiences then I think all will be just fine for our weddings and everyone in them
  16. Congrats on getting married! I'm dying to hear all about your wedding, I'm getting married there next year... if you want to share pictures with us AS brides, we would love it for sure

Congrats and welcome! There's so much to learn on this forum it's amazing
  18. Thank you ladies! That's what I said to my mom, "can't I just wear what I want?" hee hee it's always best to check with all the other destination brides first! Amy - I'd love to see your dress! Funny that we have the same name and similar style!
  19. HAHA, I'm so glad this came up! I didn't even think about it... or know
  20. Love3 - You're totally right, I do realize that, I wrote this originally very upset and have kind of let the steam out here thankfully. I would never put anyone through that for my wedding and I hope no one has to write about me after my wedding It's funny because she kinda of realized later and mentioned to me that I was incredible to her and she appreciates me a lot, which basically squashed any and all resentment I felt. I told her I feel a little underappreciated and thanked her for letting me know that I wasn't. That was the extent of it and it really didn't have to get any bigger than that. All is well now with everyone =) Thank you all for your kind words and advice, it's very much appreciated
  21. Bree, we've all been there! I know I have been back and forth many times... I got engaged a year and a half ago and it took me a whole year to even decide on the location and I have gone back and forth until one day I realized that I need to be all in at this point, there's no turning back so I will do the best that I can and enjoy what I get. We're all here for each other and to vent to and get advice so just utilize the forum to help you plan and get excited with each brides gushing review. Now if I could only decide on a freaking dress my stress would dimish a bit for the time being... I just started another thread to see if it was inappropriate or not! Haha, hopefully it's not!
  22. I'm glad to hear that you guys like it so far! I was going to get the neckline a little more "sweethearted" too I think... the stupid store I tried it on at wouldn't let me take pictures =/ I'll give you an idea of what i look like... I'm blonde (unlike my photo avitar), tall & curvy. 5'7 & size 6 in a wedding dress, 4 street size. I plan on wearing heels as well.
  23. I need your advice and honest opinions... I fell in love with a dress, a dress I'm suprised I even picked out and tried on because it was completely opposite of what I was looking for. I orginally wanted a simple sheath, sweetheart neckline, natural waste, fabric flower detail, pretty and flowy. I am having such a hard time finding this style in stores to try on to even know how it looks on me that I have been trying everything else under the sun with no success... until now. I love the more modern/vintage look which is this dress, very art deco and structured, I love it. I plan on having a pretty vintage updo with a birdcage veil and a flower or pretty clip. I'm getting married on the Sky Deck (not actually on the sand) and reception is on a terrace looking out to the ocean so I may be able to get away with this glamorous look but my mom and a few bridesmaids don't think so. Tell me what you think... Front Back I have another appt at the salon to try on this dress again for the designer as he will be there! That's a lot of pressure, I don't want to buy this because the moment is right, I need to make sure it works. This dress bustled up looks FABULOUS as well, which is the plan. Thank you all! Amy
