Does anyone happen to know (or how to figure this out) how long their "free specials" typically run? Or how often they mark specific items for the "free" promotions (ie. every other month the brochures go on sale for two weeks)? I'm working on our pre-travel brochures, but we won't have things confirmed for a little while still (stuff that I'd like to include on the brochures). The "free" brochure special isn't available all the time...I've checked during times when it's not on sale. Any ideas? Thank!

Thanks everyone for all the feedback! (I didn't check my thread yesterday.) I'm still on the fence, but it seems like most of you went (or will go) without the extra support. I wouldn't do it for the "boobage" support (small chest), I'd wear it to help shape my figure and to help ADD some "oomph" to my chest. As much as I absolutely LOVE my P90X (Week 3, Round 2 of the program...SUCH an accomplishment!), I really think it's changing my waistline into less of an hourglass shape. I'd love to nip it in a bit. =) I'm wearing a Pronovias gown, with built-in boning. Maybe I'll just end up going with some Spanx to prevent chafing...

I don't frequent this site too often anymore, but was wondering a few things that you trusty gals may be able to answer for me. What's the ground like between the hotel and gazebo? Loose sand? Packed sand? Something else? It seems like maybe someone once said that it's packed. Maybe used for volleyball or something? Jen2011, since you were just there, maybe you could help me? I ask about the ground because I'm trying to decide if I want to wear a heel at all...what are you guys doing (and are you, also, using the gazebo)? I've been searching high and low for nicer, fancier looking wedges since that might solve the problem, but they seem to be difficult to find. We've been dreaming about chartering a boat for our reception, instead of using the hotel's services. Are we the only ones doing this? If there is someone else out there doing this, may I ask for company suggestions? I'm guessing that we should probably get on top of this soon. Time just seems to be soaring! Still looking for an affordable photographer...any help in this area would be greatly appreciated too! Trying to stay around $700 if possible. From what I've learned in my research so far, I may be seriously dreaming! What's a more reasonable price, in your opinion? Thanks for any help you can offer an any of these areas! It seems like it's time to start getting these things sorted out.

Thanks, girls. I'm wondering if not wearing a corset-type bra is more the norm for hot destination weddings...I'm beginning to wish I would have opted for a corset-back dress to get that super purdy figure!

There must be a thread out there about this, but I can't find it. Please feel free to direct me to it if you know where it is! What foundation garments will you be wearing under your dress? I know many of us are concerned about the heat-factor, so will you be wearing a longline/corset bra underneath? Or will you just let the boning in your dress do the stabilizing work and be free on one more layer? I didn't think I wanted to wear a longline bra, but now I'm reconsidering with my alterations coming up. I'm definitely going to wear some sort of Spanx-type get-up to prevent- what I love to call- my "Chub Rub" area...between the thighs. What will you gals be doing/have done? Maybe this thread is premature and should discuss this with my seamstress? TIA!

You can either have them made into 25 prints or you can have a cd with the 25 images so you can get whatever size prints you want. Okay, so that's outrageous! But thanks for the clarification. So can anyone give me actual prices you paid and numbers of photos that you got for your wedding (resort photog or otherwise). It just seems SO expensive to hire an outside vendor once you factor in the additional fees. We're looking for simplicity in this whole destination wedding thing, not lots of details to figure out. But I want more than 70 pictures, and we definitely can't afford more than $600-700. Is this completely unrealistic? I do want decent pictures...This totally has me stressed now.

Hi Girls! I've been around this thread and forum for awhile, but haven't posted in a long time. My fiance and I are getting married at PA on November 6, 2010. I've been trying to get some info from Jacy about the resort photographer pricing. Maybe one of you can help me out? We're doing the free package, but I don't understand how the pricing works for the resort photographer. The paperwork that I have says the cost is this: 25 pictures + CD = $460 36 + CD = 600 50 + CD = 690 70 + CD = 840 So what I don't understand is if I pay for the 25 pictures, for $460 all I get is 25 printed (touch-up?) pics and a CD with JUST those 25 pictures? Or do I get 25 prints PLUS all the other pics on a CD? I'm a little nervous about this...Does anyone know about this? I've been searching through the thread, but all I've seen is couples using outside photographers, or the resort photography as part of an included package. Thanks girls!

I'm so excited to announce that I'm officially (finally!) a DPA bride-to-be. We are booked, deposited, and flying to Mexico November 1st! I've been a site user here for a couple of years, but haven't been very active in awhile. But this is where I began my research. I simply don't know how we could have chosen a resort without it! Hi Gals! My fiance and I have chosen DPA as our resort (changing from The Royal). I have to admit that I haven't made it through all the posts yet (I've been taking notes!), but I'll get there! We're still trying to set a date...I'm hoping this is the most difficult part as it's been quite a challenge! Right now we're working on weighing the odds of a hurricane in late October 2010. Otherwise, we're looking at 2011 =( and neither of us want to wait that long! Any advice on that front is appreciated! I'm also going to be so bold as to ask for a favor. I'd really LOVE to use an actual scenic picture from the resort area for our STDs (view from a room? ocean view from beach? resort from beach?). Do any of you who've been there have a postcard-worthy shot you'd be willing to share with me for this purpose? I haven't looked into it yet, but I'm wondering if the resort itself might allow me to use a picture they have. I'm guessing it would violate copyright laws, but I might as well try asking. Has anyone used their own picture for their STDs? Thanks for all the helpful info! I've spent the last year researching The Royal so now I'm feeling like I'm starting completely all over again. You've all been a great help already though! =)

Hi Girls - I haven't popped in here in a long time, but I happened to notice the recent posts on the price increase (again)...We've decided against The Royal and are going with Dreams Puerto Aventuras instead. One reason for this is because of the instable prices! I specifically asked during the online Webinar (was that in September I think?) if the prices and packages would be changing again because they seem to change somewhat frequently and at unexpected times. The answer was, "No. These are the packages and they will not be changing." That would make me very angry if I hadn't paid my deposit yet and so it seals the deal for us. As much as I'd totally and completely fallen in love with The Royal, perhaps we can come back another time for a vacation. I wish you all the very best of luck and the most beautiful weddings imaginable!!!

Gah! I get SO frustrated trying to find past threads...I'm fantastic with Google, but I can never seem to find what I want on this forum. I've tried a bunch of different searches to no avail If I'm really honest, I've just completely fallen in love with The Royal and trying so hard to make it fit into our very meager budget. I'm still exploring other options, but I just don't know if anything else will measure up now. (Of course, it doesn't help that we've been talking and dreaming about Royal for a year now!) Once again, I've let quite a lot of time slip away since last posting. But, our engagement is now official. Yay!
