  1. hi girls, for those of you i don't know, i was one of the swine flu brides who had to cancel their mexican weddings. however, i must say, it all worked out perfectly and we had the time of our lives. in 2 weeks i rerouted our 100 guests and planned a successful wedding at the harbor beach marriott in fort lauderdale florida. good luck to all of you and don't sweat the small stuff! here are our pics: Jenni and Mike's wedding photos - Select Ceremony great knowing you and i wish all of you the absolute best in their wedding planning. jenni
  2. hi brides, just wanted to let you know that we canceled our azul sensatori wedding. i wanted to thank you for all your answers and support these past months and wish you the best of luck planning your wedding. we are keeping the same date and planning something in the keys - i will for sure post all my pictures after. point of advice...DO NOT STRESS OVER THE SMALL STUFF! if you start to stress, just think of all us brides that needed to cancel and smile. jenni

I've been reading EVERYTHING today - and it doesn't look like they're restricting any travel to MX (as of now). This map made me feel a lot better - I live in NJ and work in NYC, I think we have a better chance getting the swine flu here than in MX! Swine flu map - Wall Street Journal what about the kids in nyc that got it from spring break in cancun? any news on that?

Or after dinner moved some of the tables. I was told that the tables sat 8 guests per table for the free standing receptions. Make sure you do a seating chart before you get there, because our seating was a disaster. I'm just guessing, but I bet they leave the Gazebo standing so this spot can double for ceremony and reception site...the only problem with this new location is it is literally right next to some of the hotel rooms. With the old location, it was right in the middle and there were pools close by, but not any rooms, and it was elevated. As you can see from some of my pictures, there were people camped outside their rooms watching for the ceremony. Which didn't bother me, I just hope they aren't in any professional pictures! Everyone cheered and was really nice afterwards. During our ceremony there was a naked child pressing her privates against the glass of the room balcony through the whole thing. And all of our guests just laughed, we had no idea it was going on. Then later, I was walking back to our room quickly and she was dressed this time yelling down to me "HI Bride!". thanks erika, i definitely gave them a very very detailed seating list with a visual. i have given them every little detail now let's just wait to see if it is executed correctly! oy! i don't feel very confident at the moment. who changes a brides reception location 3 weeks before a wedding? i mean really?
  6. i was told yesterday that my reception has been moved to the new plaza. attached is the picture that fabio sent me. i have 100 guests (14 tables and we need room for 100 people to dance). kinda freaking. erika - can you imagine a party of 100 in this area? i hope they move the gazebo. who changes a reception location with 3 weeks to go!?

I really didn't want to get a tent bc I felt it defeated the purpose the look of the beach reception. I'm kind of at a loss now of what to do. Also, does anyone know...for the DJ list....Tiffany tells me you can submit songs you want and see if the DJ can get that music. I am not so sure about this? Is it better to get them on CD or Ipod or what format and just bring it with you? does anyone know anything about this? i am not having a beach reception, but i am having a beach rehearsal dinner, beach ceremony and beach cocktail hour. i am sticking to it! regarding the dj... i have made the following playlists on my itunes: early music slow music during meals music late music i plan to: 1. give my ipod to the dj 2. make mp3 discs for the dj by playlist 3. make multiple audio discs for the dj by playlists you can't be too safe!
  13. has anyone created their welcome letter yet? if so, can you please share. thanks so much! jenni
  14. random question: tables fit 8 people. are babies/highchairs counted as 1 person? thanks! trying to sort out our seating chart.

Has anyone written their own ceremony for Dreams' minister to read that doesn't include like the Christian/Catholic stuff? Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks!! Hi Michelle, I am having a Jewish wedding at the Azul Sensatori. There is a Rabbi in Cancun, but he doesn't do weddings. We are flying in an AMAZING Rabbi/cantor named Debbi Ballard. I am in love with her and think it is a blessing that she will be marrying us. Check her out: Jewish & Interfaith Wedding Officiant in South Florida 954-646-1326 - Jewish and Interfaith Wedding and Bar Mitzvah officiant in South Florida. She is personalizing our Jewish wedding to our exact wants and needs. We will have a Ketubah and all the other Jewish wedding traditions. The Chabad house in Cancun is delivering us kosher wine and a challah. It should all work out nicely! Jenni

Every time I find a resort that I think sounds perfect, I find some horrible reviews that scare me away. I just want to book the location already - thinking that all the fun stuff starts once we do that. Has anyone had a jewish wedding at Azul Sensatori? Has anyone had any issues with them being a "new" hotel? Does anyone have a direct contact to get to Fabio as all my emails and wedding requests have gone unanswered. I'm sure that's just the beginning of my questions but any thoughts are much appreciated!! Thanks! Hi OMT, I am having a Jewish wedding at the Azul Sensatori. We are flying in an amazing Rabbi. In addition, we have the Chabad house in Cancun delivering us kosher wine and a Challah the day of. Unfortunately, we are not doing the whole "kosher" thing - just no pork per my future mother in laws request. However, I think you won't find a problem doing a "kosher-style" all dairy (specific fish and cheese, etc) or all meat (no dairy anything) wedding. Vegetarian may get boring although the pastas sound amazing. We have been very specific about our Chuppah, which Fabio calls a "Chew-pah" - LOL, so cute. I think it will work out nicely. Jenni

Can you have a dance floor there? If not, I think we are just doing it on the beach if there are no other options. Also, for anyone who has somewhat larger groups, are you doing any other private rehearsal dinner/cocktail parties other than the events of the wedding day? And lastly!! (for now) Can you share your ideas for the actual out of town bag/boxes you are using? I can't seem to find anything I like!!!! Thanks for your help! yes, we are having rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding. we are doing the petite gourmet (bbq) on the beach. mexican themed - got the donkey and some other mexican things. just using an ipod since most of the time someone will be on the mike. we have 100 guests. this is what we are doing for OOT bags, but with our logo on it. wanted to keep it simple and didn't need to add another project to my list. i got a sample, they look great! i am going to wrap them up in celephane and attach a schedule/letter. let me know if this interests you and i will put you in touch directly with my printer/friend at the company. Franklin Printing Inc o also, yes! wedding diet has begun! 4lbs down thus far...yay!

  19. either supply the fonts to the printer and ask them to install the fonts on their Mac. If they are using a PC, buy the PC version of the font and supply that. Dafont.com fonts work on both a mac and a PC so you should be cool there. or to avoid all of that, convert the fonts to outlines in adobe illustrator. don't have a melt down. it's not a huge deal.

To make a long story even longer, they procrastinated and now the resort is BOOKED!!!! Are there any brides blocking rooms where the block might lift for MAY 7-12 OR 6-13 OR ANYTHING!!! HELP!!!! They are booked the 7-9th and our wedding is the 9th. Any help or room changes would be greatly appreciated. Also, Are any of your guests staying at other resorts and getting day passes? If so what does that consist of and do you have resort reccomendations that will take kids near by?? A little birdie told me that it's possible that you can get into the Azul Sensatori easily via the beach. There are no wristbands and since the hotel is at capacity, is anyone really going to know? They really have nerve charging day passes for a wedding!! Ask your TA to pull some strings, perhaps they can get a few passes for you. There is absolutely no harm in asking. Phew, at first i thought i was crazy for paying $15k for room deposits but wow I am glad that I did!! Good luck!
  21. for all you brides having the same issue as me....short, want heels, but nervous about the wooden plank... check this out! amazing! The Solemates

  23. everyone check out the new review on tripadvisor. it is an amazing review from a bride - she sounds THRILLED with her experience. i am beginning to think we all made an amazing decision by picking the azul sensatori. for those of your who have beach ceremonies and are short (like me), what do you plan on wearing on your feet? i need some height, but i am nervous about the wooden plank. can a bride who got married on the beach let me know what you think the best type of footwear is for a beach ceremony. thank you! jenni
