soon2bePowers replied to michelle6114's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
That is awesome! Congrats, the best new is that it worked and gave you results your happy with. The second best news is that you saved so much $$$! -
Groomsmen gifts-Clothes (linen pants/white shirt) and nice cigar Bridesmaids gifts-monogrammed travel mugs, 2 different monogrammed luggage tags, flip-flops for the ceremony, starfish necklace, silver bangle engraved with 'Friendship means the world" in Spanish. Yes, I realize the bridesmaids are getting more things than the groomsmen but this is the way I look at it....the bridesmaids have done a LOT for the wedding and the only responsibility for the groomsmen is to show up at the wedding!

IPOD Speaker Sound
soon2bePowers replied to Christinamaria22's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I have the BOSE portable. It is amazing, super loud, light, and wireless. It is $$ but it is a great brand that is known for quality products! -
Hey girls, Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Macy's (or at least the ones by me) have their high end watches 50% off. Apparently the watch people currently there are leasing and that company is going out of business. They are clearing out all of their inventory and then Macy's is going to bring in their own. I got FI a great watch originally $500 for $250!! Lots of brands at mine, Swiss Army, Citizen, Seiko. The brands like guess and stuff were not included! Happy shopping!

Sitting here doing music and I am stuck! So far I have... Bridal party......__________________ (looking for a nice instrumental) Bride......Bridal March by Jonathan Cain Processional....Somewhere over the Rainbow (not sure about this) Beginning of ceremony looks like this...... I am having parents seated (do I need a song for this??) Groomsmen walk followed by Groom (separate song for this or do you use same song as bridesmaid-still looking for this) Bridesmaids ME-Got this done! Thank you all so much, this is the last BIG to-do on my list. We leave 2 weeks from today!!

We are also on USA3000. Our flight leaves at 7:00am and heads straight to Cancun! Quote: Originally Posted by kimrae99 We leave two weeks from today!! That would be funny if we were on the same flight since we're both from STL! We're flying USA3000 and leave early the morning of the 8th.

We planned to have our legal day before we left for Mexico but with all the snow days we had this year we will be doing it shortly after we get back. We are having FI's grandparents and my grandma as our witnesses since they aren't traveling to Mexico. We figured we will go out for a nice lunch after.

Graciela, Thanks for all the info. I thinking anyone who has been planning with the Valentin for while would expect some issues with the WC. After all we have been through like 4 of them!!! As for hiring an outside WC, I would check with the Valentin to see what they will charge you for this person coming in. You know their favorite phrase, "Can do for an extra charge!" I think we are going to have our cocktail hour and reception the same places at Graciela, our wedding is on the beach. We are not having an actual reception, instead dinner, speeches, 1st dance and then we will be off to one of the resort bars.

Goldstein to Be, that would be great. Question how did you transition your music. For example ending the bridesmaid walk song and beginning the bride walk song?
-
Anyone else still working on music? We are doing an ipod for the ceremony and dinner/reception and still need to do this. I am really putting it off for fear of figuring out how to make smooth transitions between songs. Any thoughts

Those are the big things.. I have been having so much fun buying dresses to wear! Lots of fun but I need to STOP! How is everything going for everyone? WELCOME ALL NEW JUNE BRIDES!!

Have you tried Bakers? That is where I found mine. If they don't have stores in Canada they are online at bakersshoes.com -

gifts for parents?
soon2bePowers replied to destination's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Since my mom has basically been my local wedding planner and I don't know what I would do without her I am getting her some small things. I got her a coach passport cover and then a bead necklace with a glass-blown starfish pendant. After the wedding we are going to get my mom & step-dad and Dad & step-mom a coffee table photo book. -
snorkelling excursion for our guests

I have some very exciting news...we have finally planned out and finalized our Snorkeling Excursion, and it is going to be AWESOME! We found a wonderful company called Cancun Catamarans, and they have really "hooked us up"! Check out their website...it's Cancun Catamarans, Cancun Catamaran Tours, Cancun Sailing, Sailboats in Cancun, Yachts and Deep Sea Fishing Charters.. Anyway, below is the scoop: The Snorkeling Excursion will be on Saturday, May 23 (day before the wedding) and will last from 10 AM until 2 PM. We will meet in the lobby of the Hilton Cancun Resort at 9:30 AM for check in. We will have our own PRIVATE CHARTERED 48-foot Catamaran. It will include (for all guests that will be attending the excursion): Round Trip Private Transportation from the Cancun Hilton, Open Bar, Bathrooms onboard, Nice Sound Systems (for music and dancing if you like), Snorkeling and gear, Spinnaker Sail (Parasail), and a full crew just for us (Bartender, Ship driver, and snorkeling guides). Also, we get discounts at different bars and things like that for booking through Cancun Catamarans! Open Bar: Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Rum Punch, Juices, Sodas, Bottled Water, Cold Beer and more. Dry Snacks: Assorted Chips You can also bring anything else you like. Description of the boat: "The Catamaran 48' "Next Wave" is a 40 pax Catamaran. This Catamaran is totally flat and great for parties. Small sitting area towards the back for 10-18 pax. It can be seen on our video on the Contact Us page. Cancun, Cancun Catamarans, Snorkeling, jungle tours, speed boat tours, Catamarans, sailing & day trips. She is perfect for wedding parties." Price: Only $50 per person! This is about as much as it costs through other companies to just go snorkeling with a bunch of strangers, with no fun stuff included...we are getting a GREAT deal. Please mail your checks to us and we will put you on the list. Trust me, we have gone snorkeling a few times in Cancun, and this is by farthe best deal we have found yet...we are getting so much for the amount it costs, for 4 hours of fun! Snorkeling:The normal snorkel time is around 90 minutes worth, and the rest would be cruising around the beautiful sea, drinking, having fun and carrying on, but we can choose to snorkel for as long as we'd like! We got an absolutely amazing deal on this excursion and I think it will be one of the highlights of the trip! Parasailing: In the attached pics you will see the Spinnaker Sail, aka a small Parasail. This is AWESOME that its included!!! It doesn't go as high as a "normal" parasail, but it will definitely be just as fun for those of you with an adventurous side who want to enjoy it! I just got off the phone with Robert and am putting an excursion together with this company. He sound great, quick replies via email and phone and GREAT prices. -
I have built a few websites with iweb, so I am going to TRY to help. Problem 1: with iweb you typically build your site on your computer and then upload it onto a server. The problem with slow loading sounds like a server problem. Problem 2: I hope this answer doesn't sound to simple but you should be able to click on the menu bar text box (rather than just trying to highlight the text) and then click the font button or go to Format>Fonts>Show fonts I don't know what iweb you are using but the new ones seem to be more user friendly. Hope this helped!

what do you like to see? - feedback request
soon2bePowers replied to BN Fotografia's topic in Random Thoughts
I would say I like to look at pictures from several weddings, including getting ready shots, ceremony shots, groups shots, and bride/groom shots. I also look for unique shots that really catch my eye.
