okkkk so i just called the toll free number for the company that runs the resort im going to...it was the canadian toll free number but it was answered by people in Miami....so when the guy on the phone found out I was calling about a cuban resort he was like im sorry I know you are Canadian but there is no possible way for me to help you because I am American and can not even speak about cuban resorts....so in the end of it all I have to call a number in europe or cuba directly which will be expensive just wondering if anyone else has had this problem when trying to make reservations?? its kinda silly to have a canadian hotline if they still cant help me with reservations i am allowed to make....how is it fair to make me call long distance to europe?? sorry that was a rant i just am a little curious if anyone else has had this problem before??

yaa so i just called the canadian toll free number for the resort i am going to and it was answered by an american call centre in miami so they guy was like im sorry i know that you are canadian and this is a canadian number that you called but i can not even speak about cuban resorts to give you basic information...i got kind of frustrated...in order to talk to someone from the company i now have to call either europe or cuba (kindaaa expensive) so now i just emailed the resort and hope they can help me that way

oh thanks for that info! i guess i should see if my resort has a toll free number i can call to see what their policy is...do you know if it is possible to talk to the wedding coordinator before we get down there??

do resorts ever cause problems with these shoots being done on their beaches or do they just let people do them and not ask any questions?? i dont want to get all ready for a TTD shoot, get to the beach and get told we cant do it lol

my travel agent said that we need to put down a deposit in january for everyone that is going...and then four weeks before we travel we pay the whole amount for the trip....i just have no clue who we pay the money for the resort wedding package to and when to contact the resort to make sure i get the wedding date i want ) anyone know about this??

My fiance has also been married before and after talking to a travel agent yesterday she said she has heard some bad stories of paperwork getting messed up with cuban paper translations for weddings!! :S....so now ive decided to get married at home before we go...its much easier and the paperwork will be in english for the marriage certificate which is better i think ) id be nervous signing wedding papers in a language i cant read lol...ive heard of some stories on here of people signing papers and then they find out later on that it included a pre-nup!! not for me thanks lol...i think doing the legal part at home is much smarter

im planning on doin the same thing. my DW will probably be very small because I just want the people we are closest to to be there...but when we get home I want to go to a nice restaurant and take everyone out...some people we want to invite to the DW but know they either cant fly or just cant afford the trip (....so this is a great way for them to still be a part of the celebrations i think )

ok awesome thanks girls!!! ya i dont want to buy a second dress...im guessing everyone on here has different budgets and mine isnt huge lol so i wanted to be able to use just one dress!! they look like so much fun to do these shoots! almost prettier pictures then the wedding ones themselves ) cant wait to get married with sand between my toes!

awww gossip girl i wanted the same wedding date that you have 10/10/10 but im so impatient i cant wait til that late in the year LOL! and you are so lucky to get married in hawaii!! my dad got married there this past january and it was like living on a postcard lol

and yay for the canadian girls in here!! i think we are so lucky to be able to go to cuba and get married! its so gorgeous there!

im getting married in jan 2010 at the paradisus rio de oro in cuba!! im choosing the huge wedding package and from what ive heard its really simple it includes everything you need and the only decision you need to make when you get to the resort is what colour you want your flowers to be!! lol...thats my kind of wedding planning! i cant imagine dealing with the stress of having to plan a huge wedding at home!

heyy just wondering what people think about doing a TTD shoot?? should i get a second dress or am i fine to wear my actual wedding dress?? also i am not sure how much it costs to get a photographer to do the shoot and dont know if the resort photographer will do this for me....but has anyone had a friend take the pictures for this?? all the pictures ive seen from others TTD shoots are gorgeous and something i want to do forsure! sorry for all the questions LOL but one last one...what does it cost to fly a photographer down to a resort usually??

heyy just wondering if anyone knows how soon before my DW can i legally marry?? my FI has been married before so the paperwork to legally marry in Cuba is too much! i want to do the legal part at home a couple months before our DW but dont want it to be too soon and the resort to get upset....anyone have any advice

omggg so i am soo excited!! i know its only a month difference but i talked to a travel agent today and she said its much cheaper to travel to Cuba in january so now my wedding date is Jan 13 2010 ) less time to wait now!!!
