Now I'm worried. Seems everytime they update something for 2010, I end up disappointed. First, the price jump on the Mariachi band and the wedding arch, then taking out the Mariachi band as an option for the ceremony, and now this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping they don't change much, or at least change for the better.
  5. Thanks for sharing your review. Your pictures were great! Congratulations.
  6. Beautiful shots, but a little eerie for my taste. I do love the one with the car though.

You know you have to post them! )
  9. Those were beautiful pictures. I loved your dress!
  10. I too have the same problem. Thanks for the ideas, ladies!
  11. I'm also a fan of the drowned flower centerpiece. Did you check out the thread about posting centerpieces? Tons of pictures on that. Good luck!
  12. I love love love your reception and ceremony set-up...so beautiful!!! When we started planning a DW, my FI and I always said that we wanted the ceremony with the beach as a background. This was non-negotiable, but I would leave the beach behind to have the set up you had for your ceremony. Congratulations to you both!
  13. I'm so sorry to hear the news. 4 months is still a lot of time to plan a wedding, and I'm sure everything will turn out just fine. I also think there's still tons of stuff on the forum that'll help you in planning even if it's not going to be a destination anymore...we're all here to help or just chat/vent to. I wish you well in the rest of your planning and let us know if you need anything.
  14. Not sure if someone has posted this already, but I just stumbled upon these cute DIY umbrellas! There's a template that you can already download which cuts down on half the work! I'll probably attempt to make one with our own design on it. We're planning on serving a signature drink served during either the cocktail hour or reception and this would be a perfect personalized touch. Might be really time consuming because of the cutting that's involved, but thought I would share anyways! 15. Welcome to the forum! I was in the same boat as we were going back and forth between the two hotels! I stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach a few years back and have nothing but great things to say about it. Iberostar does such a great job entertaining their guests and making them feel welcome...plus the resort was so beautiful and well maintained. I also went on a site visit to the Barcelo back in April and it was also beautiful and stunning! Both resorts were huge complexes and gave our guests the flexibility to stay at different hotels (price ranges) depending on their needs. We ended up going with Barcelo because we really had our hearts set on having a beach ceremony. As far as I know, Iberostar only does the dinners in the restaurants, which was really not an option for us ( This might have changed though 'cause I could've sworn I saw a some bride's pictures with a reception at some outdoors-y type of venue. I'm sure you can't really go wrong either way. Let me know if you need any information and good luck with the decision.
  16. Tough situation to be in. We still have about 6 months to go and I'm already starting to worry. You're approaching this whole situation with such a great attitude. Good on ya!
