Driver Needed in Montego Bay
GregsBride replied to uspoiledme's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hi, Do you need a driver with a car or a bus, and how long would you need the driver for? My FI has a bus out there and his uncle also has a bus too if you needed it to transport your guests. -
I guess it would all depend on what you were looking for... There are a few great photographers in Jamaica. But then again, you may want to speak with the photographer that is doing your AHR to see if they do destination weddings and maybe they can cut you some type of deal for both events.

Monogram Etiquette....?
GregsBride replied to OchieBride's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I haven't heard of this before, which is probably the reason that I have already broken the rule!! I have already used mine to at least two project and will certainly use it again before I get married next April. Then again, there are tons of other "proper wedding etiquette" rules that I will break if I haven't already done so. I believe it's your wedding and you should be able to do things how you envision them. -
I am actually flying in a photographer from home. Initially I was going to go with Sungold, but I now have to cancel because I will getting much more for my $$ by flying him in. I will have him for about 5 days and he does fusion style photography so I'm get a bit of video as well. What are you doing for photography?

You should check Vistaprint, they allow you to upload your images for a small fee sometimes they even have free offers for uploading. That way you can design the image yourself and just upload it and have them print them. I did this for my postcards and I uploaded an image for about $3 and paid about another $5 for 100 postcards and they looked fantastic.

Thanks Tonya for the tip, I will have to get that program. I do have a friend who major in graphic design so I may have to get him onboard also!! I doubt I will use the printers at work, I work at the Pentagon and I don't wanna risk getting in trouble w/ the Feds printing wedding invites

Hi Ladies!!! This has been a really good week for me... I picked up my dress two days ago, made my final decision on a photographer and BM dresses, got a TTD for $50 and received a few quotes on flowers. I even began my first DIY project!!! Tonya, like you I also want to have a more elegant formal invite but I just can't justify spending tons of cash on them. I am going to try to semi-DIY these as well by having someone do the design, getting them printed at a local printer, and then having a invite assembly party. I don't think we are having an AHR, but if we do decide to change our minds it will probably be more like Erin's BBQ idea. It seems like the most cost effective, less stress option. Taylorbride, welcome and I am totally thrilled to have a fellow IRHS bride here on the April 2010 thread!!!

Jamaica Brides: Father's Name on Birth Cert??
GregsBride replied to jenninjamaica's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
That's really comforting to know Thanks Sloan for the info!! -
Welcome to all the new IRHS brides!!! It's great to see that we are getting more ladies each day and that this thread is becoming popular volleygriff, I plan of bringing a few items for decor. I will be bringing my own table runners, chair sashes, moroccan lanterns, and a few other things that I haven't yet finalized. Taylorbride, here are a few sites that I found that have chair sashes just in case you wanted options other than the gold and silver they offer with the package. wedding linens direct home page Wedding Favors, Centerpieces, Supplies, Tablecloths, Chair Covers PrestigeLinens.com :: Welcome to High Quality Linens - Prestige Linens I hope this helps!!

Jamaica Brides: Father's Name on Birth Cert??
GregsBride replied to jenninjamaica's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I'm glad I am not the only one w/ this issue. I believe I have the long form version of my birth certificate and it does not have my dad listed. It would be rather difficult to have this changed, so I am just wondering why is it a must that the father's name be included. This really complicates things for me. -
Kleinfeld

I feel like I see brides blowing their budget on that show a lot because they were allowed to try on things they couldn't afford. That being said if you have the budget for a dress from Kleinfeld, I can't imagine another store to top the selection available there. I totally agree with you on this... The last few episodes I've watched there have been occasions when a bride tells them that she has a budget of maybe $2500 and is shown a fabulous dress with a $5000 price tag. She falls in love w/ it and finds that she can't leave w/out it. I don't know about everyone else, but if I walk in with a budget I don't think it's fair to show me gowns that are double what I came in with. I think I have seen the new consultant Carmel (sp?) do this a few times. -
Good luck ladies, I hope you all find a dress you absolutely love!! Hopefully your experience will turn out much better than mine at the White Flint location, because most of the dresses I liked were damaged from brides fighting over them.

Custom Linen Suits $99!
GregsBride replied to FoxyBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Thank you so much!! I will surely take note of this when ordering for my FI, I didn't see a place where they had measurements for the forearm. I can see how that caused a problem for you. Did you choose the Classic Comfort Fit for the Trouser fit option? -

Did anyone watch the Today Show wedding?
GregsBride replied to Hoosierfan's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
I totally agree w/ the you ladies... I thought her hair made her look soooo old!!! Almost old enough to be his mom. It's great to have someone fit the bill, but I'm not sure how I feel about allowing others to pick every detail of my wedding. Not only that, it seemed like they were constantly doing interviews, and it seemed like they never really have time to sit back and partake in each other not to mention the fact that your wedding ceremony loses its intimacy where you have a national audience. -
