What to do... chop or not to chop??
CayoLargo replied to 2bebridejamaica's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Well I have to say that they are both really nice...you can get away with having both long and short hair. I think that if you have planned to have it long for hair styling and veil, flower, tiara then tell him and then say that you can change it when you return...or maybe half way through your trip! I would say that either one looks great but be sure of it...as growing it back out would take awhile! good luck! Dorry did not realize you were just asking about color...I like the dark hair the blonde is great too...but if he likes the dark then go with dark! LOL -
Well my worst Bridzilla moment has got to be about my dress... My FI and I were not living in the same place (17 hours away from each other) when I was dress shopping so I asked him what type of dress he though would look nice with our casual wedding, such as long, short, lacy...you know just the basics and he kept saying he did not care...which just made me madder and madder...I guess I wanted him to say something like "you should get a long dress with lace and flowers and bows.." LOL By the end of the phone conversation I was crying hysterically and not making any sense and my FI could do nothing for me. The next day I realized that I was out of hand and apologized...so not even when I am excited or fretting over something small he starts to act like Frankenstein and makes this weird voice "Bridzilla...arg..." It is quite funny but puts me back in my place... I never thought I would get this way...it is funny how it just happens...

I am uploading them through the site..using the the insert image button (the box with the little mountain) because vista will not let me save the pictures or post them to another site like photobucket...this might be why they will not come up...but I posted another thread no long ago (my planning thread) and everything showed up there...as far as I know and I did it the same way. Not sure what is going on! -
Help me Moderators... I posted a thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29001 titled "need help choosing which one...help me choose" and the pictures will not show up? Did I do something wrong...I could see them in the preview and I can see them in the post but others can not see them...I am confused! How do I restart the thread or delete it so I can start over? Thanks

I only used the veil during the ceremony. It was a bit hard to find pics that showed the veil and the flowers really well. Most of the professional pics show the front of me. Here is a pic during the ceremony which shows how the small veil tucked under my hair worked really well with the flowers. Also, since the veil was pretty short, it did not fly all around with the breeze. And here's a pic from the back. Hope this helps you guys out! I saw buy the flowers if you are set on them, and then try it on at home with a small veil see how it looks. I really love your flowers for your hair...where did you get them?

Ok...this may sound dumb but here it goes... 1. Who hosts and plans a bridal shower? I have always been under the impression that your bridal party (MOH) would host it and plan it but I am far from any of my attendants...do I do it then? Is that greedy? 2. What is the purpose of the bridal shower? Is it just to recieve gifts or what? 3. Who do you invite to the bridal shower? I have many people around me but none are family and none are coming to the wedding...what is the protocol? Please add any other information about bridal showers....thanks!

what to wear under the dress?

Where did your mom get it...do you have a link? I am not sure if I will need anything as my corset top holds the girls just fine...but as for other things I have tried...I really hate strapless bras as you are constantly pulling up on them. My suggestion is getting something sewn in, or these spanx things...I know some graduation students that used something like them and they really worked well. Good Luck! -
Well I know that the costs can be scary but the other thing to think about is what type of hotel you are looking at...the big 5 star hotels that have 1000 rooms or more are going to be high priced....but if you find something smaller then the price lowers. The best advice I can give (and I have seen many others say) get a travel agent! They know the business...you can tell them what you are looking for, the costs you would like to see people spend and then make recommendations. The internet can miss guide you...so a TA can at least do some leg work for you and then you can choose from there...also you can look at doing a destination wedding to Canada, or other parts of the US and get a unique experience that way! Good Luck!

Cant decide...ugh! Black or Tan?!
CayoLargo replied to mineaux's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Well in my opinion...I think both ideas are really great and I do nto think that the colors are really going look 'bad' against the sand and surf based on what colors you have chosen. I would be worried about comfort...if you wedding ceremony is only going to be short, on the beach and then going under cover for the rest then black is fine for all...but if everything is under the heat of the sun then I would go for the lighter tan colors for pants and dresses. The way I choose was think about it as if you were the one who had to wear the clothes...will you be hot? will it be comfortable? etc. Good luck on deciding... -
Well JennyatK I was in the same boat as you as I feel pictures are what will be the long lasting memory not only for my FI and I but also for the friends and family that can not make it. My FI was dead set against the idea of bringing a photographer down but I held out and made my case for it and after talking about it and researching many many photographers I found a great photographer (a lot cheaper than most of the others) and finally convinced my FI that it was worth the money... I say that you should go with your gut. My gut told me that I would hate the photos that the hotel photographer would supply and that my guests would take pictures but who to say that they would be the photojournalist type that I envision my pictures to be! Good Luck!

CayoLargo...Planning Thread..so far!
CayoLargo replied to CayoLargo's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
The Rings...mine is platinum 3 stone engagement ring with diamond band--His is a Tungsten band with silver insert. Make-up inspiration - I just want something light...my FI hates make-up on most people so I want it to just highlight and look natural. We are doing something different with our guest book...each guest will get a postcard, they can write there hopes, dreams, advice...whatever on them and then send them too us on their return back to Canada. We will also be giving a postcard to each person who was unable to attend the DW! Once they are in we will add them to the scrapbook my SIL is doing for us. Front - actual picture taken at our resort when we were there in 2006 Back - actual picture taken at our resort when we were there in 2007 Think that is it as of now...I just got a monogram from *Amarillis* and will try and incorporate that somewhere as well. Any suggestions on veil or other aspects would be great! Thanks! -
Well overall we are doing a very simple wedding on the beach...so my planning is really no much but here it goes... The Dress - Maggie Sottero Brittanya Lynette FI attire - Island Importer - white linen amalfi shirt - white linen pants Accessories - Bel Aire Bridal Tiara 1881 Hair inspiration - Loose curls with the front back and the back down... OR Hair will be all up but loose... Gifts for guests attending wedding in Cayo Largo, Cuba A friend of ours is a great artist and he is unable to come so he is doing up charactures of each guest that attends in one group shot...I just give him a picture of the guests, a little info about what they like to do, and he does the rest...(this is not his work...just something I found to give you the idea) ALSO - personalized M & M's

Is anyone else out there scared about the economy?
CayoLargo replied to Yari's topic in Random Thoughts
Well from a Canadian perspective... Farmers...yea many farmers in Alberta and other areas are changing their crops to corn and less on the other things we rely on (wheat, grains, etc.). They are changing because of a demand for corn for fuel. This is then impacting the price of things like flour and feed for animals...which then goes into the price of meat! Gas Prices...Well even though we have gas right underneath us we are still paying high prices for gas...it is slowly coming down but will never get to where it is truly worth driving anywhere. Housing costs...They are coming down all around us...but are still high since the market went so crazy and houses that 5 years ago were asking $100,000 are now asking $300,000. If you own your home you will need to look at financing, and depreciation but if you are like me and my FI we are holding out for the market to continually drop and then buy a home that is not too big at a decent price within our range. Stocks...Well many are going down down down...but when they are down the only way to go is out or up...so my FI and I who have not bought stock yet are watching some of the stocks that are going down now...but at some point in the next 10 years will go up....so buy some of the stocks at their lowest and watch them go up again! I feel really bad for all those families who bought homes or invested and are now losing money, homes, and even their jobs...my thought go out to those people...because in the long run the ones who suffer the most are CHILDREN! Well that was long winded...sorry!
