  1. AnnaC- I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I hope we are the only ones too! Are u using the Spa at all that day?
  2. Several brides have brought their own IPOD docking stations down. We are doing this for our poolside reception. As far as I know, they do not have and IPOD dock for you to use. Definitely see if you could borrow someone's IPOD rather than waste your money and time buying and returning one.
  3. I would love to use the design that u created for my cups... I hope I still have time to do them! Exactly one month to go. Could you please send the design to [email protected]? Thank you!
  4. I scanned and emailed them to her and then also mailed the actual documents. She just sent me an email yesterday asking what our occupations are to put on the marriage license paperwork. She should contact you soon for that info. If you have a particular flower that you have in mind, you may want to email her now to get in contact with Tai Flora to make sure they will have them on the wedding day.
  5. Anna - we have exactly one month from today!!! We chose Friday for the same reason, to make it easier for our guests. I found another bride on Facebook that is getting married the same day, but I am not sure what time... I am guessing noon. I chose Friday thinking there wouldn't be as many weddings, but I guess I was wrong! If you go with Tai Flora have Chandlyn set it up.. they give her better rates... at least that's what I have read from other responses on the forum. Kenya- 3 weeks!!! You must be getting so excited!!!
  6. Anna- when do u arrive? how long are u staying? what reception site did you choose? I am doing the poolside dinner/reception. what are u doing for flowers?
  7. We do have the same date!!! I didn't even see that before! My ceremony is at 2 pm on the beach. When and where is yours? We will have to meet up at some point and have a drink!
  8. Hey Ladies! I still have to buy everything for the gift bags. I still have last minute stragglers trying to book AFTER my RSVP date of Aug 1st... very annoying!!! Anyone starting to get nervous with all the hurricane activity that is starting up
  9. Hey blackrose222, have u heard from Crystal yet? If so what happened?
  10. Ok... so now I am really worried... No one has anything positive to say about Bittersweet? It is now a month before I need my flowers, and I have heard nothing from Crystal. I emailed her last week and got an automated response that she would be out of the office until Tuesday. It is now Thursday.. I have heard nothing. I also got a wierd email from another florist that I had contacted prior to going with Crystal. They have been checking the wedding forums and are now soliciting people that they see on here if they know they are using Crystal....
  11. Hi Ladies, I just wanted to touch base with anyone that is using Bittersweet for their flowers. Recently I have only read some not so good reviews. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that received their flowers within the last 2 months and was satisfied? I am getting married in Sept. and I am using Bittersweet. When should I expect an email with a pic of my flowers for approval? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

I wore them during my dress fitting and was hot, so I was considering not wearing them for the wedding. Then once I had spent a few days in the heat of Jamaica, and put on my wedding dress, I decided the spanx were not worth the extra heat. My dress was not super poofy and had 2 lining and the actual dress, but my legs were SO hot during the reception and when taking pictures. The dress just didn't breathe at all, so it was like my legs were in an oven. Once I bustled it for the dinner and dancing, I was even more hot. Nothing unbearable, but definitely hot. Here's a thought: I went up to my room to freshen up after pictures and before dinner, and to bustle my dress. You could try wearing the spanx for the ceremony and pictures, but if they get too hot, take them off before the reception. Just an idea. And just know - you will look amazing and feel amazing on your wedding day, and you don't need spanx to achieve that! So either way, you'll have a fantastic day! Best of luck and let me know if I can answer any other questions. Thanks for the advice! My dress is just satin with a lining underneath. I want that illusion of a perfectly smooth waistline Just like you suggested, I was thinking about just wearing the spanx for the ceremony and then ditching them in my room for the reception. I love to dance, so I know I will definitely be hot! Thanks for help and congrats again!
  13. I am getting married 9/18/09 at the Riu Ocho Rios! Just had my first dress fitting last Saturday! And a bridal shower yesterday! Still have little odds and ends to do... OOT bags, place cards, etc.... I am starting to get really excited!!! Hope the weather agrees!
  14. Thanks ladies for the well wishes!! I can't wait... but there is so much to do still! I will definitely leave a detailed review as soon as we get back!
  15. I would email Chandlyn asap and find out. It can't hurt to ask. Good luck!!
  16. Congratulations and thanks for sharing your review and pics!!! You were gorgeous! Question about the spanx issue.... did you put them on at first and then discover they were too hot? I really want to wear spanx with my dress... I can deal with being hot... I guess now I am just worried about sweating through them (if that is possible). did you have that issue when you first put them on?
  17. Your pics are gorgeous! Your photog did a great job! You look so happy in all of the pics!
  18. Kenya they look fabulous!!! We are getting close!!!
  19. Does anyone have the address for the ROR where the birth certificate needs to be sent to? The address on the website is missing the PO box number. Thanks! Courtney
  20. Here is a previous thread with all of the menu options. I am assuming that the one with the oxtail and curry food is the jamaican menu. Not sure if the prices have changed or not. Hope this helps! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t37412
  21. Hey Ladies, For those of you that have done real touch flowers for your ceremony, how far in advance did you get your sample pics to see if you approve of the design? What is the usual amount of time given so that changes can be made if needed? My wedding is in Sept so I was just curious when I should expect an email. Thanks, Courtney
  22. Congratulations! Thanks for your review! Can't wait for some pics!
  23. They are in Kingston, but they do deliver to Ocho Rios and I think anywhere else for a delivery charge.
  24. You can also search under the flower thread that is under the main forum. There is TONS of info and pics on flowers, both real and fake. I plan to use real touch just so I know I am getting exactly what I want. I have seen some really pretty real pics in photos, but I have also read some reviews where brides didn't get exactly what they asked for from the florist. They deliver right before ceremony time, so there is no time for changes.
