Did the $55/pp cover the bar/bartender as well? Did you have any trouble getting reservations to the restaurants on the resort? Did you have to tip to get in? How much did you pay for your hair to be done the morning of the wedding? Was all of your wedding party satisfied with the spa services?

My contacts make my eyes pretty sensitive to sunlight so I am a little nervous about this. I don't want to mess up all of my wedding ceremony pics! Did you have tables at the Poolside reception? Did you feel like you had enough room to dance? I was going to do the Seagrape, but now I am rethinking after you mentioned the noise from the main stage. Did any of your guests get to eat in the other restaurants? Are tips kind of expected to make a reservation? You aren't the first bride to mention that reservations were only available after a tip was offered. Overall it sounds like you had a great time! Congrats!

I am pretty sure that no matter where you have your dinner that if it is over 50 people, you will be paying per person. You may want to email Chandlyn directly and see if this is still the case.

My best friend straight out told me she wouldn't be coming because of finances. She is single, no kids, and has a full-time job. She is super cheap, doesn't even have cable, but yet can't scrape together the money to come and be my MOH. She had the nerve to ask why we didn't just plan a wedding back closer to our hometowns. She doesn't even live in our hometown! She would have to travel there too!!! We gave a years notice hoping that people are saving. We purposely chose Jamaica because it is one of the more affordable islands. We are still a little over 8 months left until our wedding, so I have yet to see exactly how many people are definitely coming. This process will definitely show u who u are important to. If any of my friends invited me to their one and only wedding to the love of their life, i would find a way to be there no matter what!

smk- I don't think it is too early. Our wedding is mid sept '09 and we already booked our choice. Alot of people get married there and plan early. We didn't get our first choice for the time of our wedding ceremony, so we knew we had to book our reception early! Good luck with your planning!

Amagee- Thanks for sharing! Do u know if the $12 for the chair covers is just for plain white slip covers, or does it include a colored bow/sash as well?

AnnaC- I read somewhere that Michael prefers that others are not taking tons of pics while he is working with you. It can be very distracting, especially if you are looking at other cameras instead of his. You could always work with Michael and then take pics with your guests after his time.

The search tool in the right hand corner of your screen will really help you out. First, the RIU website explains what each wedding package comes with. The options for a reception are Mammee Bay, Plantation, Poolside, Disco, or Seagrape. If you search each of these, you will find more info and pics as well. Also, look under the Wedding Reviews area and you can read reviews and view pics from previous brides. Good luck!

I started planning mine a year before... and I am still hearing stuff.. from my parents! So I can totally relate. I just had to get to the point that as long as me and my FI are there, that's all that matters!

This is what is listed on the 2009 Price List that Michael had sent another forum member: Cancellations Time & picture arrangements are no subject to refund as arranged shortly (within 5 days before the wedding / Photo appointment) If you haven't made any payments I wouldn't worry. I would cancel by the 14th, out of courtesy, which would keep you out of the 5 day period he asked for.Hope this helps!
