Busty Brides - Bra Advice
edssbride09 replied to YoursTruly's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I am a 34DD and am lucky enough to have found a well-structured dress that doesn't require a bra! Provided it fits well, and you have enough support under "the girls" to hold them up you will be fine. I have gone the bustier route before and my FI said i looked like a "medieval prostitute"... so watch out you don't end up with a chin rest! -
He looks so cute... like a little munchkin! Congratulations!

I assume no-one has any ideas about this one... i love these flowers!

Glad to see there is another EDSS bride on here! I think we have chosen a great venue, and the fact that you have already been there affirms it! I am going to have to get all the little secrets from you after your wedding! Congratulations!

Candy Buffett Inspiration
edssbride09 replied to JennyK's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Yummy! I can't wait to start planning my own candy table! It is the only thing about my wedding I have truly dreamed of :-) -
Hey, Not sure if this will help in this case since I don't know if your place ships from the US or not, but since you are in Vancouver, it is easy to go to Pt. Roberts to pick stuff up. There are a whole bunch of places there that you can have stuff shipped to and then you just pay a small fee to pick it up there (3.00USD for a package under 20lbs). This way you don't ever have to pay brokerage fees and only rarely will have to pay Duty... it all depends on which customs officer you have. Plus in pt. roberts the wait is NEVER more than 15 min to cross, so may be worth it! I have used Tsb Shipping Plus, LLC

I have panic attacks on my own on the planes, nevermind knowing they will be under the plane. Sometimes I wish I could just explain to them how what is going on edessbride09, did you have your cat under the plane or as carry on? and did you fly with westjet? Hey Ana, Our cat flew in the cabin with us on WestJet, rather than under the plane... though i actually regretted this and would put him in the cargo hold next time. I don't think that seeing us was at all calming for him, and all the other people around made it more stressful. I know people that work on Westjet and they say that the animals are really well treated on their trip to cargo, and that most animals do really well down there. I suggest taking a little sedative for yourself instead of giving it to the cats :-)

Hey Ana, My FI and i moved from Montreal to Vancouver last year and brought our baby (our cat) with us. I have never been so worried about anything before as he is an indoor cat that panics on even the shortest trip in a car, plus he is the love of my life (my FI hates it when i say that)... The morning we moved, he absolutely refused to take a sedative (even mushed in his favourite food), so he flew without. He was in transit for 10hours, and he came out of his carrier as good as new (though definitely unhappy). All I can say is that the move will be so much worse for you than for them, and they will be ok. After a day or so he had forgotten all about it and was exploring his new home. Good luck, i am sure it will go well!

edssbride09 replied to edssbride09's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Wow everyone!!! Thanks for all the input, and it totally made me feel reassured when we placed the order today for strappy #2!!! The best part that i left out of the post is that this dress is only $64.00 with free shipping!!! Can you believe that? So i highly recommend this designer Donna Ricco, her dresses are top quality, and beautiful. Plus she is having a sale right now so you could score some beautiful dresses if you take a peek. Here is the website, happy shopping!! Donna Ricco: Sleevelss Wrap Front V-Back Short Dress -
Hi Everyone, So I was sure that my 4 bridesmaids and I had all agreed on a bridesmaid dress... that was until another dress was thrown into the mix! I need some advice! So basically I have 4 VERY different bridesmaids... everyone had agreed to this lovely alfred angelo strapless I really like the dress but am worried about 2 things about this. #1 being tan lines, which i hate more than anything, and #2 being the abilities of it to hold up the ample busom of one of my bridesmaids. I LOVE the colour of this dress though The new dress that has been thrown into the mix is this one I much prefer the style of this dress, and it looks fabulous on my busty BM. 2 of the BM's prefer this one, and the other 2 prefer the other one (but they would all go for either). I am leaning towards this one myself because I love the style so much more and it is just so "Beach Wedding." I would however be compromising on the colour. I am just scared it is too bright! What do you guys think? Which dress should we go with? Assume for the sake of this that these are the only 2 dresses we can choose from, i am hesitant to throw other dresses into the mix, and I want them in the same dress... HELP! Thanks

Charge to bring your own decor items?
edssbride09 replied to edssbride09's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I think i must have misunderstood. To me it would be worth the charge to pay the $5/pp fee for setup, but i had assumed that it was just to bring it and we had to set it up ourselves. I am sure my WC will clarify that... thanks! -
Is it customary to be charged to bring your own decorations to your DW? When I mentioned to my WC (who is fabulous) that i was planning to bring some decorations, she said that wouldn't be a problem but there would be a $5/per person charge... It isn't a lot of money, but we are having over 50 people so that is $250 wasted. I just sent her an email clarifying this because it isn't listed anywhere as a potential charge... should i "fight" this, or just let it go? Thanks!

Thanks for all your help so far! So here is some more info...it is very likely polyester, but it is very much like Satin...very light satin though, not heavy and stiff, very light and flowy. It is rouched all the way down past the hips (so it keeps everything nice and tight!) and it then flows out. It is NOT mermaid style though, more A-line I suppose. Here is another very similar Maggie Sottero one to show what i mean. It is super light on, and it probably does come from some destination collection. MaggieSottero.com - AD8502 - Dress Detail Thanks!
