  1. I know....it's so exciting when you get a great deal on something! I will take some pics of the dress and me in the dress this weekend (my MOH is coming in town for the weekend so she can take 'em) and will post them soon! YEA!!!
  2. OK, so I have read the reviews of buying a wedding dress from China, online, replica's, etc... However, I want to share my story with all of you looking for an inexpensive wedding dress or a TTD. I looked and looked everywhere for a TTD and couldn't find something I really liked without it costing at least $400+. I already have my main gown, which is a Maggie Sottero and I LOVE LOVE it! Anyway, I wanted to find something with kinda the same look....strapless, corset back, etc. Anyway, I found a dress on Light in the Box for $139.99! I knew it just had to be very cheaply made or something, but it was in my budget and I figured if it was too awful I could take it to my seamstress and have her do something with it to make it better. I debated for about 2 weeks on this and their delivery time said it would take 18-20 WORKING days to make, another 3-5 working days to ship and then however long it takes to get from China to Dallas. I knew I was really pushing it since I am getting married May 3, so I went ahead and placed the order. I really didn't want to pay for a ton of alterations, so I paid a little extra ($20) to have them make it to my exact measurements....I am very short and big busted! Their standard length from hollow to hem is 60 inches....I had them make mine at 54 inches! I placed the order on March 5th and the sweet little UPS guy (my new BFF from all of my wedding ordering! ha) delivered it to my house today, March 26th! I immediately ran to try it on and inspect it to see what it looked like and I was amazed! It looks exactly like the picture and fits me perfectly! I also paid another $9.99 for a garment bag and they through in a garter, gloves and a veil! The total cost of the dress, custom made, garment bag and accessories, shipping and insurance came to $231.14!!!! If any of you are looking for dress on a buget, I would highly recommend this place!!! Let me know if you have any further questions! I will post a pic of the dress from their site and will post one of me in it as soon as someone is here to photograph me! lol This dress is perfect for my TTD session....I can't wait! Cheap wedding dresses On Sale! Save your money on wholesale wedding dresses now!
  3. We used our monogram on the cups/mugs and I love how they turned out! People don't care if it has something on the cup or not, they will use them! I ordered a lot of extras, so I am also handing those out at our couples shower this saturday. Some people will have 2 (1 from the shower and 1 in their OOT bag), but oh well.....I think everyone that's not able to make the trip will appreciate the gesture and feel like they are a part of the wedding, even though they aren't coming to Mexico! I am handing out our photoshare cards we ordered from Vista Print, so they will also have the website to see our wedding photos!
  4. Tammy, thanks for posting this! I am so ordering me some! I can't wait to see the results! WooHoo!
  5. We are doing something a little different. My mother is making a Guest Quilt! She has purchased all the material (in our wedding colors) and made the quilt squares. She is giving each person a square...even the children attending, a certain type of fabric pen, a piece of sandpaper (I guess you need this to lay the fabric over the sandpaper so the fabric stays in place while they write) and putting it all in a colored envelope with an instruction card and details (oversized post card from Vista Print). We are putting these in all the OOT bags so the guests can fill them out in their rooms without feeling rushed and then they will bring the completed squares (messages, advice, wishes, etc) to the reception where there will be a basket for them to put them in. My mother will take all the squares and make us a wonderful quilt....she said the messages will be on the back side of the quilt so that we can use it to put on the foot of our bed for decoration and also to look at the messages whenever we wanted. I am so excited about this because it is different and something we can use and remember our wedding every day!!! I will def post pics when we get the completed product!
  6. Christina~ Thanks so much for sharing your photos with us! They are great and you looked beautiful!!!! Did you and your bridesmaids get ready in the spa? Is there plenty of room? I am having 5 BM's, so just curious. Also, I noticed that you didn't use the dance floor either. Is the ground pretty level...enough to where heels? I have already paid for the dance floor....hopefully they will let me use that money somewhere else. Sounds like you had a great time....with the exception of the room issues. Congratulations!!!

  8. For those of you looking for cute sand ceremony ideas, check out this website: Sandframes - Home They have some really cute sand frames that you customize. Here is a photo of one from their website. They are great and such a neat keepsake! I ordered mine and it should be here any day! They are great to work with as well. I start to think I am almost done with everything, then I think of more that I haven't finished yet! Like the seating chart and place cards.....I have it almost finished, but still waiting on 2 people who are trying to see if they can go or not due to their financial situation. I think if I don't know for sure by the end of the week, I will go ahead and finalize the seating arrangement. If they book after that, they can sit at the kid table! haha Damn, those procrastinating people! lol I still need to tie raffia ribbons on the votive holders and hot glue a mini starfish to all of them for part of the centerpieces. I need to print and put together the ceremony programs, print the pages of the welcome books (I've already designed and typed them) and insert them in the books, make the favor tags to go with the starfish wine stoppers, finish the photo table numbers (almost done), make timelines for the photog, Dj, bridal party, etc., find the BM's earrings (I already purchased the necklaces), buy me a bracelet for the ceremony, purchase my shoes for the reception, make a "must have" photo list for the photog, finalize the guys ATV tour, get pricing on shipping from Fed-Ex for shipping our HUGE centerpieces...that's gonna be $$$$-YUCK!, do trial run on my hair (my hairdresser is coming to Mexico with us), figure out how to get everthing else down to Mexico since the airlines are now charging for more than one checked bag, go shopping and buy some cute new outfits to wear.....WOW, my list seems to keep growing! I had better get my A$$ in gear!!!! lol
  9. I did the insert cards as well. My guests loved our invitations and were so glad we put so much information in them. Here are some pics of the invitation and the insert cards. I hope these help you get an idea! Outside of invitation: Inside: Invitation wording: RSVP: Wedding Day insert: Travel & Accomodations insert: Let's Celebrate insert: If it's too hard to read the wording, let me know your email address and I can email it to you.....I tried to make the pics smaller, but it may be too small to read!
  10. Here's what is in our OOT bags: Welcome Book (includes welcome letter, area map, map of the resort, itenary of the weekend events, photoshare info and photoshare printed business card (Vista Print), currency exchange, puzzles, meet the guests, etc) Custom made luggage tags w/ our monogram on one side Personalized Mugs Spanish for Dummies Individual Drink Mixers (Mojito and Margarita) 1st Aid Kit Hand Sanitizer Listerine Strips Hangover Kit (includes advil, tums, immodium & alka-seltzer) Riviera Maya Post card and personalized pens (for the guests to write a short note about their favorite part from the trip or wedding advice to send to us once they get home....this will go in the guest book.) Music CD...songs to remind them of the trip. Plastic water-proof Hibiscus container (from OTC) Key/tip holder Disposable Cameras tropical candy snacks Room Spray (Bath & Bodyworks) Pashmina I think that's all....I've been adding to these bags since August and they just keep growing! lol We have 35 guests booked.
  11. Have you checked with Elizabeth Medina to see if she is available? Her work is amazing! We will actually be there April 29-May 7, we are bringing our photographer from home, but he will only be there May 1-4. He does a lot of print photography for fashion magazines, but I don't think he has done many TTD sessions. He is very excited about doing mine and I have complete faith in him. If you don't find anyone, let me know and I can see if he would be interested.
  12. Trayce-when you paid, did you finalize the flavor of your cake? Yes, they will send you a spreadsheet of all of your requests that they send to the onsite coordinators. The hazlenut cake flavor is not listed as an option, but just tell Tiffany and she will add it for you.
  13. All I can say is WOW!!!! Those photos are beautiful!!! Anyone who views them will be able to see how truly magical that day and evening was for both of you! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

GRRRRRR One of the past brides on here said they had the hazlenut flavored cake and said it was soooo good, very moist and that her guests loved it. Tiffany told me the same thing, but when I asked if we could have the hazelnut as an option, she said yes. Some of the other brides said their cake was still frozen and not that fresh (choc, vanilla). We decided to go with hazelnut primarily because that's not a flavor listed therefore not many people have chosen it, so hopefully they won't have it frozen and it will be freshly made....who knows....that's just my wierd way of thinking! lol
  15. Here's one that I found and am using. It's great...it keeps track of everything: RSVP's, menu selection, gifts, thank you, etc.. I hope this helps! guest tracker(1).xls
  16. We have decided to put a CD in all the OOT bags and I'm trying to decide what songs to use. I want them to be songs either to remember the wedding or to remember Mexico. Either way, I want them to think of us when they hear the CD. Here's some songs I thought about using.....please let me know if you have any you're using or any I may have left out! Thanks!!! Island in the sun-Weezer Beautiful Day-U2 I'm Yours-Jason Mraz Beer in Mexico-Kenny Chesney Somewhere Over the Rainbow-Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole Better Together-Jack Johnson Love Song-311 Me and You-Kenny Chesney (1st dance) When You Say Nothing at All-Allison Krauss (bridal entrance-processional) Stays in Mexico-Toby Keith
  17. Wow....I thought we were the only one's taking our kids! lol I have 2 and my FI has 2 as well. Luckily, we have both of our families going so it's not too much of a big deal for us. FI and I are staying 9 days, so the kids can't even travel with us. My MOH is taking my 2 kids when she goes, we had to book them in their room, however, they will stay with my parents once they arrive. FI's 2 kids are going and staying with his parents in their room. It's kinda a hassle shuffling the kids around, but it actually worked out pretty good for the one's travelling with them since they got more of a discount having 4 people in a room! I hope that helps!!!
  18. I just voted! You are so beautiful....Godd Luck!!!!
  19. Kristin, Thank you so much for the wonderful review!!!! It seems like everything down there is really coming together! Yea!!!!
  20. I am working on my DIY programs and have some empty space and would like to use a quote or some sort of acknowledgements. I wanted to know if anyone has used one they loved that they would be willing to share. Thanks so much!!!!
