She was AMAZING!!!!! I was a little worried with a woman minister also, but she eased all of my fears so quickly! We had written our entire ceremony because we weren't sure of everything they would say and we thought it would be best plus we could have them say all we wanted them to say. We were so shocked......she memorized our entire ceremony! She looked at her notes here and there, but the ceremony we gave her was over 8 pages typed! Everyone was so impressed with her!!

I know...I was so sad you guys weren't there! I asked Gilberto if you had cancelled because we hadn't seen you or your group. I was hoping to meet you guys! I did meet a girl on here the last day before we left....that was neat meeting someone you have seen on BDW....... Thanks you again!!! Next trip we can meet! lol

The place where you were dancing, is that the plaza? If it is, do you think it is better to have the reception at the place you were at or just on the beach? 2. How much did your cake cost? Did you show them a picture of what you wanted, and how many people did it feed? 3. How much is it to have a cocktail reception, and how is it different than just having your guests get drinks from the bars around? Hey Meghan~ Yes, that's the new plaza. In the slideshow, there is a pic of the whole plaza not decorated. It's a lot bigger than you would think! I think it's the perfect place for a reception! The beach gets very windy.....honestly, it just feels more like a reception at the plaza rather than on the beach. I can't recall what we paid for the cake. It's in the amenities pkg price for 20-30 people....I just asked for a 3 tier rather than the 2 tier. It was still the same price. I asked for a square cake, but that's what I got! lol It was plenty big.....we had a total of 30 guests and there was a lot of cake left-over. The cocktail reception is based on how many appetizers you choose. We picked 8 different one's plus the donkey bar. The donkey was a huge hit with all the guests! We had our own private servers and our own private bar. It was set up where we were on the beach and the resort had our area blocked off from other guests. At that time of day, there isn't a bar on the beach, so our guests would have had to walk up to Zocolo to get a drink.... Let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks, Tracy

What did you think of it? Would you pick it again? Was the dance floor big enough for everyone? Thanks. You looked beautiful. Loved your dress! Yes, I would absolutely pick that location again. The new plaza, in my opinion is the best place there for a reception! We had 30 total people and it was plenty big for us!

Here is a slideshow of our non-pro pics from our wedding at the Azul Sensatori in the Riviera Maya, Mexico on 5.3.09. There are quite a few random pics from our family and guests. It starts out with our arrival and the our guests arrival and welcome cocktail reception. Then next group of pics are from the 2nd day at the pool. There are also pics from our rehearsal/rehearsal dinner as well as the guys ATV excursion, me getting ready....then finally the wedding, our donkey bar cocktail hour and reception. I can't wait to get the pro pics....especially since I have a stupid look in most of these pics! lol Enjoy!!! Kodakgallery.com: Slideshow

The beach is so much nicer there and a loss less seaweed!

I got them all in less than a week!!!

Did any of you play a "video" and rent a projector/laptop? Did it work out ok? 4. For those that had the symbolic ceremony, did you bring a full script for the minister or did you leave it up to chance? Did you include readings, sand ceremony and were they cool with that? Thanks so much for your help! I'm starting to stress over all of the last minute details. Plus, I just had 11 guests cancel TODAY because of the swine flu. I just can't believe it. Trying to stay positive and focus on the day! 1. We did do a rehearsal since we had 3 kids we thought it was best. It was not coordinated through the WC's, though. We had our wedding party meet on the beach an hour before the rehearsal dinner. Our DJ did all the work and told everyone what to do. I'm glad we did it! 2. We requested a sweetheart table because we didn't want our families to get their feelings hurt. After dinner we mingled to all the tables....in between all the dancing! lol 3. We didn't do this one... 4. We wrote our entire ceremony because I was afraid of what their minister might say. The one we had was great and after meeting her I know she would've done a fantastic job on her own as well. I was very impressed because she memorized our entire ceremony! We were shocked, but it was amazing! Sorry...I missed these questions! That stinks to hear about the cancellations! It's crazy really.....I can't believe people are freaking out so bad over this! It just blows my mind!

I'll probably get it posted by this weekend if you're interested.

We started planning last summer, so I think that's why I kept adding more. I was pretty much finished planning by December, but I kept thinking of more and more.....it's def a lot more expensive that way, but it really was so worth it! Yes, the resort will let you bring pretty much anything and I brought them pics of how I wanted each thing set up and they did it perfectly. They did charge me a small $100 set-up fee, but with everything they set-up, it was fine with me so I didn't have to worry about it. I can't wait to get our pro-pics and will share when I get them. I keep getting all of our guests pics and may post some of those as well. Glad I could help!

Thanks!!

Is the sand packed down enough or is it fine and hard to walk in? THANK YOU! 1. We packed in suitcases, dufflebags, big boxes, etc. We wanted to ship the centerpieces, but when we went to the UPS store, it was going to cost $975 for 3 boxes! Crazy!!! We decided we would rather pay the oversize luggage fees instead. It worked out great....nothing broke! 2. We brought our own DJ....not sure about theirs, but Gilberto and their director of entertainment came up to us to say how great of a job our DJ did. One of them said, "Now that's a real M.C.".....so I'm guessing their DJ is nothing like US dj's. 3. I wore mine and they are 3 1/2 inches and were fine. I was worried, but where the ceremony is held, the sand is very packed.

Did you run into a lot of trouble getting them through customs? That's a big worry of mine right now! Congratulations on your wedding!! Thank you!!! We took 36 OOT bags and contents for each one. I made/or had receipts for each box/suitcase and kept it in it and gave a copy to the guest that transported it for us...just in case. No one ran into any hassles, except FI's parents who we had carry a box of glass rocks that we wanted to put in the bottom of the large glass centerpiece vases. The customs people could not understand why they had so many of the rocks and what they were for....I guess they had never seen them before. Other than that, I just made sure none of the receipts totalled more than $300 per family taking stuff for us. I used receipts for dollar stores, etc....they don't even look at them to see what was purchased. If they even looked at all, it was only at the dollar amount. I wouldn't worry too much because as soon as the customs people saw us, they asked if we were going to have a wedding. I guess it's pretty normal to take stuff down there. OTC is Oriental Trading Company. Yes, my hair was shorter in the engagement pics. I have been growing it out, but it is still pretty short...right above my shoulders. I knew I wanted to wear my hair up, but my hair is pretty fine and thin so it would've looked pretty wimpy. My SIL and I bought real human hair clip in extention pieces and she added a few here and there to give it some fullness. It matched my hair color perfectly and I couldn't even tell which part were the extention pieces and which were my own hair! It worked out great....a bit of advice, take Bed Head's-Hard Head hair spray. It is so windy and once she sprayed that on my hair, it did not move at all.....not even my bangs! That stuff is great for the Mexico weather!! Quote: Originally Posted by Virg Wow girl! You did an amazing job!! I especially love all the small details, tags and logos everywhere! I tried to post it, but the file is too big for the thread. If you PM me your email, I will send it to you.

That's a funny story! lol We took everything down there....from our centerpieces, table linens, chair sashes, OOT bag stuff, other decorations. We ended up having 16 or 17 bags!!!! FI and I took 6 and then we spread the rest out among the other guests to help transport everything down there. It was a pain since we had so much breakable stuff, but the good part is that since we had so much stuff, we got private transportation from the airport to the resort and everything barely fit in that! hahaha
