WOW is the only thing i can say about Grey's finale!!!
**~Jenn~** replied to Diva's topic in Random Thoughts
Private Practice did have a better season then Greys this year and even though their finale was good (and really sad) It wasn't as suspenseful. Greys has a way of doing that every year. I remember last year, when we figured out it was George a full five minutes before Meridith did, I got chills! I was like OMG!!! -

I like Callie & Arizona together, but it won't work out. Not is Cally still wants a baby and eventually that issue will arise again. I LOVE Avery. He is hot. I would love to see him with someone, but not Christina. She annoys me. I hope we get a few more new Characters next season. I was upset that the one Doctor died (can;t think of his name) The one who was with Bailey & Mandy Moore. I have to say, Greys can suck all season, but they sure know how to do a season Finale!! They always have good ones, every year. -

I was Married June 24, 2009 and I have to say, although it was REALLY hot (& humid) we had a beautiful week. It did rain alot the day we left to go home, but we didn't care. I think it's going to be Hit or miss, but I wouldnt say that June is a rainy month And Although I am no professional, to the post above mine..My Wedding was at 5:30pm and we got some really good pictures between 6 and 7...So I would try to move your ceremony up a half an hour

Potential to turn out bad! Need advice
**~Jenn~** replied to JanineA's topic in Just venting or funnies
I am glad things worked out for you! I guess it depends on the person/Bride on how a situation like this would be handled. You are the Bride, It's your day and It's your Wedding. It did come off to me as sounding a tad selfish, ONLY because in having a Destination Wedding, you are asking people to not only take a vacation that they didn't plan, Go to a place they may have not wanted to visit, But also to pay out a good amount of money to do so. I always felt a little guilty over that, even though people have the choice to not come at all. Then you wanted your FDIL to get a babysitter for your wedding. I totally get your point, but it did sound a little bit unfair at first. However, It looks like other members of your Fam agreed with you though and even your FSIL which is great and I am really glad that there wasn't any Drama. My 2 year old Neice was my Flower girl and DH's 3 year old Nephew was the Ring Boy. I knew that since they were both so young there could be issues. I just didn't mind. I knew if it was bad someone would step in and do something. His Nephew wouldn't walk down the Aisle without his mom, so I told her to walk down with him and it wasn't a problem at all. I think she minded more than I did..LOL My neice was a whole other story! LOL She skipped down the isle and she was so funny during my ceremoney that I litterally started laughing so hard in the middle of the Officiant talking!!. She was running circles around DH & I , She kept dropping her bucket which would make a loud sound and she really didn't want to stand in one place or listen to her mom. She wasn't screaming, she wasn't bad. The worst thing she did was get too close to the Cliff (The Gazebo at Dreams Cancun is on a high Cliff) and my Jr Bridesmaid would have to keep her away from it. When you watch my Video, She really does steal the show, but it's so funny! I love it. Her mom (My MOH) was mortified, but it didn't bother me. My wedding was beautiful, All of the most important people in my life were there and it was a beautiful day! I had so many other things to worry about, A crying baby wasn't one of them. Even if the baby doesn't want to play in the sand, someone will step in and take care of it. It will all work out and I wish you lots of luck and beautiful Wedding! -

Volleyball, Water Aerobics, Dance lessons, & ETC...... Oh One night there was a movie on the beach. That was pretty cool. Yes I was & yes, I will say, the Swim up bar in the big pool is a Fabulous spot and can get pretty crowded during the day. Grab a blue Floaty, grab a drink and enjoy your day! (go for the Mango Tango for sure!) Quote: Originally Posted by Gwen Attention April/May Dreams Cancun Brides!!!!! You may be in for a surprise if you have an upcoming wedding at this resort. We have just returned from our wedding on Apr 10. Let us start by saying our friends and family would all consider us very laid back people and very low maintenance. We picked this wedding site a year ago, and even traveled to Dreams 6 months ago to check the locale out. We specifically asked at that time if there would be and construction/changes planned. Answer was no. When we arrived at the resort, we were upgraded to a towers room. However, the room overlooked the disastrous construction site where our special day was to take place. Our gazebo had been torn down!! Yes, the beautiful gazebo that is still up on the website is now gone. There was a huge blue tarp covering the now construction zone known as our wedding site. In addition, the beautiful surrounding area had changed. There were several hundred yards of huge concrete blocks with rebar sticking out, forming a new jetty that was quite unnatural appearing. The private adjacent beach where our reception was to be held was completely redone and built up so that it was not quite so private and communicated with the other resorts. Again, no planned changes as they told us. We immediately had a meeting with several managers (bride in tears of course). When I asked why they had withheld all of this information, they claimed it had all been done only 5 days prior. This was later found to be a complete lie as the local photographer who is at the resort 3-4 days weekly told me positively that it had been 25-26 days for the gazebo, much longer for the new jetty. We demanded that other arrangements be made as the bride would be wearing high heels and a beach wedding was not what we had been planning for a year. We ultimately decided to have our wedding at a sister resort (Now Resort) which was about a 45 min drive south. They provided a charter bus to transport our 50 guests. The wedding was nice there, although not what we had planned for so long and not what we were planning to bring our family/friends from another country to see. We proceeded to have meetings every other day or so with the wedding planner (Cecilia who was pretty good) and her boss (Rafael who was not so honest about timing of gazebo construction). As one can imagine, this made for a pretty stressful week prior to our wedding. One of the meetings was the day of the wedding, and finally another several days after. At each meeting was what we considered an insulting small discount on our botched wedding. In the meantime as our guests arrived, almost every guest was told at the desk that there were no rooms available for them. Some of them were upgraded after putting up a fuss in order to get a room. Many of them were not so fortunate and had to be put up in other hotels. The grooms own mother was not even staying at Dreams on our wedding day! We finally had our room relocated away from the construction site reminder and were placed back near the dolphins. In the end, we paid a portion of our initial wedding bill. We were not offered a return voucher stay in the future even though we inquired about it several times. Overall the experience was quite traumatic. We felt they were intentionally deceitful before we arrived, then lied to our faces directly, and ultimately gave very little to zero effort to attempt to make up for it or try to make us feel happy or special in any way. It also rained the last 3 days of our 12 day trip resulting in several leaks in our room and many other across the property including the world cafe (only place open for breakfast) causing it to be closed down. We do not plan a trip back at this point, nor do we recommend to others for vacation or especially for a wedding. We are happy we are married but quite happy that our experience at Dreams Cancun is over. On a positive note, the food was overall pretty good across the resort. Also, the photographer and videographer were awesome and provided a great video and over 600 great pictures. But if you are expecting more than pictures and food for that special day of your life, you may rethink your options as it’s not too late. Wow....I am sure everyone is grateful for your info here. I think alot of the brides were waiting for someone to get back. It sounds like they are not handling this situation very well & that is unfortunate because as a past Dreams Bride, I can tell you that my Wedding there was just about Flawless. They couldn't do enough for me and I just can t say enough about how wonderful they were It seems to be that they may have bitten off a little more than they can chew with this construction..Or..maybe they had a delay and didn't think it would take up so much time. Whatever the deal is, it's definitely wrong to put brides through that kind of stress. Again, I am so sorry for everything that you just went through...But Also, I think that you should have specified that most of your guests whose rooms were not there, booked through Oribitz or an online vendor & not a TA. Everyone wants a good deal, but that deal def isn't worth it if you have to be moved to another hotel, so going through a TA would be everyone's best/safest bet (in my opinion). I say this, because there are alot of stressed out brides on this thread and to say something like that without all of the specifics is just adding to that stress. I hope that through all of your stress you managed to have a good time. I really feel for you and all that you went through with the gazebo and having to move your wedding. I have no idea how I would have handled that, but it sounds like you did get compensated in the end as far as your Wedding bill? Last but not least, Congrats!! Your a Mrs! I would love to see some of your pictures as i am sure you looked beautiful on your wedding day~ )

We have a party of about 20 people joining us, and I have decided that its not enough people to have a DJ and dance floor etc, i was wondering if any one was able to tell me, if it is possible to book a table at one of the entertainment bars after our meal?? Also, the entertainment at the hotel any good? I have asked the WC, but she seems to be ignoring the question! Thank you! J x To be honest, the entertainment at the hotel mainly consists of people singing and playing music in the main lobby bar. They do have some form of entertainment each night, but you have to go next door to Azucar Bar. The only thing we went to was the Hypnotist and he was awesome. We mostly just sat around the Lobby bars at night and hung out. I was a little dissapointed in the night life at dreams, but I guess because the clubs aren't that far away & they have one right next door, they figured they didn't have to do much on site. The Azucar bar seemed pretty unlively at night after the entertainment was done though. The night of my Wedding was 80's night, so a bunch of people went there when the wedding was over (about 10ish) and they said 80's night was over and their was no one in there really Might be funn for your wedding reception though!! hahahaha

Hey Ladies!! I am really sorry that all of you april brides are going through this!! You shouldn't have to be, and they should have gave you some warning. My Advice would be to contact your WC somehow and start getting things in writing. You basically know that you won't have the original Gazebo in the area that you booked, so start asking for copensation...Extra decorations..ETC....Same thing for the brides who wanted the terrance for their reception. Even if you change your mind when you get there and thing everything is fine as is, at least you will have some confirmation in writing to change certain things at no extra cost to you. I saw the pic of the "New" beach on the facebook page yesterday and it made me sad :-( That is one area that i thought they would never change. As I said before, I am sure it's still as beautiful as it was and it's still an awesome spot. Good luck girls! Don't worry too much. This time last year we were dealing with that HUGE Swine Flu outbreak and freaking out, worried about people cancelling, worrying about getting sick, or one of our guests getting sick..It was crazy...So be thankful that you have things that you can kind of control. Your Weddings will all be beautiful and your going to have an awesome time no matter what!! I can't wait to see pictures & read the reviews

Another Bride just posted that when she showed up, the Gazebo was torn down. That is sad because alot of people pick Dreams Cancun because of that Gazebo and the view. They are messing with both now. I am sure it's all for the better though. They would be really dumb to ruin a good thing...Don't worry Ladies!!

I'm sorry :-( I will continue to hope & pray for his safe return!

I'm sorry you are upset and stresed. :-( Hang in there. All of the girls are right, we all go through this or something similar to it. When you decide to have a Destination Wedding you really have to be prepared to have alot of people complain and you have to be prepared for possibly a small number of people who attend. If you don't want that and if it's really important for you to have certain people there, or even a larger # of people there, then maybe you should re-think your options. I know for DH & I when we first decided to do a DW, we contacted our immediate Family who we knew that we def wanted there & wouldn't get married without and we asked them if this is something that they would be able to do. All of them said yes and in the end all of them (except my brother & his family) were able to come and also a few friends came as well. We had a small group, 23 people including us, but it was Funn and worth it. If I had to do it all over again, the only thing I would do differently was decide on having a DW sooner so more people would have the year and a half to save instead of just a couple of months. I see that your getting married in May of 2011. I think that is enough time for the people who really matter in your life to save & come to your wedding. I don't know just how expensive Zoetry is (I have never heard of it) but I am sure it is Do-able with over a years notice for most people. In the end, please don't make your decision based on everyone else's opinion's. Make your decision based on what you and your FI want most. Either a DW no matter who can make it, or if you would rather have everyone be able to be there, at a different location. I wish you lots of luck!

I am on Book 2 of the Sookie Stackhouse series...I like them, but I am def not addicted. I feel like the books are lacking until you get to the last few chapters. I'll probably read the whole series eventually, but I thought that i was going to be so addicted I was going to want to run out and get the rest of the books.....I may take a break in between. I am curious to see True Blood now tho!!

Dreams Cancun Wedding Review 2/23/10
**~Jenn~** replied to Mardigras's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Great Review and Congrats!!! Can't wait to see pics!!! -
This is horrible!! I hope that you find your dog soon I know that sometimes when Cats get lost you can leave a piece of unwashed clothing that you recently wore on your doorstep and some people have said that worked. It helps the cat find your scent and find it's way back home. Maybe you can leave a piece of clothing near the Kennel since that is where is he ran from? It may be worth a try. Also, In regards to that collar they put on him, they do that because if the dog should get into a fight with another dog, or even if their collar gets caught on something, they can get really hurt, so they use those collars when you board your dog as a precaution. I only know this because my Dog goes to Doggy Daycare and he is require to have one of those collars while he is there. So when we drop him off they change his collar and they change it back when we pick him up. However, they should not have walked your dog with one of those collars in my opinon. Dogs can easily get out of them, since that is what they are made for! They should have known better. I can just imagine how you and your parents feel right now...I would be devastated & I will continue to hope for his safe return. Please keep us updated and as a previous poster said, I don't think it's a bad idea to start knocking on some doors. He is a Gorgeous Pure Bred, If he was found, someone may have decided to keep him, even though that is so horribly wrong!!!

Now if only they would renovate the rooms, it'd be great And make an infinity pool instead of the lagoon...lol I think it's going to be awesome without the Palapas!! I was just wondering if any of you ladies know any more detail. There is a club that is basically attached to the resort, it's called Azucar Bar. I believe you get free admission and 2 free drinks, but since it's technically not in Dreams, it's not part of the all inclusive, so there can be outside people there and you will have to pay after the first 2 drinks (although we only went there for the Hypnotist the one night and had just our 2 drinks, so i don't know if they actually charge you and if they are expensive) The bar in the lobby (not the one in the tower, the one where you check in) they usually have someone there playing the guitar and singing, but it was kind of Mellow when I was there. We spent alot of time there at night though. Mainly because we were so tired we just wanted to stay in the resort.
