I take that back - they played for 3 hours. We had Trio Los Mosquitos for cocktail Hour from 6-7PM We played our own mixed cd from 7-8PM while every one was moving up to the reception area and getting seated and waiting for dinner ( Kilometro was set up and played our cd through their speakers during this hour) Then they came on at 8PM and played some slower, good music while we were eating dinner. Then from 9-11 they rocked out!!!

Here is Kilometros website - they were amazing - every last one of our 40 guests was up dancing the whole night!!!! -= KILOMETRO =- I beleive the rate was around $3,200 for 4 hours and that includes stage, lighting and dance floor....they were worth every penny and completely made the whole reception!

Rebekah - i know we have been talking through email ...but I just have to say...the Appetizers you listed are what we had and they were delicious.....everyone loved them!!!! Also, we did a Blue Margarita as our "signature drink"....Everyone raved about it....It was wonderful. You must do your cocktail hour at the sky pool - the views are the best EVER, and perfect to watch the sunset..... PBSB does an awesome job, everything is done so classy - I could go on and on. If I could ever get some wedding pictures, I could post on here for all to seee! -
Anyone else wait 5 months for photos?
latown9958 replied to latown9958's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I figured 3 months max. In the beginning he told me August..and it just keeps getting pushed back...he has been good about responding to emails and he agrees he is taking to long. He emailed me and said his assistant should have them ready hopefully by oct 3rd weekend. Well here we are, almost two more weeks have passed since Oct 3 -no pictures and no email from him. He was a great photographer, great to work with. I just didnt know it was going to take 5 months to get my wedding pictures in.....I cant wait to see them, I know they will be beautiful. However, he could at least send a FEW so we have something to show people? I am not the only one frustrated - all our family and friends are dying to see! And all of this is nothing that I havent already told him myself. -

Yes heather it is. I know he does great work... But 5 months in my opinion is entirely too long. It does not take that long to do photos and I keep getting excuses from him. Getting EXTREMELY frustrated and dont feel like this is fair at all considering how much $$ we paid for these and how long we have patiently been waiting. -

HI-Larious - you girls gotta read this lol.... Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system. Walk for at least hour a day, go for a swim, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc. Wash your hands often. If you can’t wash them, keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around. Wear a mask when out in public places and avoid going out in public as much as possible while the swine flu is spreading. Get lots of fresh air. Open windows whenever possible. Get plenty of rest. Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can. OR …. You can take the doctor’s office approach. Think about it, when you go for a shot, what do they do first? Clean your arm with alcohol.. Why? Because alcohol kills germs. So…… I put on my mask, walk to the liquor store (exercise), I put lime in my Corona (fruit), celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies), drink on the bar patio (fresh air), get drunk, tell jokes, and laugh (eliminate stress) and then pass out (rest). The way I see it, if you keep your alcohol levels up flu germs can’t get you!!!! I know where I'm headed - Happy Hour!

let me rephrase that - some people are canceling weddings who do not have to and their weddings arent even until two and three months away - others have to ( military, canada, etc) which they have no choice in the matter and I feel so bad for all of you girls being forced to. But just know it will be great no matter where you end up
-
Total agree Paula! All blown way out of proportion. In the end its just the flu, plain old flu. And while everyone is freaking out canceling their weddings ( some of which aren't even until July!) we will be in MEXICO - Margaritas in hand! All of are guest are on board and ready to get the hell out of the US, away from any TV or Radio and just have FUN! BTW - LOVE the Casa Magna Marriot - have stayed their twice - its BEAUTIFUL!

A little inspiration I received from my father via email this morning. ( Mind you my father is a 56 yr old white male/Chemical Engineer.) Bring 'em out, bring 'em out, it's hard to talk wif' da swine flu in yo' mouf................. HAHAHA god love him..... Also another email i received this morning from my wonderful WC at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo - Hi Lauren, Cabo has not been affected and all restaurants, bar, resorts and activities are working as usually. Absolutely and military totally understandable. If our situation was differnet and our closest friends and family didnt feel comfortable going - we would probably consider switching locations. Or FI and I would just go on ourselves, then have a big party when we get back. Thankfully - most of our guests are on board with us and agree - they could catch it anywhere at this point and are ready to hit up the pool bar! i let everyone know though if they are not comfortable attending in mexico we COMPLETELY understand and will celebrate with them when we get back. Really the day is about my FI and I and the vows we make to each other. Whether there is 2 of us or 32 of us....it will still be the most special day ever

The way I look at it is - I live in Dallas Texas - We have 3 confirmed cases in Richardson - 15 miles from me. Am I moving my house? HELL NO. Am I locking myself indoors - HELLLLLL NO. I'm I changing my wedding location? HELL to tha NO! I can just as easily get the FLU - here - as I can in Cabo. Wow the media really knows how to rile everyone up. People act like this is some mass killer taking over the world straight out of the movies. It's the flu, the plain old flu, just a different type. I mean why dont we hear about the 500,000+ deaths a year from the flu normally? Why all of a sudden is 150 in mexico a huge deal? Or 100 in the US? Its stupid and I am banning my sefl from foxnews.com and cnn.com Blown WAY WAY WAY out of proportion....

Well I am getting married May 23, 2009 in Cabo and we will be there come hell or high water. the "FLU" is not going to keep me from having the best day of my life. The media has blown this all out of proportion. Sure it should be casue for concern, take a few extra precations, hell take some Tamiflu with you. We will be there as long as we can get there - I think all of our guests are on board too and no one is worried enough to call the trip off. Back up plan - Vegas baby! Just remember - we will all be just as married 10 years from now as we would be if this all hadn't come about. And will have a great story to tell - Swine Flu ruined/almost ruined/postponed our wedding! Try to keep the humor alive.... It will all be ok... The joke going around is " my something blue" can be my baby blue surgical mask! Actually goes quite well with the decor ...

I am getting married at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach May 23, 2009 - YAY!!!. I must tell you - We did our site visit back in January and fell in love with the place - and our WC Laura. She is AWESOME and so great to work with. Everything has been done via email, I have changed my mind 500 times, and every time she responds quickly and in detail with everything I want. She is a complete joy to work with - I was so hesitant doing destination wedding and have heard horror stories about trying to communicate with the WC. Not Laura. Not to mention the hotel grounds are gorgeous, food great- staff friendly. We CAN NOT wait to get married there in 2 months! She never told us NO. Anything we want - she gets for us! And on your wedding day - you can be assured you are the ONLY wedding going on that day and all the focus is on you and your special day.. -

We love country AND DMB - so this song was perfect for us - the lyrics just make you happy to be ALIVE. Its beautiful, upbeat, great tempo. YOU MUST GO LISTEN! KENNY CHESNEYS PART: So damn easy to say that life’s so hard Everybody’s got their share of battle scars As for me I’d like to thank my lucky stars that I’m alive, and well It’d be easy to add up all the pain And all the dreams you set and watch go up in flames Dwell on the wreckage as it smolders in the rain But not me, I’m alive And today you know that’s good enough for me Breathing in and out is a blessing can’t you see Today is the first day of the rest of my life And I’m alive, and well I’m alive, and well DAVE MATTHEWS PART: Stars are dancin’ on the water here tonight It’s good for the soul, and there’s not a sole in sight But this motors caught it wind and brought me back to life Now I’m alive, and well And today you know that’s good enough for me Breathing in and out is a blessing can’t you see Today is the first day of the rest of my life Now I’m alive, and well Yeah I’m alive, and well -
We dont really have a budget (we are very lucky). My parents are paying for WHATEVER. So far, the actual wedding day at our resort Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach,(wedding location, cocktail hour, flowers, decor, reception, band,etc..) Is around $23,000 give or take. Photographer JCT is around $5,000. Rooms for immediate family - $5,000. Rehearsal Dinner - $3,000. Airfare - $5,000. Then welcome bags, spa, hair and maekup, dresss - I'd say for my end - the bride it will be around $50,000. Then we are honeymooning for 3 days after which Fiance fam is paying for - and they are also paying for a welcome dinner at Panchos. We have tried to cut costs where possible and still seems so expensive?!? Our reception alone whihc we requested buffet style sevice is $12,000 for 40 people.Seems pricey to me??

Im from Texas and this song is so SWEET. Let Me Hold You - Stoney LaRue - makes me smile. SO SWEET. He wrote this for his wife. My fiance and I dance to this all the time This might be our first dance song. This song is great as well - Stoney LaRue sings a version of this too.. Feet Don't Touch The Ground -- Brandon Jenkins I remember when I met you big city boy with small town blues this place seemed so small to me Well I was used to the boulevard when I saw you I fell so hard now I never wanna leave Yeah I could stay here forever we got moon light all night Lord I pray on the next star I see tonight to never lose this thing I found With you by my side I can do without the city lights I fly so high when you're around that my feet dont touch the ground Things I've done places I've been Just dont compare to the love I'm in it beats all I've ever seen If you'd a told me a few years back I'd still be livin in this place i'm at I'd said you're living in a dream But now I'll stay here forever we've got moon light all night Lord I'll pray on the next star I see tonight and never loose this thing I've found With you by my side I can do without the city lights I fly so high when you're around that my feet dont touch the ground Yeah I'm staying forever we've got moon light all night Lord I'll pray on the next star I see tonight and never loose this thing I've found With you by my side I can do without the city lights I fly so high when you're around that my feet dont touch the ground No my feet dont touch the ground (x2)
