I am still contemplating on a beach vs. gazebo ceremony as well.... i love the idea of a barefoot wedding.. would make for some beautiful pictures. Love your reception ideas Geminie - the lanterns are very pretty! Really helps sets the mood at night.

Soo excited to be apart of this thread now!!! I've just received confirmation of my wedding at Royal PDC on November 7th, 2009!! Thankfully, so far the WC at the resort have been very responsive..I hope the communication doesn't die down as it gets closer to my wedding day (as I have heard from many of the brides on here). I can only imagine how nerve wrecking it must be to be left in the dark before your wedding day. Hope we can all continue to help each other out and exchange information as our big day approaches!

Planning a DW is harder than I imagined! I simply cannot decide on a resort for the life of me! I've been on this site every day this week reading up all everyones reviews, but the more I read, the more confused I get. It seems like every day - i think i've narrowed it down - but I haven't! Today: I've narrowed it down to Royal Playa Del Carmen and Paradisus Riviera Cancun. I've read some great reviews on both of them on this board too! Would love any feedback you ladies have on the above resorts and other recommendations: Here's what's important to me in choosing a resort: 1) Must be in Riviera Maya area - Cancun seems too commercialized and Tulum is just way too far from the airport. Ideally near Playa Del Carmen so guests can leave resort for other activity if they'd like to. 2) Medium sized resort - I like the idea of a more private wedding at smaller resort but don't want my guests to feel like they're on top of each other every day.. 3) Nice ceremony/reception Areas - Most important above all other items! 4) Outside Vendors Allowed - I'd like to be able to bring in my preferred photographer. 5) Must be 4-5 Stars - If i'm going to do this - i'm going all out!

So i've only just started planning for my big day in Fall/2009! I really got my mind set on a Cabo wedding. Dreams Cabo is beautiful, but also pricey. Did anyone else do research on other hotels (preferrably all-inclusive as well) that came in as a closes second that may have been cheaper than Dreams? Right now - we can handle costs for at least for the wedding party - but I want to have a back-up in the case that we want to subsidize some of the costs for our guests. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Hello and congrats to all the brides and brides to be on the forum! My name is Donna - i recently got engaged about 3 weeks ago. I really haven't gotten very far in my planning process yet but I know that I really want to have a destination wedding in Mexico. Right now i'm looking into Dreams Cabo - all the reviews i've read have been very helpful!
