  1. 2-3 weeks? Thank goodness I'm not alone! We have some good friends who just got married. The guys are both in the Mason lodge together, and I know that the other couple has sex a couple times a week and that our guys talk about it. I've been very self-conscious about it, since 2-3 weeks is about average. You just made me heave a sigh of relief. I can put the vagina mothballs away.
  2. Oh girls, I'm so glad you're all here! I was a little nervous about posting something so intimate, but you all have made me feel so much better and normal! The cleaning service is definitely a good idea, I'll have to look into companies here in Indy.
  3. Here is my confession, hope it's not too personal: I feel like joining a convent. It seems like the FI is always in the mood, and I am not! I have so much stuff going on - my job has just become super-hectic with my program finally going live, I'm trying to plan a wedding and 2 AHRs, my mom (who was supposed to help plan all this) has stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to her breast and brain and I'm trying to spend all the time I can with her, trying to arrange a chapter meeting for my professional association, starting to strategize Christmas shopping, plus all the cooking and most of the housework. And he wonders why I'm not in the mood - where am I supposed to get the energy? Plus, he whines and guilt trips whenver I turn him down, which as we all know increases the desire for next time. (For example, he'll ask me to kiss his stomach. I do. Then he sighs really loud and says that he wishes all his dreams would come true. Meanwhile, I'm trying to squeeze in his stomach kisses between reviewing grant applications, loading the dishwasher, and designing the boarding pass invites.) I almost feel like this is pulling us apart. I've told him before that women are different from men. We need to be at ease mentally before we can really relax physically. I suggested that he help ease my burdens (help more with wedding planning and housework), but that lasted all of about a week. And every time I have to remind/ask him to do something, I mentally extend the sex ban because I'm pissed (which doesn't bode well). Should I not get upset when he grabs my boobs when walking in the door after work instead of asking about my day? I think I deserve a little more respect. And it makes me see red when he wakes me up in the middle of the night because he can't control his lust. I'm okay with weekend surprise wake-ups, but since I get up at dawn through the week, I'm not cool with weeknight surprise wake-ups. Does that matter to him? I've been taking Wellbutrin for the depression/anxiety, but feel like I should be taking a women-Viagra as well. I'm not a prude, but I'm marrying David Duchovney and it's not good! I feel better.
  4. Yay!!!! Not only am I proud to be an American, I'm proud to be a Hoosier! Although the CNN polls aren't showing it yet, the Indianapolis Star has reported that Obama won Indiana. Too cool!

  6. I too, am an Obama gal. My mother is a die-hard Republican, and I struggle to figure out why. She's currently going through chemo for stage 4 lung cancer - how could she support McCain's healthcare policy? Not only can she not afford her own insurance, she doesn't have the strength to research policies from around the country to determine why a policy in Arizona might be better for her than a policy in Delaware, let alone finding one that covers pre-existing conditions. I just don't get it.
  7. I voted, here in the great swing-state of Indiana! (I just hope things all turn out the way I want.) There was absolutely no line, we just walked up and filled out our scantrons. I was a little bummed because I didn't get any sticker or stamp or anything. However will I get my free Starbucks coffee?? I've also heard that Babeland is giving out free silver bullets to you gals in NY or Seattle....lucky girls!

  9. Me too! I have a couple of BM dresses that I bought from J Crew, then changed my mind. I want to sell them on here, but am clueless about PayPal!
  10. Yay for our rasta brides! Here's my info: Name: Rachel Miller & Benjamin Fuhr Wedding Location: Negril Escape Resort & Spa (Negril, JA) Wedding: April 18, 2009 in JA: 4/15/09 through 4/25/09
  11. These are the cutest kids ever! If you feel jaded from the grueling election season, check out this YouTube video of a bunch of 6th and 7th graders from the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta who did their own version of TI's "Whatever You Like." It represents both sides, and it's refreshing to see the next generation of young, enthusiastic, informed future voters. 12. Hi! I am interested in the beach safe containers. I'll send you a PM.

  14. I'm certainly interested. I think bobbi+mike charge $400 for the session, plus an extra $250 to get all the digitals on a CD, plus whatever it costs to rent the location (hotel, B&B, etc). Too steep for me regularly, but I think I can fit it in the budget if we can get the prices to come down a bit. Plus, Chi-town is only a couple of hours away!
  15. I also picked the bright pink and orange with a hint of yellow - in my case, called Raspberry, Tangerine, and Lemon. (Kinda makes me hungry) I picked these colors because I wanted them to pop against the blues of the ocean and greens of the foliage.
  16. Oh Heather, how very scary. Certainly I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Hopefully it's a minor issue. Keep us updated on his condition!
  17. Yari, your pictures are awesome! Makes me want my wedding day to be a little cloudy so I can get some really cool shots like yours!
  18. These are great! It looks like you had a great time - I especially love the end-of-the-night picture with you in the cowboy hat and him winking. Too funny!
  19. Here is my sister, hamming it up in the BM dress. The MOH and the 2 BMs will be wearing the same dress. The MOH will carry an orange boquet, and the BMs will carry pink ones. Do you think they're too short? The girls all have about the same body type.
  20. Heya ladies! I checked out the Rough Guide on Jamaica from the library over the weekend, and made an absolutely awful discovery when reading through it yesterday. Lobster closed season is April 1 - June 30 of each year. During this time, fishers aren't allowed to catch lobster and restaurants aren't allowed to serve fresh lobster, only frozen. One of the biggest appeals for Jamaica is the fresh and cheap lobster and shrimp - yum! I especially wanted to try the lobster thermadore that has garnered so many rave reviews. Have any of you girls traveled to Jamaica during the off season, and did you have any of the frozen lobsters? Any restaurant recommendations?
  21. We have the BM dresses! And it was definitely a struggle.... I got caught up in the whole J Crew last minute sale and ordered some dresses online. I found them and ordered them all in the same day (my BMs live in KY, IN, and IL) because the dresses were going fast and I wanted to be certain to get my order, especially since they were the perfect colors. Well, they weren't the right sizes for the girls, and they weren't refundable, so I got discouraged and stopped looking for a few weeks. I ended up finding these awesome dresses from Kohls, on sale for $35! I was a little concerned at first about the length of the dresses, but the girls are pretty cute and I'm sure they'll pull it off with no problems. Here are the dresses on my sister, the MOH. http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...ess1_small.jpg http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...ess4_small.jpg And the necklaces I picked up before I got the dresses. http://i404.photobucket.com/albums/p...aces_small.jpg We haven't decided on shoes, but I'm sure we can find some really cute brown sandals just about anywhere. All three girls will wear the same dress, but the MOH will have orange flowers and the orange necklace, and the BMs will have pink flowers and the pink necklace.
  22. Screw everyone else! It's your wedding and you'll go where you want to. My great-uncle scoffed at my decision for Jamaica. He said that I might as well be getting married at a dump on the south-side of Chicago. Apparently in his mind they are equal in safety. All this, despite the fact that he's never been to Jamaica and has no experience to speak of. Fine. Don't come. No skin off my nose. Also, my grandma said that she won't be able to travel that far. Well, she really never travels more than 5 miles from her house, which would really limit my choices were I to have it here in the states anyways. I'll make sure there are lots of pictures and video. Well, I think those of us who do go to Jamaica will have much more fun without the naysayers and whiners. The same for your wedding. If the people who bitched about it don't come, you'll probably end up having more fun. Plus, as a previous poster said, you're paying for it/planning it - you make the decisions.
  23. Wow. That's some craziness. He needs to chill out and not flatter himself into thinking you are going to make an ass of yourself to crash his wedding. And serious bummer about the attempted restraining order. I just dealt with a bogus R.O. myself - sent a chick a somewhat bitchy email and she had the papers served at work! Thankfully, the judge saw right through it and even recommended that she stick around to hear some real threats, but I was still out the laywer retaining fee and time off work. I wish there was a way we could get them to pay - I think Kat has the right idea with the child support!
