Welcome to the forum! Is there a reason why you have to send the STDs out now? Maybe you can spread the word verbally b/c I'm sure everyone is excited about you getting married! In my opinion, it's better to wait on the STDs until you have the date booked. March 2010 is pretty far away, so you'll have plenty of time to plan and guests to make arrangements when you find out next year. It seems many people send their STDs at most a year before the wedding. Then have everyone RSVP about 3 months before the wedding. By then, you'll know pretty much who's attending and your numbers will be more accurate. Check out a few threads dicussing whether or not to use a travel agent. Our agent has been very helpful in answering questions for our guests, and she sends us updates as to who as made a reservation. She also matches rates for the resort rooms. It's working out really well so far! Many of the girls here have used a BDW TA and have been very happy. Wedding planning is so much fun! If you're going the DIY route, maybe you can find STD or invitation templates and get started on designing those. Then, when you have the date, all you have to is fill that part in and you're ready to print and mail! Congrats and happy planning!

Rachel, that wrinkle is barely there! I think you can pull off Katie's bangs but maybe something to experiment with after the wedding? A new do before a wedding could be really great or add stress if you aren't thrilled w/ them? Maybe I would just hate to see your perfectly sideswept bangs go!

I wish I could provide guests $75 resort passes, but it would be just financially unfeasible with a hard budget (esp paying for a lot of it ourselves). When we were looking at resorts, I felt like we really took into consideration the costs for the guest (and everyone is in a different financial situation) to the best of our ability. Flying and staying in Mexico for guests is expensive, but hosting a wedding is very expensive too. Guest passes can easily be a budget blower. That said, we are spending the majority of our budget on providing great food which is something that *everyone* can enjoy, kwim? Personally, I would not expect the bride/groom to purchase day passes if I was staying at another place b/c it was less expensive/free. If they could afford it and offered, great. If not, I wouldn't feel right putting that financial burden on them.

Craziness! The thing is that you *know* they would be *so mad* if someone said/did the same thing to them if they were getting married! Where's the love? We all have been or will be a bride at some point... Wish you all the best and hope this drama will end soon!
