  1. Try a google search. I spoke with Lisa (I can't remember if her last name is Rodriguez or something else) and I found her by googling PR wedding planner. In the end, I didn't need her services (I'm trying to do things myself & save some moola) but she was always very prompt & helpful with her replies.
  2. This is the email that I received an answer from. [email protected] I don't know how many people you're having at your wedding but I stumbled across this restaurants' pictures the other day & it looks beautiful. It's right on the beach, as well. They don't have any wedding info on their website but it's worth a shot to contact them. ajilimojili restaurant It's right in the heart of the Condado area so it's very close to San Juan.
  3. Hi, I don't have much info since I've never been there but it looks like a great place for a wedding/reception. I did email Sergio Lopez when I was looking for a location & he was very helpful & courteous. Good luck!
  4. hcookma, Thanks for your review! I have a couple of people wanting to stay here & I'll pass the info along. I'm officially booked. Put a deposit down on the hotel, cake, flowers & signing a contract a photog today. Yikes!
  5. Sam, I've heard great reviews about Da House Hotel in San Juan & their rates seem very affordable for the area, around $80-100 a night. I can't speak from experience, but you might want to check them out. Your guests will be right smack in the middle of the tourist area, don't know if this is something they would enjoy.
  6. Where are the other PR Brides? Just got back from our trip to the island & I feel like I got a lot accomplished. I've picked out our cake. Picked out our flowers & a band, as well. And, although I met with many photographers I'm having a hard time choosing one. It's the one item we've decided to splurge a bit on & it's hard making up my mind. We also paid a visit to the Hotel & I LOVED it. I will post some pictures as soon as I've uploaded them.

  8. BTW, I love, LOVE your totem pic & your bouquet. Beautiful.
  9. Here are some of mine from our 2007 trip. El Morro Sentry Box from the wall surrounding San Juan Raíces Fountain Again This one is from the Condado area, very close to Old San Juan. Condado Walkway
  10. It's the totem! I have a couple of SJ pics I could add, let me look them up! Thanks for sharing!
  11. I'm so glad you posted because we were VERY close to booking The Gallery Inn. In the end, Jan gave me some song about creating wedding packages for parties that would not have many guests staying at the hotel & I never heard from her again. Shame. I think her hotel is beautiful. We'll be doing our shots before the wedding. LOL We're non-traditional so it's not a big deal to us & I want to be able to enjoy the FULL reception time with my guests. We'll be shooting at Paseo La Princesa, Puerta de San Juan, El Morro & La Rogativa & maybe some shots in front of the Cathedral. Any other suggestions? I would love to see your pics if you don't mind sharing.
  12. Haven't chosen a DJ. We will be in PR during Sept so I hope to resolve some of the loose strings I have. We decided on El Convento because of price. Out of all the hotels in the area, it made sense cost wise for us. It's a beautiful hotel & I'm sure we'll get lots of great shots there. James, thanks for the number. I'll call & check if I will need a permit for shooting outside. Still want to have pictures taken at a couple other places so we wouldn't actually go into El Morro. JamisonCollette, I love the picture of you & your husband walking down an Old San Juan street. Beautiful. Where were you married? Sam, if you would like an extra photo shoot, check with your photog. I'm sure they could take you around SJ for a day before session. It will cost you extra but would be completely worth it, IMO.
  13. Thanks for the info! Hopefully, the forts aren't too far either since I would like pictures in front of El Morro, at least. Laybar, thanks for the links! I just contacted on the of the photogs. Beautiful pics!
  14. Just thought I would make a thread for us since there doesn't seem to be too much info on here regarding PR. I will be married in PR at the Hotel El Convento in Old San Juan. San Juan Hotels, Puerto Rico Luxury Vacations & PR Room Reservations - Hotel El Convento I'll be posting what I like & which vendors I will be using in this thread. Afterwards, we will be sailing on our honeymoon aboard the Carnival Victory out of SJ. Any other PR Brides?
  15. The package we selected will allow us to have our photog for up to ten hours. I think that is fantastic since I want pictures of us in front of the sights before the wedding.
  16. Hi, Matt! I ordered my STDs from Magnet Street & loved them!!!
  17. So, while thinking what to post I realized I have soooo much to do! HA! 1-Thankfully, Save the Dates have already gone out. 2- After booking a cruise wedding, we're currently looking for a new location so we're starting all over there. 3- Received estimates from two locations, waiting on a third. 3- Can't finish wedding invites w/o knowing wedding location. 4- Haven't picked/booked photographer although there is one I LOVEEEE. 5- Can't buy a wedding dress as I'm currenly preggers & won't give birth until three months before wedding. 6- Have wedding favor picked out but not ordered. 7- No flowers/bouquet picked although I have an idea of what I want. 8- Cake not picked/ordered. Whoa, I have a lot to do.
  18. Hi, Samantha!!! I'm so happy to see another PR bride!!! Congratulations! El Conquistador is beautiful!!!! Their wedding gazebo is breathtaking! I did send out my save the date already but haven't even started on my invitations & I feel so behind! I haven't seen many PR brides so I'm very happy to find an active one! Look forward to chatting with you!
  19. Congratulations! After we decided to get married & picked a date, we found out I'm pregnant! It's definitely a lot of to swallow but I'm sure you'll be fine. My baby will be here 3 months before my wedding so I'm not even thinking about a wedding dress right now. I'm sure you'll find something great & look beautiful in it! Congrats, again!
  20. Thank you for the welcome!!! Tod, Vieques is not really in our scope. I'm originally from the island & the majority of my family will be attending. It's easier for me to have something centrally located for everyone. Also, we're leaving on our honeymoon cruise the day after we marry, it would be a tight squeeze to fit Vieques in there. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
  21. Hello!!! I joined the site because it was recommended by someone on another forum & have already found so much information! My name is Magda & I will be marrying Edgar next year in San Juan, PR. I've noticed there are SJ brides here & would love to hear about your weddings. I'm currently still looking for a venue for our wedding/reception. We were going to have a cruise wedding but the hour & a half reception didn't sit well with us, we want more time to have fun with everyone so after everything was booked & paid for, I'm searching again. Front Runners are now: The Gallery Inn Caribe Hilton If anyone know of any other place, I would love to know about it. Anyway, hope to gather lots of info here while having fun! -Magda
