  1. The Sallee's are amazing and are fantastic people as well. I just went to a lecture by them and wow is all I can say. It's too bad about Jesh, he is a phenomenal person and incredible at what he does.

(article that I shot for: GLOSS: The Fashion Magazine)
  3. I say keep the photographer as well. It may not be how you initially pictured it but you will have great photos now that have a double meaning.
  4. The judges definitely are weird this season. The drag challenge was amazing though!
  5. I will ask a bride I was with who we took because I do not recomend them! They were large vans and it was a crazy experience (no sealtbelts, having to push the van to start it up again etc). My travel agent was just telling me about a new company started by a friend of hers there. I'll get that info for you as well.
  6. I have tons of weddings at the Majestic next year and did one there earlier this year. It's a wonderful resort, very beautiful and the people are great to work with. The bride I was with said they were great to work with as well.
  7. I can say it all depends on the photographer and the market. Where I'm from most photographers give out the digital negatives, but I know in different areas the norm is to not give them. If photographers won't give them out with the initial price many offer them for an added fee. But of course there are going to be some people that won't budge and won't give them up no matter what. I feel like if its very important for you to have them, then you should be able to find a photographer that will give or sell them to you.
  8. I'll look in the restrictions the mexican government has on these sorts of things. If they are too much we'll just find another country. Heather, well, lets just say soon to be engaged. I'm planning on doing it in Europe in the New Year. She's done school in January so the trip is her grad present. I like getting started on these things early.
  9. I am now starting to plan my DW. Since I am a wedding photographer and am focusing on destination weddings in the future I don't want it to feel like I am working. I am not one for tradition anyway. I have actually been considering taking her name. So how about a good brainstorming session? How can I throw tradition out the window and do something interesting? I was thinking of a symbolic ceremony led by a friend in some Aztec or Mayan ruins. I was also considering in a crazy cave. We're going to have 20-27 people max.
  10. There is so much in Montreal that would be perfect for a mini-moon. Walking around the Old Port can really feel like Europe. And all the amazing restaurants usually have incredible lunch deals. Definitely Check out Verses Restaurant and Modavie - two fantastic places. The botanical gardens can be fun, and there is always the Biodome if you want to see some animals (the Penguins are so cute). There is the underground mall, I think its 10KM of stores. There are little gem boutiques all around for different things depending on what you're looking for. There is this place on Crescent St. where I get Prada shoes for $120, and Hugo Boss suits for under $200. There are a huge mix of hotels for every budget. Please PM or email me if you need some suggestions. Since most brides use hotels as getting ready locations for photos I have been to a lot of them. I'll end here, but since I'm from here I could go on and on. If you need any more info on Montreal please contact me, I'd love to help.
  11. it will come before you even know it.
  12. fantastic. It's so important to have a good connection with your photographer.
  13. Yep, she does. My eyes love them, but my wallet doesn't.
  14. I'll never understand people who will refuse an opportunity and a great excuse to go somewhere beautiful. Great job though, you handled it so well.
  15. http://s93382237.onlinehome.us/blog/.../08/web-mk.jpg Got a new light, decided to use my girlfriends shoes as a subject to test it out.
  16. Yep, I agree Nic! it must be so nice not having a down season. The weather here in Montreal scares away many brides from the winter months. It's one thing worrying about rain, its another worrying about no one showing up because its impossible to drive on the roads. So that's another reason why I will lower prices in the winter months, and why I'm giving away a free DW in February.
  17. Toronto can be a fun city. There are lots of concerts to see, great restaurants. But I would suggest as others are doing to look into coming to Montreal. For a romantic few days it would be much better then Toronto. In Montreal there is absolutely no need to rent a car. I just had friends here from Toronto and they walked everywhere and loved it. Plus the metro is easy to use if things are too far. Don't worry about the french thing either, everyone speaks english. The Old Port really does feel like Europe. Either way you'll have a great time.
  18. http://s93382237.onlinehome.us/blog/...ndreajim01.jpg What a great wedding!
  19. I was at one where when the MC was introducing the couple during their reception entrance he said the grooms brothers name in place of the grooms name.
  20. For anyone that can't get enough or PR, Australia is airing their first season of the show right now. It's pretty good, I'm not sure if they air it here, but its easy enough to find online. Did anyone see the Canadian version? The designers were AMAZING.

  22. Do you mean from the actual dvd itself? or say download a movie online? If you're a mac user and want to convert videos for your ipod the best program to use is: iSquint - iPod Video Made Easy.
  23. I would say unless they are kissing/holding hands in public then they should be fine. Definitely something to talk to them about before hand but unless they are broadcasting it I would think it would be hard for people to figure it out.
