  1. A friend of ours is a musician and we would like him to play at the wedding, I`m wondering if they Riu would charge us to bring our own musician, or to use their speaker and stuff. Has anyone done this....
  2. Thank you guys! What a relief I was really feeling guilty about not providing a oot bag, but with 100+ guest it was going to be waaay to heavy and expensive. I'll just be mailing a thank you letter and leaving a special gift in their rooms. BTW can you enter you guests rooms in advance to place these, or will you have to pay the hotel to do this for you
  3. Thanks everyone for the comments!! Does anyone else think the aqua and vests would be too feminine?? Davematthew- I'm from Canada so I don't know if you have the same store there it's called Le Chateau, they were really cheap all on sale, $50 for the pants and $40 for the vest!
  4. Here is all my wedding stuff 'so far' mostly just clothing picked out. I have talked to a vendor about my flowers but I'm not sure if she's over charging? My Dress!! BM's only we're doing 2 in Aqua and 2 in salmon Flower Girl Dresses (and my baby girl!) Suit from LeChateau (pants will match they're ordered). I think we're doing the GM in only the vest. Do you guys think those suits with aqua dress shirt would look okay That's what FI wants he doesn't like how plain the white shirt looks.
  5. Hi all you gorgeous brides! I am a Jan 2009 Bride as well we'll be married at ROR on Jan 19th! I really need some pushing on this planning stuff! I'm just not an organized person, you all seem to have it all together. I have my dress and BM dresses, should be here in Nov. Flower girl dresses which I adore, look at the decor chat on Aqua and Coral to see them (can't post pics at work!) FYI for Canadian Brides I found a really nice Linen Suit at Le Chateau and they're on sale 3 peice suit for about $180, great deal! Anyway that's it no planning underway yet! I'm such a bad bride!
  6. Yeah I think I'm sending mine in November maybe?? FI doesn't even have a passport yet! I'm such a procrastinator!
  7. I forgot, the flowergirl dresses actually have both colours together, so you can get an idea of what it'll look like a little better, here you go! (That's my sweet little girl BTW) Hope that helps!
  8. I picked those colors for my BM 2 will be in aqua and 2 in Salmon Here are my BM dresses and the actual colors we picked!
  9. Thanks those are awesome so funny! My FI wanted a hockey themed topper so I think I may actually order one of those!
  10. Thanks! That`s exactly what I needed to know, perfect! I don`t know what I would do without this forum.
  11. I was wondering if any past brides have brought babies with them. Does the ROR have cribs available or do you have to bring a playpen or something for them to sleep in?
  12. You could do the poolside reception, I think that would be really beautiful as well. I think it's the same price as the seagrape too!
  13. One is in New York and the other in Alberta Canada. I can't see them working together.
  14. Sooo funny, the lady here in Canada used identical pictures and said they were her work. I mean exactly the same, all the bouquets. Which one actually did those flowers, or are those just standard pics everyone uses
  15. No, they are artificial flowers from a place in canada I will have to take them down with me
  16. It's called bitter sweet wedding design it's near my town (six hours away!) and I think they'll be orchids, roses, and some tropical flowers.
  17. It depend when you plan on having the wedding. I booked mine in March, for January only had one day open, at one time. I would call and make sure the time you want is available. If it's far away, I think you can reserve the date with some deposits, and then wait for the price to go down to book the rest of the room?
  18. Did that cost you any extra?? Did you have the whole reception there??
  19. Congrats! Sounds like you had a great time, it's so awesome that you kept a positive attitude even throughout the rain. I can't wait to see your pictures!!
  20. We just don't want to pay that much, she said it would be $55 per person for the beach that's just waaay to much to pay for 100 ppl. We wanted to get the free dinner at the plantation, then have the beach reception afterwards. If you wedding includes dinner for your guests then it should be included, right??
  21. I'm getting married January 19th, and curious if anyone on here had a large wedding?? We're bringing about 100 people, and Chandlyn said a restaurant couldn't accomodate that many people. If thats the case, then what have other brides done on here?? Thanks! Kristin
  22. That sucks that they ended up in your pics! Are the decorations in your picture the free, or did you have to pay for that?
  23. Hey everyone, what a blessing this site is, I'm sooooo happy I found it! I got engaged November 2006, so I was planning a Jan 2008 wedding, but found out I was pregnant only a month later (too much engagment celebrating, I guess, haha!) Anyway, I am finally getting married at the Riu Ochos Rio, January 19, 2009. I am very excited, and would love to talk to anyone who is getting married there as well. I love the advice I've read so far! Can't wait to get to know you all! Kristin
