We threw ourselves an engagement party but we made sure to put no gifts please on the invitation. We had it in a private room on the top floor of a bar. We paid the bar to do appetizers and we brought in a cake. We also gave away custom koozies. We decided to do a cash bar and everything worked out perfect. People had the best time. My friend took care of the RSVP's and I don't think anyone knew that we threw it for ourselves, haha. We just wanted to get everyone together and party-we didn't want any presents. =) Good luck with your party!

I am so glad to see this thread. I thought I was the only one. My "friends" have been hurting my feelings so bad lately. I have been friends with these girls since 3rd grade and we grew up together-college-sorority, etc. They are bailing on me left and right. I did not make them a part of my wedding party in case something happened-my sis will be my MOH and that is it. I have one friend that is choosing to go to her no good boyfriend's friend's wedding in Cabo for a week instead of my wedding-she knew about my wedding before this Cabo wedding. She hardly even knows his friend and now she said she won't have enough money for my wedding too. Also, I have another friend that accidentally said to me that my other friends are turning my bridal shower into a big deal---ummmm it IS a big deal-I am getting married!!!! I am so sick of all of it!

We did not register for fine china. We just wouldn't use it enough. We did register for beautiful dinnerware though.

I am so glad you posted this because my baker for my AHR cake here said the exact same things you are saying above. Even though I like the look of the fresh flowers, I do not want to risk getting sick, bugs on the cake from the flowers, etc. so I am letting the RIU know NOT to put any flowers on my cake in Mexico =) Thanks!

Don't worry at all! =) Most of the sample dresses I saw were 10-12's too. Plus Maggie Dresses come in all different sizes. Good luck finding the perfect dress

lrfriendly-I ordered my Maggie dress mid-February and they said that it should be here mid-May, so it will take 3 months for me to get it in. I asked if I could pay extra to get it sooner, but she told me that Maggie only sends it about a week sooner so it is not worth spending the extra $$$ on rush shipping. =) Hope that helped you! Don't worry about it not fitting!

Haha! That is too funny! I should have written Bump-its in the title instead of Bumpits! hahahaha I will take pics tomorrow b/c we are going to my parents house for dinner tonight so I will be busy all night. FI said he likes them. The small ones are pretty useless though!

Yeah, I agree....There is TONS of crime in the U.S.-not to mention gangs, etc. and people should realize that there is violence everywhere--I am frustrated. If some of my guests use this as an excuse I really don't care b/c it will be more fun without them. I don't want worry warts dictating what we should do in Mexico!!! I am planning on going to town in Playa and going to Cozumel. =)

I will try to take some today to put on here. =) Dayla-I think the Hollywood looks cute-you know what they say about big hair in Texas...the bigger the hair the better, haha What happened to the AtM students? I haven't even heard about it! How sad!

Okay girls!!! I got the bumpits in yesterday and I love them! I was skeptical at first, but it really works. You have to part your hair at the crown (make sure it is not too far back or it looks funny) you just put the bumpit in and move it a little bit to set the teeth in (if you need bobby pins you can do that) but the teeth seem to hold it in for me It says to spray the hair really well and place over the bumpit (make sure hair is spread all around and you put enough to cover the bumpit (you can hardly see the bumpit in my hair b/c I got the brunette bumpit-they have all different colors) It came in a cute box with 2 large bumpits, 2 small (for the front of hair), and 1 Hollywood bumpit (for going out)-so cute~ I will try it in my sister's fine hair today if I see her! I will let y'all know how it works in her hair....

Gosh!!! That is so cold~! It is 70 degrees here in Texas today!

I am sure it is a side effect. That happened to me when I switched from Ortho tri-cyclen to the Yaz pill. I was all screwed up. I went and got a pregnancy test from the drug store in a bad area of town where no one would notice me, haha! It of course came out negative. Hang in there, and I would get a test ASAP that way you can breathe a sigh of relief if it is negative! =)
