We just got back from our wedding and cruise on Thursday. I will talk to her and let you know what happened. Thanks again, you are my support system!

First, let me give you a little background. My younger sister's FI is such a selfish and controlling person but she doesn't realize it. On my wedding day, my niece missed her flight from Dayton to Ft. Lauderdale and was scheduled to catch the next one that would get her in at 6:30 pm. Well, the wedding started at 4:30 pm and my sister and FI were there. He was video taping the ceremony (how nice of him since he thinks I don't like him and he hates my DH). Everything was going great and they came to the restaurant and enjoyed cocktail hour with us. Well, around 6:00 they left to pick up my niece from the airport. I didn't notice until dinner was over, that they never returned. When I asked my sister what happened she said there was an accident on I95 and traffic was backed up so they just went to get something to eat because her daughter was hungry. Well, that was fine except she called my older sister, who was at the restaurant, and my older sister told her that they would hold dinner for them until they returned. The following day, I asked my niece to tell me the real story and as it turned out, my sister's ignorant FI wanted to go to Miami so that's where they went instead of coming back to the restaurant. He was telling her "well you are going to be spending the next five days with them anyway on the cruise". He gave her some kind of sob story about him feeling uncomfortable because her family doesn't like him. WTF, well I am the only one that probably shows him that I don't like him. We have had some words before, but this wedding was not about him he was just invited by proxy. I can't believe that my sister allowed that to happen. Why did she go along with what he wanted? I'm just not sure what to do. My niece gave me this information in confidence, so I can't let her know that I know the truth, but I am so hurt by what happened. I would like to discuss it with her but I don't know how. He has been a thorn between us for two years now and I am so glad he didn't come on the cruise with us. I would have pushed him overboard. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, we're back! The wedding was wonderful. Everything went great except I forgot to put on my garter and I had to use a napkin as my garter. It was pretty funny. My niece missed her flight out of Dayton and didn't get to Ft. Lauderdale until 6:30 pm. She totally missed the wedding. I also forgot to put out my wedding favors! I left them in the refridgerator at the resort. We arrived in Pompano Beach about 1:00 pm on Thursday and I ran around like nut trying to get everything ready. Thursday night we had a bachelor/bachelorette party in my MOH's room. The weather was wonderful and we had a great time on the cruise. We rented scooters in Cozumel and we rode by all of the resorts that others on the forum talk about. It was so hot! We wanted to go to the Myan Ruins, but the mosquitos ate us alive. We didn't even go in! I don't have any pro pics yet and I am still waiting on people to upload their photos, but here are a few.

Erin, I live in Ohio and we were hit pretty hard also. My electric was only out for 24 hours but there are people that still have no electricity. I was in a panic on Monday because I only had a couple of days before we left for our wedding and I had so much to do. I couldn't do sh*t without electricity. But it's all good and we leave in 1 hour! I'm glad you are alright, but don't stress yourself out.

Well ladies, it's my turn. I'm off to Pompano Beach in the morning. I just want to thank all of you for your creativity and support. I was slowly losing my mind on planning this wedding until I found this site and all of you to help me out. I have added a couple more pictures to my planning journal. I am not taking my laptop so I won't be able to post any photos until I get back on the 25th. I just want to thank everyone again.

I used websites to order my paper. Archivers has a lot of paper choices. I started on my oot bags pretty early. It's easy to buy stuff when you find it on sale. I don't know if you have a Hobby Lobby in your area, but they have a lot of stuff you my need. I started my invites in February and they were finished by May. If there are things you can complete that don't require a final head count, then I would do those first.
