  1. Here are some questions I asked her recently that you may be interested in...I'll also post them in the main Riu Santa Fe thread: Hi Erika, Just a few more questions that popped into my brain 1) When do you need to have the final number of guests? Like one week before you arrive to Cabo 2) Is the ceremony in Spanish or English? I have heard that it may be in Spanish and I was wondering who translates it into English? if you are having a legal ceremony this one is at Spanish and I make the transduction to English if you have a simbolic ceremony that one is on English 3) We arrive on September 21 and the wedding is on the 25th, on what day do you think will we be meeting with you to discuss details? We are trying to arrange a couple off-resort excursions (horseback riding, zip lining) and we would like to book them soon but we do not want it to interfere withour meeting with you Thi9s can vbe the next they of your arrival at 9:00 am 4) Did the photographer respond if 7:30pm-8:30pm will be ok for our hour of photography? I am still waitting for the response 5) Can wedding rehearsals be arranged the night before? How long does it take and what happens? this rehersal at the beach took around 10 minutes and I explain were is the ceremony how to acomodate and if it is for dinner this can be at the Baja California restaurant and you can check with your guest what you need. For a rehersal in a speciality restaurant this one can only be up to 10 people and the services at the restaurantas is around 2 hours. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to our questions. We are under 6 months away and getting very excited!! Sincerely, Lisa Garner
  2. Abby, Erika told me that the legal ceremony must be performed in Spanish by the minister and that she will be the translator. That being said, if you are planning on having a sand ceremony, that can be done in English. I'm not sure about the rings part though but it sounds like a great place to exchange your own vows if that's what you want to do! (we're not because I'm too shy!)
  3. ooooooo!!!! ME!!!!! Thanks so much to the ladies who pointed me in this direction! I had no idea you guys had this goin on, what fun!!! I will paypal you shortly!
  4. We don't have either of those, I guess the equivalent would be Home Sense...only I'm afraid it will go under like Linens N Things did!!
  5. Not at all!!! Is there an alternative to registering at a department store? At first I was all excited and went to sears on the weekend with my FI only to find out that anything we need is like $75 or more!!! I'm sorry, but for shower gifts I find that to be too much and don't want to ask that of anyone. Two showers are being thrown for me, one for my Moms side of the family and the other from my FI's side of the family. Ugh. I like the idea of registering for "honeymoon" things like in the sticky but I'm from Canada and I can't find something similar for Canadians. PLUS, we're not having a honeymoon, our wedding week is the only vacation we are getting. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
  6. Yes, I've already ordered the dress...when I did, I told her that I was planning on losing about that much and she said that it would be no problem to have it altered and that she didn't feel comfortable ordering it in a smaller size. I guess she's the pro and would know but I wanted to see if anyone else had that same experience and it turned out great? Here's my dress when it came in: Disclaimer: gloves are to keep the dress clean ONLY lol...I'm not wearing gloves! And Thanks Leanne, I'll go check it out!!!
  7. Thank you!! I guess we'll just be specific with our wording and speak personally with those whose kids we want to attend. Culturally, for FI's cousins kids to come it is a MUST so they are coming along with my daughter (of course) and her little friend for company. We also included on the RSVP card: "Children are welcome to attend the celebration in Mexico" Implying that you can bring them there but not to the reception. Hopefully they get it! Our guest list is already over the hall capacity so it is not even possible to bring them all. People will just have to suck it up! lol. Mean but a must. Oh well!
  8. I love both of your dresses!! Your TTD session is going to be so fun!!!
  9. ...my dress can still be altered fine, right? I mean like it can be taken in that much? Does anyone have any experience?
  10. Thanks ladies! It made us laugh too! (only we had to do it secretly because she's sensitive to people laughing! lol) It's soooooo poofy and I wasn't expecting it but I don't want to risk cutting any of it away. Anyways, it's really grown on me and now I can't imagine anything else! She will change into something a little less HUGE after the ceremony for the reception. And yes, she'll be carrying something, we just haven't decided what...maybe a small bouquet? or a basket with petals?
  11. Actually, we ended up changing our colours to incorporate this dress! When we saw it on Etsy, we knew she'd love it so we ordered it anyways. Our bridesmaid dresses are light blue and we are incorporating the hot pink parasols and my bouquet will be hot pink to tie everything in We really wanted her to stand out since it's her day too! Here is a pic of my sis in her BM dress witht he parasol:
  12. I didn't know it was going to be so poofy and I'll admit that it took me a few minutes to get used to it but when I pictured her walking down the beach in it I realized how perfect it will be!
  13. OMG CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK!!!! Everything looks perfect and makes me think that I need to kick it up a notch!!!! Beautiful!
  14. I am getting married at the Riu Santa Fe and their new policy states that there are to be no outside photographers I would highly recommended Alberto Misrachi though! His work is beautiful, he is easy to commincate with and his prices are VERY reasonable. I hope you are allowed to bring your photographer on site!!!
  15. Ugh, that's frustrating!!! I hope it all works out Let us know what you find out!
  16. eek! I'm glad my bouquet and my groom's boutineire comes with our package! My BM's are doing parasols as well.
  17. We also got this dress for my daughter for the AHR: Except the trim and bow is in the colour "Blue Jay" (same as my BM's dresses) by alfred angelo.
