This is where we are having our wedding as well, in May. The reviews on tripadvisor were very helpful, as there was not much in the forums on this particular resort. I have also had good turn-around time with emails to Ivanova.

Good luck in choosing! For me, the most agonizing experience in all of the planning so far has been choosing the resort. However, once that was done, everything got more exciting and fun! We decided to go with Iberostar Bavaro.

We are also staying ten days. Most of the family are staying five or six days, so we will definitely have some alone time, before and after the wedding!

I'm so glad there is a place for May brides - I like seeing where I am at in the planning compared to everyone else. =) So far I am still behind, due to family drama about the wedding, but everything is back on track!

I am a May 28, 2010 bride! We are getting married at the Iberostar Bavaro in Punta Cana, DR. I am feeling behind after reading this thread, but it certainly has given me motivation. =)

Irishamber, have you had any issues with guests staying at the other Iberostar resorts? I have some that would like to stay at Iberostar Punta Cana, but I was not sure if they would have to pay a fee (or anything similar) to be able to be at Iberostar Bavaro for the wedding, or even just to come hang out for a few hours. I was about to email the resort, but I figured I would check here first! Thanks.

I am finally working on setting a date - we are looking at the end of May 2010! However, I need to pick a resort first and hope they are available. Does anyone have any feedback regarding Iberostar Bavaro or Riu Palace? I've been looking at the computer so much researching that my eyes hurt! I'd love to hear any personal experiences you all have had regarding either of the two resorts. Thank you!

I saw this on IMAX as well. It was amazing, and honestly I can't wait to see it again to pick up on things I missed while mesmerized during the first viewing.

Usually my google-fu is great, but I'm having some difficulty with the search engine on the forum. I am looking for a realistic budget for an all-inclusive wedding in Punta Cana, DR. =) I can see how much the resorts charge, but I know that is just the beginning - what kind of budget are you lovely brides working with? I'm thinking 7 days, flight, reception, OOT bags, everything! I'm guessing there will be about 20 guests, but I would like to see what a good budget is before any helping to pay for guests. Thanks for your input!

When I was a teen I had SERIOUSLY bad cramps. My mom recommended that I go to the chiropractor, and that was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Helped out a ton, with cramps, headaches, and body aches. Now my BC helps with reduction of PMS issues!

Hello everyone! My name is Lisa, and I just got engaged a few weeks ago. =) Due to school and internship, we'll most likely be waiting until Fall 2010 to get married, but I figure that just gives me more time to plan! I'm looking at the Dominican Republic right now, and more specifically Punta Cana. I also wouldn't mind US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico due to most people in the family not having passports! However, after searching the web I think that Punta Cana is where I want to start my new life.
