Okay ladies, I'm driving myself NUTS over this, and I need to see if I've actually lost my marbles here... So, long story short, my original e-ring is pink topaz, it faded (due to store cleanings), got replaced by the store, but was told it will fade again naturally. (Some of you may remember this drama lol) ANYWAY, I know that I have to find a "replacement" e-ring, so I've been looking around for about 6 months or so. I like pink, hence the pink topaz in my current ring, but I keep hearing how even pink sapphire MIGHT fade if it's had a certain treatment done on it or this or that, and how ultrasonic cleaners will suck out all the colour (not sure how vibrations do that if I'm cleaning it in just water, but w/e) But my big problem was, I'm not a fan of diamond rings (I'm weird, it's okay, you can say it) To me, they're just not "original". That was until I found the ring of my DREAMS!!! I can't find any pictures of it, but it's got a bunch of smaller diamonds clustered together so they look like one big center stone (but WAY more sparkle, it's gorgeous!) and there are baguettes along the center of the band and then pave on the outside of the baguettes. This ring is just gorgeous, and looks MUCH different than anything I've ever seen (I can't even describe it properly, because I've never seen anything else like it in my life). So I absolutely fell in love with this ring, and I just can't take my mind off of it. It is about $1000 more than we wanted to pay for a new ring (considering this is ring #2, and we still have to buy a wedding band) but I just can't stop thinking about it!!! Is there such a thing as THE ring?

My Laptop Keeps Shutting Off!!!!
FutureMrsLewis replied to jk1101's topic in Just venting or funnies
It may be a simple fan replacement, it may even help to buy a laptop cooling pad if your fan is actually working (although it sounds like it's not working properly). I would take it to the shop and see if they can check it out for you, shouldn't be too expensive, maybe $100 including labour? And while they've got it open, get them to clean it with some compressed air. Works wonders Good luck! -
I highly doubt that Apple will be integrating a physical keyboard into their iPhone anytime soon. One of the "praises" of the iPhone is that it has minimal moving parts, so a physical keyboard, sliding or otherwise, seems unlikely. Sliding keyboards have been seen as "faulty" and easy to break by some, so that's a definite no, and also if they just added the keyboard to the front of the phone, it takes away from the screen size, so again, a no. BUT! There are talks of a bluetooth keyboard that will integrate with the iPhone as a wireless attachment for those who need a "real" keyboard. My .02 cents after selling electronics and working next to an "Apple head" every day lol

Victoria Staford information! (Ontario & Canada)
FutureMrsLewis replied to Candice's topic in Random Thoughts
It's absolutely disgusting that someone can do this to a child, I cry when I hear about animal abuse on the news, let alone this. I hope that these two are haunted by the visions of what they've done to this girl for the rest of their pitiful lives. My heart goes out to the Stafford family -

It remains a gift as long as I stay with FI (not that I had any plans to leave, because I didn't) but if something happens and I leave him, then I have to pay them back... They're definitely strange cookies lol Oh, and I should add this little guy: lol -

I was so flabbergasted I didn't know what else to do. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, so I just kinda did this and signed it. I thought it was a gift, my parents would have paid for me to travel on the bus or paid for a rental car, but FIL's didn't want me driving by myself nor did they want me spending 15 hours on a bus, so they said "That's okay, we'll do it!" The contract is still in my briefcase, honest to God. -

I had that first website already, but that second one is absolutely FABULOUS! Thank you!! And I love the idea of getting your pic taken in the same spot every year, it will be fun to see how you change and how WDW changes right along with you -

I wouldn't write a contract for my bridesmaids, but that's just me. As my mother always said, "to each their own." If your bridesmaids wouldn't be offended by this and this may be the only way to get them really serious about their commitment to your wedding, then by all means go for it. FMIL made me sign a contract that if I leave FI then I owe her $2500. (They volunteered to take me across the province to my sister's wedding, then when we got back made me sign a contract stating that if me and FI part ways, I owe them the expenses. We won't get into that.) And surprisingly, I still talk to her. So contracts, although mind-blowing at the time they're delivered, don't necessarily break the relationship. -

Haha! Well I can't change my marital status until after I graduate, and as you can tell by my sig, that's a while away. So it'll be 2011 at the earliest, possibly 2012. I can't wait to start planning either, I already have a Disney resort in mind, along with a dress, and the rings, and my shoes, and the flowers I want, and... It's so damn far away! lol -

Well now I feel stupid... I actually started a "Wish Book" on disneyweddings.go.com and it tells me exactly how much everything will cost, I can add on or subtract whatever I want. Now I feel stupid lol SO, in case any other brides are wondering about pricing, just start a Wish Book lol D'oh! But on a SMARTER note: New siggy -

I lost my car right before I graduated from college (I got side-swiped by a semi truck on the highway and skid upside down 50 feet into oncoming traffic. Miraculously I was fine, but my car was totaled beyond recognition.), and my Fortune 500 company gave me a "signing/moving" bonus for coming out to Connecticut and a salary that could easily afford a car under $20k and could probably afford a car up to $30k if I really wanted to allocate that much money towards a car (which I didn't). I really wanted a Mercury Cougar, but they quit making them in 2002, so I couldn't get a new one. I was also considering a Hyundai Tiburon --cute, but not too pricey (at the time, a fully loaded one was about $20k). The guy at the dealership was nice, and he set me up for a test drive. When I returned, he was busy helping someone else, but he asked another associate to follow up with me. This chick gave me the biggest "Oh honey, don't you want to look for a car that's more in your price range" attitude. I was so pissed off that even though I liked the car, I didn't buy it there. When the nice sales guy called me up to see if I was coming back, I explained to him what happened and told him that there is NO WAY I would purchase a vehicle from them after that. I ended up finding a Cougar with less than 10k miles on it, which is what I really wanted anyway. Moral of the story: Just because we're young, doesn't mean we don't have money. If it's out of our price range, WE will tell YOU, so don't tell us what we can't afford. It's stories like this that make me sick. It's absolutely disgusting how young people get treated. They either try to upsell and take us for every cent we have, or they think we're poor and sell us the cheapest piece of crap available. I could rant for DAYS about this lol Good for you standing up for yourself, and I bet they don't judge young people anymore. -

The entire show was hosted by the incredible wedding-planner David Tutera (I'm guessing because he just teamed up with Disney for a Signature line of weddings) and they showed a variety of sizes and styles of ceremonies, so I'm sure there is something EXACTLY like what you have in mind! (I know David Tutera weddings start at $50K, so they might be waaaay over your price range, but his weddings are just a small sampling of the range of wedding events they can make possible). And if not, it's DISNEY! They are in the business of making dreams come true... Good luck and let us know what you decide! We don't get WE, but now I kinda wish we did lol I would have loved to have seen that. 50K is a little over what I'm willing to spend, but 20K is definitely do-able. Thanks ladies I'm still patiently waiting for my Disney info... I did get a Disney vacation brochure from a TA, but they had nothing on Disney weddings. They're very discouraging, so that makes me want one even more lmao FI and I are not really into laying on a beach and drinking our faces off and tanning all day. Some people love that, and that's great, but we're not the types to just lay around and do nothing, so I think Disney would be perfect. We can go on rides and stuff, plus there are shopping malls in Florida when we get sick of WDW lol And we can still lay around and do nothing when we feel like it. It's like the best of all worlds -

Now I'm getting even more excited lol Since we're travelling quite a distance and we both have small families, there's probably only going to be 10 or 15 of us in total, so we don't need a big, huge, elaborate venue. I just don't really want to be on an island resort because I want to be able to still visit malls and have fun, laying on a beach all day isn't really my idea of fun. Plus FI has rosacea, so he can't stay in the sun for very long. So a Disney wedding sounds PERFECT! I just don't want to break the bank lol -

lol Those were the first two sites I bookmarked! Great minds think alike FI doesn't care where we go, as long as I give him a date, time, and location, he'll show up lol He tells me that I'm the one with the theme song (Here comes the Bride) so it's all about me anyway lol -
The only other marquise diamond ring is this one: Endless Love Rings | Marquise Diamond Ring | Platinum Band | Ritani.com but it's micropavé, not baguettes
-
I can't find the other one based on your description, but if that is indeed one of them, then it's gorgeous Then again, every ring on that site is gorgeous lol Congratulations on getting closer and closer to that ring
-
Glad I could help! I'm still looking to see if I can find the other one you're talking about, these are some gorgeous rings lady, it's a hard choice! I'm bored in case you couldn't tell lol So helping out makes me feel productive

Is that one of them? It has pear shaped diamonds, not hearts though
