I would take Nadine's advice. She basically buys dresses online as a hobby. Seriously.
  2. I have planned my wedding in Cabo without doing a site visit, mostly based on the reviews, advice and recommendations of brides on this forum. I do not think it is necessary to do one at all! Did you have a specific resort you were considering?
  3. my best friend who is also engaged told me that it is taboo. but i had never heard of this until about 3 months ago.
  4. Even better if they don't stamp. I thought it was one of those things where sometimes they do sometimes they don't. Like the US. I only randomly have my passport stamped when I enter the United States. It is like 1 in 5 times.
  5. Ouch that does not sound fun! Definitely let them know and take photos of what it looks like just in case!!
  6. Should be no problem. Cuba will let Americans in, the issue is if you return back to the US with a Cuban stamp on your passport that the US might get antsy. If he travels with his Canadian passport there are no issues.
  7. That is the coolest thing ever!!!! Wow Autumn so awesome!!!!
  8. Also Nixon is the cutest dog in the whole wide world.
  9. H-bomb everything looks glam. I really love it. You will have the most awesome wedding ever and your guests are going to freak out when they see all the cool stuff you have designed/put together. Woot
  10. My understanding is that the nice hotel chains have the 3-prong. Anything that is new or renovated will have the 3. If it's still a concern you can buy an adapter for a few dollars, I think I've seen them for $2, where you can convert the 2 prong into 3.
  11. This is all so irritating. I am about to send out my STD's and on the website we put that as soon as you know that you plan to attend to notify us through the website. We are going to send formal invites as well (I think). And I guess get a formal RSVP? I dunno it's all so confusing. But when I make a cutoff for who is attending the wedding, I am going to adhere to it. If you haven't confirmed you are coming there won't be a seat for you at the wedding. Mostly because I'm a bitch but also, if you can't effing send an RSVP back or click a button on a website then you don't get to attend. We are inviting way too many people and are hoping a lot won't make it. If they are booked anyway that's their thing they can have a great vacay and just not be in attendance and won't be on the seating chart. I was thinking of making the final RSVP cutoff like 2 months before though because it seems that's when I need to start confirming numbers for vendors.
  12. Who on earth calls their restaurant the poop deck? Seriously? I am sorry I couldn't stop laughing reading this thread. But the photos look beautiful!!!
  13. But now that I think about it for formal invites I may run them through a printer. Save the dates are a little less formal.
  14. I just addressed 60 save the date envelopes myself. Fun stuff. I just got a really nice black pen/marker thing and went to town. I have neat writing and I did a practice one first and figured out how to line stuff up so it's symmetrical. I think they look pretty good, but for some reason I am not too concerned with this stuff. Most people just throw the envelope out anyway.
  15. I am one of the odd ones I guess. I actually bought mine a year ago and our wedding is a year from now! I saw it online actually and knew it was the one and went and tried on about 5 and ended up with the original one that I had chosen. And I've never looked back. I'm so excited to wear it I think about it all the time I'm obsessed! I have seen dresses that are nice since, but nothing compares to my obsession with the dress I got!
  16. I love the first one a lot I think it looks fantastic! In the end only you will know though! Goodluck
  17. From what I gather there was no damage or injuries. It's not even on CNN...I guess unless it triggers a Tsunami warning noone cares now?
  18. Wow. I've never seen that before. And although it seems that most couples prefer monetary gifts I honestly think it's rude to put that on an invitation.

  20. Wow!! Congrats and that's awesome that things went so well. Your teaser pics are incredible! Can't wait to see more. And I just might have to still that photo as my hair inspiration!
  21. Jwilke where in California are you planning to get married? I strongly considered California and am still feeling guilty like I should've stuck with it!!!
  22. OMG it had your address and phone number WOW I just googled myself and it had some running races I did this summer like my times for them. Not the end of the world, but then something about my grandma dying in May because it lists all the grandchildren. How on earth do speeding tickets show up?
  23. Or if you are more flexible I'm sure they have another date available in the week. It will all work out
  24. I was told 10/10/10 would book up SUPER fast so we booked Dreams Cabo back in Feb. If you are set on the mayan riviera, I would just email all the resorts and see which have the availability! And then decide out of the ones available if they meet your needs. Goodluck!!!
