Only married 7 weeks and heading for divorce :(
*Lo* replied to Sparkles8300's topic in Just venting or funnies
Leslie, I am so sorry. I have been through something similar. It seems though that the most crucial thing here is that he isn't willing to do what you need to get past this. Why isn't he willing? Clearly he messed up, and everyone makes mistakes. But I feel that marriages can survive if people are willing to do what it takes to move forward. So he has to be willing and so do you. My advice is to wait a bit and let the dust settle before saying it's 100% over. Not saying you should stay with him or not, but just that it's hard to make these kind of massive decisions when you emotions are so high. Take some time and figure out if you're willing to move past this. Figure out what you really want first and what you feel you are capable of. It might take some time to sort through that. Perhaps in the end he will be willing to do what it takes, but you have to want to as well. Whatever decision you make will be the right one. PM me if you want to chat some more...seriously I've been there and can relate to what you're going through. -
I mentioned this thread to my mom and now she is convinced we should upgrade the wines. Probably mostly for her benefit, but most of our family will drink wine so she feels its important. Also she told me she'd pay for it! Before I contact Mariana just wondering if anyone has any info on the prices and what the choices are?

I have a somewhat similar situation. What is your hair like when you are at home and not in a tropical destination? Do you straighten it? My hair sounds similar to yours except it's not super fine. So I just flat iron the crap out of it when I'm on vacations where it's humid and I use a straightening balm with silicone in it. The silicone seems to smooth the hair out and prevents the frizz. I'm thinking though that if you are getting your hair done for the wedding that they have solutions and ways to work around this. A hair trial might be a good idea to see how it holds up!

I'm in tears!!!! I can't believe someone would be so mean!!!!

Wow that is pretty rude!! Do you think it maybe could've been meant as a joke? I just can't see how someone would write that and be serious...because that's seriously ridiculous. -
I think all of those hotels are awesome and any would be great. What is most important to you for the hotel to have? I know that Dreams has a really good wedding program and that's one of the reasons I chose it. They are really experienced and know what they are doing and have done many weddings so I didn't feel that everything would get messed up! I also have heard the resort is really beautiful from other brides on here. Have you looked at the ceremony and reception sites of each? I think that is where I'd probably start and if one jumps out at you in terms of where you can see yourself having the wedding that might lead you to decide!

Haven't started invites yet, just sent STDs. But starting to think about invites! From my convos with other brides on here, it's rare that people even RSVP apparently! And if they do the deadline date doesn't seem to mean anything. So that is what I'm most worried about. I think I plan to send invites in early April with a July 31 RSVP deadline. That still gives over two months of lead time with numbers. But I hear people will still book and confirm even two weeks before. I'm not even sure how to avoid that. I addressed all the STD's myself and wanted to die. So I think I will look into other options for that.

I found mine through a shortlist that someone posted on this site of photographers they had checked out and ended up getting the one that they were going with! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...photogs-27221/ Is the link. It's not an extensive list I just didn't know where to start and loved having a list to check out first! You can also read some photographer reviews posted on the forum which I found really helpful as well.

the first 2 classes my bum hurt for days, not like a workout pain, but like it was bruised or something. Since then it's been gradually getting better each class. I think your bum just gets used to it or something! There are padded shorts you can get. I haven't gotten that crazy yet but my FI definitely wears them to teach. But he's also a boy...so to ensure we can have children one day I bought him the special shorts haha

My FI always says to me, (when I have big decisions to make) "Whatever decision you make will be the right one" And honestly it is really helpful to think that way. It sounds to me, like you made the right choice for you. And that is what you can take out of this. From what you described you're not interested in staying long term so instead of being stressed to the max and working really long hours, you can focus that time instead on pursuing other avenues and figuring out what you want to do and getting your resume out there etc. There's a reason you were compelled to turn it down so you should be happy and satisfied that you made the right choice!

I would hope so!!!

60 min spin class today taught by my FI. He is a crazy instructor and makes me want to kill him but pretty sure I dropped 12 pounds in that hour (total exaggeration)

Wow you have some amazing little details that really set you apart! Everything looks wonderful. Congrats!!

Nicole Miller dress FU0003 ???
*Lo* replied to Lorimc52's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think that there are a few different dresses shown in those photos. My best friend bought the one that does not have the bows at the back but the front looks the exact same. The one with the back that looks like this http://www.partypop.com/Forums/images/402391.jpg She had a bustle thing added to the back and it is really cute. PM me and I can send you photos of her wearing it at the bridal salon if you are interested. -
I think there is a difference between going to Mexico and staying at the same resort and all hanging out and then going to your wedding. Only the people you have invited should be at your wedding. That should be understood, but you can't really stop people from heading to Mexico at the same time for a vacation. It's kind of awesome so many people want to go, I think that you could tell your FI that you are at the limit on guests since it's a small wedding but if others are interested in making the trip that's cool just ensure he lets them know that the wedding was invitation only due to having a small group. That's really the only thing I can come up with!!

I think it's good you didn't just jump on it and you are thinking about it and rationalizing it. I also think it's great you've looked around at your options in terms of other jobs. My advice from my understanding of the situation, is that if the new position is a step up from your current job, then you should definitely consider it. Even small step ups in companies are how you work your way up. If you stay where you are, the next time a position opens up, they might not consider you for it because it sort of shows that you weren't interested in investing more in the organization and moving up. And sometimes it really does take hard work and some stressful situations if you're interested in getting ahead so to speak. I think if I were you, I would think about what your long term goals are, is this a company you plan to stay with? Do you think once the economy rebounds that you will see growth opportunities? Do you, or will you enjoy the work? The people? Currently you have a few different managers but once it sorts itself out you won't right? One thing I have learned is to stand up for what you think you deserve. Not to be really demanding but if you feel you're being treated unfairly then perhaps bring that up. Say that you thought it was for an analyst 2 position, and so that is where your interest is. And also that the salary expectation is not being met based on what was presented to you in the beginning. If they want you for this role then they may take this into consideration. When you really think about it, an extra $12,000 to you is a lot, to the company, it's NOTHING. Alternatively I would maybe suggest that while the transition is happening, if you are going to be working two jobs, that you should be compensated in that transition period for that. Perhaps work out an arrangement that is fair? Large organizations sometimes see what they can get away with first but are willing to negotiate. I think you should stand up for yourself though. Good luck!

I'm by no means an addict. I go once or twice a week though. My FI teaches a class once a week so I try and make it to at least his class. He's so hardcore though that I barely make it through the hour!

Getting save the dates out was the most annoying process!! I seriously started 2 months ago and the final ones are just going out today. Takes so long to compile addresses etc. Glad that is out of the way! Kacie I just checked out your site and it looks awesome! Dreams Tulum looks AMAZING. One thing I noticed was that you mentioned the great rates you were able to secure but I didn't see the rate actually posted anywhere. So just a heads up. I was mostly just curious what the rates were for the same month compared to Dreams Cabo. Wasn't stalking you or anything!

Credit Card Info Stolen From ZiggosLuau.com
*Lo* replied to Paige2010's topic in Destination Wedding Vendors
Thanks for the heads up. And really great that the cc company caught it so you aren't responsible! -
You can't return them if the bottoms are really scuffed. And the shoes are designed so that the red sole wears off that is the point. To be honest, the shoes were not designed for comfort, they were designed to be pretty. If they are REALLY bad such that you can't walk in them, you can have them adjusted. I had the arch lifted in my pumps and they are so much more comfortable now.
