I will be there forever as I'm meeting up with FI and his friend there after the Argo's game. So likely 9:30. If i have to drink by myself I will! I probably can't make it until 6 though as leaving work that early is tough for me. So how many so far? Ana, Heather are you in?

I'm rocking a short dress for the wedding. I knew right away I wanted a short dress. I picked it out online, went and tried it on, (I tried a few long dresses as well) but for a destination wedding I just personally wanted a short dress. I tried it on and it was perfect so I bought it! Since a DW is not traditional I did not feel the need at all to have a traditional long dress. That's just me though!

I got mine at Pearl Bridal House in Mississauga. The service was good when I was there but I haven't had to deal with them again yet so can't speak to how the entire process will go.

Ok so looks like Fri Aug 14th at 5:30 is the consensus? Can everyone who is definitely in for that just post to say so, and then we will make a reservation.

Welcome!! and congrats! I don't think you can really go wrong with either of those. They each may have some different features though. There are several brides on here who have had weddings at those so take a look around and do a search on the resorts!! Goodluck

Out of curiousity, before I email the WC and get a ridiculously expensive quote, does anyone know how much it is for non-white linens for round tables? And I would really love to have those rattan charger plates as part of the table setting. I see a few people bought them and lugged them to their destination with them. Does anyone know if they can be rented at Dreams? The less I take the better!

Wow seriously lots of people complain about their MIL's but yours is definitely in the top 10. If she wants to come over and clean your house though, just ignore her comments and let her clean it. Whatever, that way you don't have to!! It is disrespectful clearly, but if you can try and just ignore the stuff and not take it personally then you will be able to relax a bit. It's so hard because if you stand up to her, then it may create a problem forever for you and your FI. So definitely get him on board with whatever you feel is reasonable. If she went ahead and booked the most expensive room I would definitely discuss that you cannot afford it. So you will be happy to pay for the standard room, and if she wants to upgrade she can pay the difference.

Welcome! There is a lot about Dreams Cabo on the forum so you've come to the right place! We booked our wedding date in February for our Oct 2010 wedding there, but if you are not picky about a specific date then I think booking 10 months out you should be fine! Goodluck

Alright I got out of the Argos game yay! So I can now do the 14th if that is the consensus.

Hmmm that is strange. I booked my wedding date before getting prices so I'm not sure. Do you have someone at the resort you can contact directly. I got the email address of the Dreams Cabo WC, emailed her directly and said "we want to get married on this date is it available, we will put down a deposit". And she wrote back THE SAME DAY!! As soon as you mention money the resorts pay attention I find.

I think number 8 is extremely flattering on you!! It gives you such a tiny waist!! It's also my fav dress so it would get my vote.

Hi brides to be! Just wanted to post my experience with Morgan as I am so impressed with her and any brides still looking for a photographer may want to consider her! I came across Morgan from a shortlist another bride had posted. I went to her site and blog and fell in love with her style and photos. I contacted her and she was incredibly prompt with her replies. She has been doing a lot of DWs lately and her travel rates are really reasonable I thought. My FI communicated with her several times and said she was extremely professional and he really enjoyed how easy it was and also that she is very flexible with packages and options. We went ahead and booked her for our wedding and I'm so happy we did. Especially after reading some reviews of experiences that other brides had in the booking process. I recall she was also a destination bride and so she understands the process and planning we go through. We obviously haven't had our wedding yet, but just wanted to mention her because the process was completely stress-free and we are so happy with our decision. Her photos speak for themselves. I think they start around 7. I'm not 100% sure. FI had to buy tickets because his best friend is the VP of sales. So every year we always are forced to buy at least for one game. We can wait a bit and see if there is any more interest in any of the other days and decide. But it looks like the 14th is what works well for most people.

I think it's great you are taking this on wow. I have to say I absolutely hate cooking and cleaning. HATE IT. It makes me so sad and upset. So I can't imagine someone wanting to learn. If you google "How to properly wash a floor" tons of E-how articles and even instructional videos come up. I think that would be a good place to start! You are not the only one who doesn't know how, we grew up spoiled by our baby boomer parents I think. I had never made my own bed until I moved in with FI. And I still don't really! As for cooking, I just started to do this, but I just search for recipes online and I find if you stay calm and just follow the recipe and do exactly what it says, normally like 9/10 times you are good and the food is tasty and edible!!!

That Jack Astors on Front St is actually a fairly good place for groups. And it's a 5 minute walk from the Go station. Maybe for our first meetup we should keep it easy and not venture too far or get too crazy and we could make a reservation there. I think August 14th I have to go to the Argo's game but after the games everyone always goes to Jack Astors so I could meet up with whoever is still there. (Or meet up before I go to the game) Any of the other dates I should be good to go!

Yes there will be really good directions we can do that! We definitely should start discussing locations as well. So we have the Bathurst and Bloor place, any other suggestions? I was thinking since there are some girls coming in on the GO, that we may want to find a place that isn't TOO far away from there...as they are already commuting. So something that is walking distance from Union might be preferable.

Yes I read it's because you are selling the gown and so they do not allow people to profit when using their copyrighted photos. Taking your own photos of the dress should be fine. I assume they do this because they pay to have those photos of the dresses taken so then they don't want others to be able to earn money from them. I would think that the designers should be ok with posting photos of dresses on the forum just to show other brides. I mean that is free advertising for them! But again posting the designer's photos to sell to other brides they wouldn't like.

Ok I've added a poll and included some Thursday and Friday options! We can see how well this goes or select a new set of dates if it bombs! I'm excited! (you can select more than one date in the poll if you have a more flexible schedule and you were just going to go home and get on the forum anyway!)

Make a sign and put it at a level that he sees when flushing! It can say, "If you don't put the seat down, your wife will have a frown" Or insert your current marital status, the nickname he has for you, etc. Or something to that extent. I had this issue, I made signs and haven't had a problem since!! He says it works better than me nagging him...and it did!

Seems like Fridays after work seem to work for people? I would then suggest Friday August 7th perhaps? Although I'm pretty flexible. The weekend before I think is the long weekend so that's probably no good. And next Friday might be too soon to get everyone on board. Does the 7th work? Yay it seems there are more girls than I realized in the area!

Hey girls in the GTA. I know you are out there. We should have a meetup/get together this summer! I have met a few of you and you are awesome and it's long overdue for an 'official' meet up! I was thinking that maybe even something at a patio might be fun since Torontonians love the patios!! (But non-patios work too) Let's meet and be cool like the girls in the other cities that have get togethers!!
