  1. Wonderful pictures! Your little girl is such a cutie!!
  2. I'm curious if there's anyone on here who have huskier men in their party who have found some nice linen pants? FI and I originally found some we really liked at Kohls but they don't have sizes large enough for my brother! Anyone who could help out, it would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Everything looks wonderful! You did an amazing job! Looking forward to seeing all the pictures upon your return!
  4. Congratulations and welcome to the forum! There's a great Maui section that helped me out in my planning! I'll be getting married this June and will have lots of information and pictures posted upon my return!!
  5. Awe, Jaime, I am so sorry that your girls aren't staying on top of things for you! It's painful when others don't step back and see how they may be making another feel. I've been sort of in your shoes...the good ones get put on the backburner and it's not right! It's made me wish I was pushy and outgoing enough to be bridezilla, but that's not me and I know I would feel stupid! If I was there, even though my own wedding is coming up quickly, I'd have helped organize all this for you!! And the invitations would have been sent out long ago! Again, Jaime, I'm really sorry that things aren't going to be what you want. They should be, they really should! I hope other things start falling in to place for you soon! *Lots of Hugs*
  6. Everything looks great! I love your OOT bags! What is the name of them or do you have the amazon link! I'd really appreciate it!!
  7. So sorry to hear that your site visit was disappointing! I can't help you with what Maui looks like up close and personal as I haven't been there. I am just trusting my gut that this is the place to get married! We will be there in a little over a month and when we return I promise pictures galore! For us, as far as the amount people are spending to go (which is right around what you found, for air and hotel), we're finding that most of the very important people in our lives are finding any way to make it. In fact, a lot of people found it a great excuse to see Hawaii when they may otherwise never get to. Good luck in your new planning! I'm sure you'll find the place that is meant to be!!
  8. Cattie, you look AMAZING! Your FI is going to be SOOO pleased with his gift! Way to go, girl!
  9. I was hesitant at first about using my dress but decided to go for it. I did a lot of reading and searching the internet in general and the forum. Since I found that with the water/ocean pictures about all I read was that the dress seems to come out cleaner I figured if I was doing a TTD I'd much rather use my actual wedding dress because I love my dress so much and want that in my pictures! Now I'm really excited for it!
  10. It's beautiful (the first one)! I can see why it would make you want to cry, you look absolutely radiant in that dress!
  11. Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your upcoming wedding, we are date twins! You'll find a lot of great information for any last minute details on here!
  12. Those are too funny! I love them! The guys are going to get a kick out of em, I'm sure!!
  13. I enjoy reading in all sorts of genres. My all-time favorite book is "For the Roses" by Julie Garwood. Also by her, I love "Castles." I also enjoy books by Dean Koontz and Kathy Reichs. I completely agree with the Dave Pelzer books being fantastic, but highly heart-wrenching books. Another series I had found in the library at one point was the Carolina Cousins by Michael Phillips. I haven't had a chance to read more than the first two books but I loved those two. Based on the same characters he also has Shenandoah Sisters. These are Historical Christian Fiction books based around the time of the Civil War. I'm definately going to check out the Emily Giffin books, they sound great!! Thank you so much for this thread!! I've been trying to get ideas for flight reading material!!!
  14. For FI's shirt we used Hawaiian Shirts From Mauishirts.com and they were AMAZING! This was the only company who had the shirt we wanted because the manufacturer (Paradise Found) was out of the fabric for this particular shirt. This put us on a bit of a time crunch so when I found out Maui Shirts had it we ordered right away. We did get the FedEx 2-day air from Maui which they recommend anyways if you're nervous about needing the item soon. This was about $20 versus $10 for normal shipping. If you order more than one item, shipping for additional is then only about $3. They prepared the order immediately and it was delivered exactly 2 days later! We'll definately be ordering our groomsmen's shirts from here as well (real soon lol!). A question for those who've done the chair sashes. I see they come untied. Does it take long to get them all tied up?
  15. Everything looks fantastic!! Like others have said, I love your sand ceremony reading and may have to borrow it!
  16. Awwe, it looks beautiful! And so visible in your face that this is what makes you feel like a blushing bride!! Congratulations on your wonderful find!
  17. Wow, I just found this Thread. I'm a June 1st bride and feel like I have WAAAY too much to do yet! We still have GM's attire to purchase, FI's pants and shoes need to be decided on, jewelry to purchase, music selections to make, OOT bags, still have a couple flights to book (we originally were taking the ferry btw Maui and Oahu during our honeymoon before it shut down), wedding party gifts, along with a lot of other little things that still have some time. We just recently got FI's wedding band and are getting mine sized. Have actually gotten a lot accomplished real recently but still feels like a lot left! I'll just be happy for the day to come and we get to say "I Do" and the stress will be over lol.
  18. We just invested in a Simmons Beautyrest. I say invested because I have very bad back problems and was barely sleeping on our old bed anymore. When we first started searching for a bed I was convinced I wanted a Sleep Number or comparable bed. At one location we were looking at who carried a bed in same quality to the Sleep Number as well as other beds, the salesman asked what we were interested in and also things like sleep quality, if there are any back problems, etc. When I told him I have a bad back (degenerated disc included) he pointed us straight to the Simmons, which FI's mom had also recommended and said she wants to get when her and DH gets a new bed. I had laid on the the Sleep Number's as well and liked them a lot, but when I laid on the Simmons it was wonderful. We have a firm with pillowtop which was recommended everywhere we looked due to my back problems, but enjoying the comfort of a softer bed. We did actually pay about the $1500 range you're looking to stay in for a king size bed with box spring included in that price. Purchased from a company associated with Nebraska Furniture. I know I included a lot of information but I figured it may be beneficial to you and even others to know why we went with the Simmon's over others we tried. I fall asleep so easily now (it used to take about an hour or more) and typically don't even wake up when FI gets up for work (I used to wake with any movement all night). Good luck in your bed search!!
  19. FI and I went with Personal Wedding Websites - WedQuarters.com and love it. There's a large selection of layouts which was what I really liked about it, in comparison to the other ones that weren't awfully expensive. This was about $40 for a year if I remember correctly!
  20. They're both gorgeous dresses, I can see why you're having a difficult time!! I agree with those that have said the detailing on #1 shows up so nicely in the pictures and therefore #1 gets my vote! Whichever you choose though, you'll look very beautiful!
