  1. I agree with Kathy! I don't think it looks terrible, but if some of the fabric on the front could get pulled in on the sides it might make a difference (for the better lol). It can't hurt to talk to the bride, or even your mom. Just make sure you approach them in a non-threatening way, you know? Throw in a compliment on the dress before the "but..." lol. Good luck! The color does look nice and glad to hear you're not quite as stressed out about it!
  2. So I have to say I just found this thread and was cracking up that everyone's trying to come up with the song to "bah bah bah bah!" Don't worry...I was saying it out loud to myself when I read it! I love this forum!! Way to go on figuring it out, too!!!
  3. Very pretty dress! Not the correct size for me, but someone's sure to stake claim to it!
  4. I agree with what the rest of the girls are saying, in that you do need to decide which you want more. A very low-key wedding now, or a nicer one later. Keep in mind, you do have some time to figure it out and price a lot of stuff out. If you don't plan to invite a lot of people, really you can have an inexpensive wedding just about anywhere. A couple FI and I know got married in Maui about a year ago with just them and immediate family for under $2000. So it can be done! Sapphire's also right about the house, you need to find out if you can even get the loan right now before really making any decisions. It is a great time to buy, but you also need to have the money to buy so you aren't hurting in the long run. And hey, if you need some assistance in DIY projects give me a shout, as I'm sure most on BDW will tell you! Finally...I know from experience how difficult the long engagement can be. We will be nearly 3 years when we exchange vows. It was painful at times, watching newly engaged friends get married long before me, but we did it! And we get a tropical wedding unlike them! HA! Hang in there...price everything out, and most importantly, take a deep breath! *HUGS*
  5. This is a great idea! Can't wait to see what people come up with!!
  6. I might really have to check Laura out! I'm about 4 hours from the cities so to get there wouldn't be bad at all. I love that her prices are reasonable and include rights to the pictures! Thanks so much for posting..can't wait to see some pics!
  7. I went with a QuicKutz tool and a palm tree for that...The palm tree was about 1 1/2 inches. I found the QuicKutz on sale at a scrapbooking store (in Moorhead, MN). Also can find them online for a more reasonable price!
  8. The uniform would look amazing on the beach, I second that! I also see where the concern comes from. Great advice though in talking to your resort or bringing them along but also having a backup plan. Maybe the area you'll be at isn't having a large problem with the drugs. Good Luck!!
  9. Awe Jaime! It sounds like you're under a lot of stress right now. The best solution? Go out and have fun!! Even if it's not in bachelorette form, I say you need some fun! If everything else goes wrong, at least you can go to the bar or strip club with the people who will/plan to come and have a blast! Screw the ones being rude! *Hugs and a Drink*
  10. It's a bummer that your day has to change but I'm happy to hear you're staying positive! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that all the details get worked out again! Also, awfully sorry some family won't be able to make it anymore.
  11. I debated it for quite awhile as well. I would have loved to register for formal dinnerware, but in the end we decided it made more sense to register for the practical stuff that would be used more regularly. Another big thing for us, is if we didn't get all the pieces it would be a long time until we would be able to purchase the rest on our own. We decided to go with a nicer style of Corelle so it will still work for nice meals, but can be used daily as well.
  12. This place appears to have a huge selection. You can also search by themes or colors! Bulk Candy Super Store! .... CandyWarehouse.com Online Candy Store
  13. Ooh, I'm already a member but hadn't been on lately, so I didn't know they were having Spanx on there! Thanks!
  14. I think either one of those would look great with your dress!
  15. Awesome pictures Amy!! I really like your shots in front of the lighthouse in the books!
  16. Oh Kara, my heart breaks for you! I hope and pray that you are able to get things headed in the right direction again! You will have your wedding, sweetie. I'm very sorry the location or date may have to change, but it's still going to happen!! *HUGS*
  17. Congrats and welcome to the forum!
  18. First of all, I must say, your dress is INCREDIBLE!! I think you should consider the calla lilies others have mentioned. Another idea is cream colored roses, or since one of your colors is yellow, I think some pale yellow roses would look lovely as well. Good luck!! Again, I love your dress!
  19. To you ladies being affected by this, my heart goes out to you and breaks for you. I am praying that things will change and your weddings will go on as planned!
  20. Just thought I'd share..I'm pretty proud of my puppy, and of course love my FI, so if anyone's willing (if they like the pic enough!) I'd love some votes from my fellow BDWers!! Thanks! Brickfish Social Media: Fallin' Asleep with Dad
